The math isn’t complicated: this filter ends up being cheaper, easier, and produces zero plastic waste.Yes, GE requires their brand because of the RFID chip. It would be nice to have universal options, but even with that limitation, the cost per month comes out to around $7.50. Yep, it costs more than 3rd party knock-off filters. But, for me, it is more than just fitting and having the ability for water to flow through before it goes into my glass. This filter is certified to comply with NSF/ANSI Standard 42, 53, 401, and NSF Protocol P473. This means that I can be confident that the water is filtered to high standards. GE does this certification because they are a big company and its reputation rests on proven performance. This is why they have an RFID chip to limit the amount of water that is filtered by each element. The chip assures the filter is replaced when the filter’s ability to filter is exhausted. This is to keep me and my family safe, not because they want to sell more filters. 3rd party filters fit, but do not have the credentials to prove they are filtering as you may think they are. I will pay more to be assured. You will get what you pay for. I chose to pay for quality.

First time changing filter in my GE Profile French Door Refrigerator. Good job GE in the filter location design. Been replacing them for 40 years or so in other fridges. This was so simple. Easy. Prompt shipment and so much better when ordering a cheaper brand that ended up coming from China and the first six glasses I poured had a film on the surface.You will get all my future orders and nice to see made here in USA.

I have had many people tell me how good the water is that comes out of my GE refrigerator. We are on a rural water association, and the water out of the faucet is not terrible, but it is not nearly as good as what comes out of the refrigerator. I even use that water in my Keurig coffee maker, and it makes the coffee better too. It is saving me money too because I am not using the bottled water now. I will never settle for anything except the water filtered by this GE filter.

Filter shipped quickly, was packaged well and fit perfectly. However, this is a GE rip-off. There is now an RFID chip in the filter which allows the fridge to track how long the filter has been installed. You can’t remove one of these filters and just re-install it to trick the timer. Therefore the red “replace the filter” LED blinks every time you get water forcing you to pay for a new one in order to reset it.

This is the second time I have ordered this replacement water filter. So easy to replace and top quality. Will definitely continue to order this filter every six months.

This is a good refrigerator filter and the well water I drink is odor and sediment free. It is an easy install and takes only moment. (I also use a primary filter on the waterline before the refrigerator. ) My only complaint is that it expires too soon. That cost is not a deal breaker, but it is noticeable.

A couple of questions always come up around these things and I will try to answer them to the best of my knowledge as an engineer, and what I do for my family to keep them safe, but always do your own research because it’s your water!Pro-Tips Q&A:Q. When my light turns on in the refrigerator that says “Change Filter”, is the filter really worn out vs they just want me to buy a new one like a subscription service?A. The answer to this is a frustrating “It depends”. Some refrigerators just turn on the light every X amount of hours of run time, usually around 4380 (six months). Others measure how many gallons of water you have used and then turn on the light (usually around 200-250 gallons) but I have never seen one that measures ONLY gallons. Some really new ones measure flow rate as a third indicator and when the flow changes by a certain percent it might trigger a filter change light because the computer assume that the filter is not doing its job any longer.There may be a rating printed right on the filter to check how many gallons it’s good for. Most newish models fridges in the last 10-15 years watch both hours and gallons and turn on the light whatever is happens first, 6 months or 200 gallons. The newest watch flow, gallons and time and will act accordingly. I have one newer fridge that will turn on the light within a month if you use a cheap knock off. I don’t use this fridge for water or ice so it doesn’t matter, but the flow of the knock-offs is effected such that the fridge believes that it isn’t getting filtered properly and with these cheap knock-offs it’s probably right so I went back to OEM even on that fridge and I just change it once per year and I’m done with it. Safety first even if I don’t plan to use it!Q. So if I am not using 200 gallons, do I need to replace it every six months?A. The answer is again, it depends. Here is where it gets tricky. How bad is the water coming in, and how much sediment and other things are you filtering out? In other words, how hard are you working the filter? The carbon in the filter only has so much capacity to absorb stuff. At some point it becomes less effective and the water just passes through without being filtered because the carbon is saturated and can’t handle any more.The way I figured out what was right for me was I checked my water with those water check strips you can get here on Amazon, and I figured out exactly how bad the water was and what was in it. Then I figured out how that compared to the average water across the U.S. domestic market (EPA numbers) and I figured out my water was somewhat cleaner than then average but also on the hard side. This gives you your base to know around how much the filter will likely absorb. If you figure the manufacturer assumes 200 gallons of average water, and you can adjust if yours is above or below average. I figured in my case these OEM filters were in fact good for around 268 gallons without an issue, assuming they were in fact honest and 200 gallons was the right starting point (slight leap of faith there). That was a 30%+ increase beyond the recommended number. Using up my box of test strips basically proved it out although I figure around 250 gallons or so it would start to show less effective.For the refrigerator that this particular filter is going into, it’s not seeing 200+ gallons in a year. Remember: Include ice creation in your water calculation. Therefore for me, and this refrigerator (vs my others) I could get away with replacing the filter only once per year.Q. Why not go over a year and wait until 200+ gallons????A. Well that is because it is possible that bacteria can grow in the carbon and get transferred to the water. This is unlikely, but possible and as the bacteria take up space itself (very little) you can make the filter less effective AND less safe, so I change it at LEAST once a year just to be safe. The carbon in a solid state like in these filters does not break down when exposed to water so I don’t have to calculator that.Q. Why not use a cheaper knock-off filter at half the price and replace it twice as often, or at a 1/4 the price and replace it twice as often saving lots of money? Well, for me, I don’t trust what these knock-off filters claim. Some of the claims are so outrageous I am surprised they don’t claim it cures cancer. You find these on the Chinese knock-offs in particular. Avoid these at all costs. Some of the more reputable filter replacements are probably ok, but they might skimp on carbon, or have wider channels so there is less carbon, use a different density carbon etc. that may make them cheaper but less effective. The only way to tell for sure is to take water measurements and then cut the filter open to see for yourself across samples taken over a 6 month period. That is a heck of a lot of work when I know that I am replacing them at the right interval, plus I know for sure the OEM manufacturer doesn’t want to get sued or take a reputational risk so their specs are likely correct. I want to keep my family safe, so I just go with the OEM version and make my calculations.Remember, you are DRINKING this. Either in frozen Ice form or liquid form. Your family, your children, your guests, friends, relatives drink this. Spend a little extra money to get a filter you know works and will be safe for your family.I hope you found this helpful.

Just moved to a town in NE PA that has horrible tap water. You can smell the chlorine after showering. Though I would have to invest in bottled water forever. Discovered my GE refrigerator had a sophisticated filter built in that needed replacing. Got this filter which was an exact match. Installation was tricky. Pro tip, make sure the filter receiver is swung all the way out.Bottom line, my GE water dispenser is now providing me excellent quality water that is on par with most bottled water. Even my cats can’t tell the difference. While I’m supposed to replaced it every 6 months, I feel it’s well worth it.

We have well water that is high in iron so I have a water softener but makes water taste bad. My refrigerator water line probably bypasses the water softener, but I feel confident this filter removes any contaminants and the water tastes great!.

Followed instructions. Ran two cycles with one tablet. Monitored each cup expecting to see ick. Hardly anything came out. Ran two cycles with clean water. Felt good about brewing my coffee in the morning. Turned Kerig on and it made ungodly noise and would not work. Go figure. LOL So last resort unplug. Waited 10 minutes, then turned it on. Walla! It had to reset. Coffee at last and a good one at that. Yes, this product is worth the purchase.

I’ve normally just used vinegar and water to clean my coffee maker but lately the machine was running very slow. I woke up to the coffee not fully brewed a couple times this week, and once it seemed done but was only half filled. I thought my coffee maker was dead, so started looking for a replacement but the one I got that lasted 10 years is no longer for sale, so I decided to buy a cleaner just to see if it would help and give me time to shop for something new.After using one tablet, it brewed fast like it was brand new. I used the “clean” setting and the water came out mucky and gross, and the inside of the machine seemed clear. Just for good measure, I ran a second tablet through because if it was dirty enough to clog the machine before, it might need a double clean.Coffee maker shopping has been indefinitely suspended! So glad this worked. Now, I’m going to buy the laundry machine cleaner and give my front loader a good cleaning! Can’t wait. 40 years ago, if you’d have told me that I’d be excited to buy a cleaning product, I’d have never believed it and beat you up for saying it. Now… I can’t wait.

Wait, what? Instructions on the container of this product tell you to fill your coffee maker (Keurig in my case) reservoir then add 4 ounces of this product. Make a couple of large cups of coffee (without a pod), pour whatever remains of the fluid in your reservoir out then refill with plain water and make a couple of cups (again no pod) to remove all traces of the chemical. No waiting. Total time, maybe 10 minutes.Compare that to the ‘normal’ method:Fill reservoir half and half with water and vinegar, make coffee (without pod) until reservoir is empty, wait 30 minutes. Refill reservoir with fresh water, make 12 large cups of coffee (no pod) to rinse machine. Total time, nearly an hour to make all that (clear water) coffee plus the wait.Is the inside of my machine now clean with this time saving product? Beats me but in fairness, it is only sold as a descaler, not a complete cleaning solution. I think I’ll probably use it every other cleaning and go back to vinegar, something I absolutely know will clean deposits and kill mold, yeast and bacteria that can breed in the hot water reservoir (I know, yuck!) for the other 50%.

I definitely change these out regularly in my KitchenAid French Door Refrigerator that I purchased two years ago. I consider it regular maintenance to filter what I can from the extremely hard water in my community, the worst I’ve ever experienced. I get almost all of my drinking water from the refrigerator door. (While I had my pup, he got bottled spring water at home and from the car when we ventured out to the parks‼️ ???? my husband bought some water filters on Amazon , 3 for $20.00 . They did NOT do the job! The taste was horrible, really horrible. On closer inspection theose water filters only complied with ONE NSF qualification the NSF 42, not the one for taste. So it was money wasted on those THREE water filters. Don’t buy anythhing but the LG brand. There are three certifications required , NSF 42, NSF53 and NSF 401. After replacing the filter and running only 3 liters of water through the system the water was tasteless, Mission accomplished!!! But , of coutrse the price was $54.00 for only one, but if I cant drink the water of use the ice because it tastes so bad, it is money well spent. Nothing worse than having some beautiful green tea I make and than add ice to and it becomes undrinkable.

UPDATE1 2025-11-14: Sorry about the confusion—there was an issue with my fridge. Today, LG support fixed my connector. The round hole I mentioned in my previous comment (below) now has some plastic covering it, which makes it look rectangular.UPDATE2 2025-11-14: So, sold by this vendor is a perfectly working with my new LG fridge.Update3: The vendor’s support team was available and very respectful, even though the mistake was on my end.PREVIOUSLY, my wrong comment was:This product is described as the same I have, but the connector inside its body is different: for example, this is a round hole and not a narrow rectangle. They also didn’t realized it was supposed to be changed every 6 months! ???? I know the horror!Immediately looked up the their fridge model and the compatible filter. On the main website the discounted subscription price was much more than what I found on Amazon for and I have prime free shipping so a win is win over here! Received it really fast the next day. Installed and fit this in within a matter of seconds, it was super easy. Reset the filter and ran the water as instructed for 2.5 gallons or 5 mins (I ran ours longer for obvious reasons) I also threw away all the ice (for obvious reasons lol) and already the ice and water tastes so crisp and fresh. And I can sleep happy a night knowing my grown parent children are drinking clean filtered water.

These are OEM LG Water Filters, so the quality is top-notch. Each filter is individually wrapped and there were no strange odors or tastes or anything visible in the dispensed water, as has been reported in a large number of reviews for many of the non-OEM filters.Because they are OEM, the fit is perfect.

This LG LT1000P water filter fits our fridge perfectly and works exactly as expected — clean, fresh-tasting water every time. Installation was super easy, and the quality feels reliable. The only downside was that the shipping took longer than I expected, but overall, it’s a great product and worth the wait. ????

Here is my two cents in buying the OEM filter. It is more expensive than after market filters, but there is no question as them being the correct size, functioning correctly, and fitting correctly. The unit feels of high quality and weighs a bit more than after market ones. Their water filtering quality has been laboratory confirmed. I have seen too many listing for after market ones where you need to modify the filter to fit properly. For the peace of mind those few extra dollars brings, it is well worth the money.

I selected these filters for their lower cost and positive ratings. They fit perfectly and work every bit as well as the high cost filters they replaced. We’re finding less dust and our family seems to sneeze less and breathe easier because of the allergens that the filters trap. I will continue to purchase these and would confidently recommend these filters to family, friends and any others in search of a value priced and high performing filter.

First the downside- The filters do NOT have a MERV rating on them. They are not individually wrapped. The flow direction is not marked, so you have to THINK about the direction of flow.The 4 star rating is because of lack of MERV markings.Now the good- They do look to be well made. Better quality then the big box home improvement store. The cardstock around the filter feels better, corners glues in place better. The filter material itself, has more pleats, and seems like the same material. The filter material seems to be held in place to the frame better. They fit right into my filter slot, same thickness. The filters looked clean even without the plastic wrap. So, for me, I don’t care about individual wrapping IF I’m buying something in bulk, better for the environment.I guess I have to just trust it’s MERV 11. But I have to say we have an older furnace that’s like 85% a higher MERV will probably just put a strain on air circulation anyway. Plus we have 2 cats so we change the filter monthly.So when I went to change my old filter, again MERV 11 from big box, THAT filter was actually sliding down in it’s own cardstock frame, allowing unfiltered air to pass through to the furnace & A/C condenser. GREAT, more cleaning…I went to the Amazon basic filter for cost, after I read a few (not so good) reviews, I thought it couldn’t be worse than the big box store. AND Amazon was way less expensive then the other place. First impression is they seem just fine, IF I had allergies or other issues, I might not be inclined to use these. BUT I think for most people these would be fine, and economical.IF this fails in 30 days or less, I’ll update.UPDATE : No the didn’t fail, actually the seem MUCH better than the big box brand we been using, and there is an arrow for the flow direction, it’s kinda small and I missed it.

They work great. Fit like they should. Will definitely order again. I use the merve 5 after having problems with the AC freezing up. The HVAC tech came out all was good. The filter we used was the highest rated merve. That was the cause. Restricting air flow. Just change this filter once a month and all is good. And at this price you can.

Perfect replacement. Though they should be the same size, these actually fit better than what came with my new system from the builder.Local stores are always out of the size. The no frills bulk packing on the 6 pack makes this a smart buy. It’s cheaper than the individual wrapped ones and always having extras on hand is nice.

We have a Jenn-Air fridge that is over ten years old. When we have used other filters, they were difficult to replace. This filter fits perfectly and is very easy to install. The flow rate is excellent. Although more expensive than other filters, it is worth it for the ease of installation.

I’ve tried a few off-brand filters in the past, but nothing compares to the everydrop® by Whirlpool. The difference in water taste is immediate — clean, crisp, and no odd aftertaste. Installation was super easy and it clicked right into place without any leaks. Ice cubes are crystal clear again and water pressure stayed strong. Definitely worth the money for peace of mind knowing it’s filtering out what it should. Highly recommend sticking with the original brand filter.

These work great and I use them twice a year. Never had any problems with them at all. The water always taste great as well.

BNX seems to really have their act together. One of the biggest problems with a typical box of 6 filters is that the filters are bent or crushed before they go into the shipping box, or the box exactly fits snug around the filters – such that if there is any rough handling in shipping (and there usually is) then the filter perimeter paperboard (the frame) will become bent or even creased. If that happens, and the frame of the filter is flimsy to start with, then you can have serious issues.Considering the above – there are 2 very important points to look for from my perspective.1. Structural strength of the filter paperboard frame components (not the actual filter material so much) need to be as sturdy as you can get – in order to prevent bending, bowing, or any other shape that allows the flowing air to short circuit around the filter. In particular the paperboard perimeter framework is the most important piece to having a filter that is not flimsy. It is very simple to examine this by “feel”. I have ordered from several providers at this point – and so far the BNX construction is by far the most sturdy that I have seen – this is very apparent upon holding one and flexing it a bit – but keep reading.2. The next requirement concerns how the filters are packed so that they cannot be easily “dented” with minor dings and collisions in transit. The first BNX shipment I received with (1) – 6 pack came in an OVERSIZED – and very sturdy cardboard box. There was not one crease or crinkle in any of the 6 filters when I opened it. The oversized box seems to work because if it takes a hit in shipment – the filters bundled up in plastic inside have room to be away from edges of the shipping box. I’m sure the bigger package is a cost factor – but, it’s worth it. It is extremely important that the filters have no structural flaws.I have a new Trane Gas Package & it requires (Qty 2) – 18 x 20 x 1 nominal size. Actual size needs to be exactly 17.75″ x 19.75″ x 0.75″. Also, 2 of these filters are needed, as that is how TRANE designed their filter tray arrangement – you slide one of the filters in on a U shaped metal channel tray until it touches the HVAC unit side wall – and then you slide another filter in until it butts against the first filter. Then you close the filter compartment door, and it seals with the side wall of the second filter. The filter dimensions are perfect and have no leakage between where the two butt together. Also, there is no leakage against the other edges against the HVAC unit. I have tried several other brands and none are as sturdy as these. So the size is perfect, and I do not think they will get sucked into the unit or bowed due to their above average structural integrity. As a side note, the actual filter size for this large TRANE unit is difficult to find …. so congratulations for BNX stocking this size.In conclusion – I just put the first 2 filters into my TRANE unit. So I cannot vouch for runtime at this moment. I will try to adjust this review as I continue to watch it’s operation. However, the fact that the filters arrived in absolutely perfect condition, AND, they are the sturdiest I have ever seen gives me a lot of confidence that my battle for a filter vendor is over. I have been using these filters since August 2025. They appear to do the job. I change filters every 2 months. It is easy to see the dust and whatever they trap. They are white going in and dark gray when replaced. I recommend this product.

I have an AprilAire filter box on my furnace, and changing the “official” AprilAire accordian-style filter is a nightmare. These BNX filters slide into the filter box, quick and easy with no cursing as with the accordian filters. Rated MERV 13 so it has good filtering capabilities. Highly recommend.

Standard filter. Well packaged. Subscribed to save some money as we have two furnaces and every few dollar adds up. Merv 11 because we have two dogs. First ones go in tomorrow. I can update the review in a month when we change again if any issues occur.Constructed well not too wobbly. Pleats look good. Arrived when scheduled to. We have the 16x25x1 size and many other sizes available

Filters for perfect! Added my aromatherapy drops. My home smells different and the air is definitely cleaner. My fans dont have the build up of dust since I do alot of art in the home. Definitely will consider subscribing

I used to buy high MERV home air filters, but I recently hired an HVAC contractor to do a check up of my equipment. He specificially recommended MERV 8 as the higher MERV filters that I had been using are more taxing on the blower equipment (in my attic). I don’t know what others think about this advice, but it made sense to me. I change these filters about once every 8 months. They have served me well and do not negtively impact air flow. They also fit perfectly in my 20×24 air filter holder. Finally, they are well priced and end up costing me less than going out and purchasing from a brick and mortar.

Quality Filters, definitely cost efficient, absolutely as good as Filt–te Brand at twice the price!My only complaint is one was damaged on the corner, most likely improper handling of delivery person.
