  • Excellent quality and perfect for my purposes
    The media could not be loaded. I bought these to make naturally fermented sodas and for bottling/aging home brewed ciders, meads and wine. They do provide an airtight seal, but there is a maximum pressure that they will hold be for some air escapes past the seal, so they are *not* completely air tight. This is a good thing in some cases because it prevents over pressurizing and explosions. However, because of this, they may not be the best solution for long term storage and aging. In that case a more typical wide bottle with a cork might be a better bet.They’re glass so they clean easily with soap and hot water as long as you’re using them for water/oil based fluids. I’ve had mine for a few months and I haven’t noticed any rust or degradation of the silicone seals or any other durability issues. I haven’t dropped them but but i’m not delicate with them either. They’re a good size and weight and easy to handle. The glass stands up to normal handling/use of glass bottles, but The extra little goodies are nice, but a bit of a waste for me. It’ nice that they include labels and a marker for easy labeling, especially if you have a bunch of similar looking liquids.

    Products are excellent; some reviews stated leakage; I have not had that problem at all! Use them for Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, MCT Oil, even some salad dressing. Extra silicone orange tops are included, but I don’t expect to replace ones on the bottle for quite some time. Don’t mind at all reducing 50-times-a-day exposure to every plastic known to man, with the cooking oils; plus, the bottles are really convenient for adding oil to pans; volume poured is more moderated, so you don’t put too much! Really like these bottles!

    When I first got these, I made a batch of kombucha. It turns out I put way too much sugar in the mix. When I opened one a few days later, it sprayed all over my kitchen. That was a pain to clean up, obviously. BUT — I was very impressed with their ability to handle the amount of CO2 pressure that built up in these bottles. I certainly wouldn’t recommend allowing that much pressure to build, but I knew I had good quality bottles after that happened. They are a very good size for me and are very easy to open and close. I would definitely use these for carbonated drinks and even as ways to serve cold water at the table.

    I was just getting started in my sourdough journey, and this kit was perfect. Everything is really high quality, easy to use, and works like a charm. The only thing I would do differently is to have the sticker already attached to the glass. I had to put it on myself, and it was not easy.Otherwise, the jar is a good size, and the wand/stick to mix the starter works great, is easy to clean, and overall it just works.

    This jar is perfect for those new to creating a sourdough starter (that’s me ????) Everything, from the time band, the thermometer, to the skinny spatula and silicone cover, all make it less intimidating for someone just starting out! I am in the Northeast, where it is freezing and very dry right now, so I have been putting my starter inside the oven with the light on at night, when we keep our house cooler. The thermometer allowed me to see that putting the jar right next to the oven light with the oven door closed was a bit too warm, but moving the jar to the opposite side of the oven away from the light, puts it at a perfect 75-79F range. The silicone cover was the key to my starter not crusting over and preventing growth – I had reached out to Meni (CEO) and asked how to resolve the dry layer on top because it’s been so cold here, he suggested putting the silicone cover on top and it was exactly what it needed.Oh, and let’s talk about customer service…. Meni personally answered every single question I sent to him, and helped me to have a very successful first bake (yesterday) with a very young starter (12 days old at time of making bread). Between emails back and forth, and the extremely helpful walkthrough videos available (I am a ‘need to see it’ kind of person), this newbie was able to bake sourdough ????I need to mention the quality of the packaging as well (for all of these products). I understand that it is not important to everyone, but I feel if a company takes time and effort (and $$$) to present their products in a nice way, it speaks volumes. The packaging is very high quality and esthetically pleasing, and it is clear that a lot of attention goes toward presentation. Quality products AND quality packaging – I have no hesitation purchasing more products from KneadAce.

  • Inexpensive, but good PH meter.
    This is the second of these PH meters I’ve purchased. There are a number of negative reviews, so I was a little concerned but went ahead and order one. The first meter calibrated easily and (apparently) accurately. I used the three point calibration, then tested my fish tanks and compared the reading to the drop type ph test kit I had been using. It was spot on as close as I could tell with the test kit. I used the meter for a week, every day on several tanks as I changed the ph. It tracked these changes as I would have expected it to.It worked very well for me so I ordered a second PH meter. (I have fish tanks in two locations.) I then used these two meters side by side. They vary from each other by 0.10 points. The second meter did not calibrate as easily as the first, and the calibration was off slightly. I will try recalibrating, but it’s as accurate as I need now. I’m very satisficed with them and would recommend.

    The TDS meter works very well, especially considering the low price — it gives quick and reliable readings. However, the pH meter takes a bit longer to stabilize and provide an accurate measurement. Overall, it’s a useful and affordable kit for basic water quality testing, but be patient with the pH readings.

    Vivosun Digital pH and TDS Meter receive a 5-star rating because of the customer service, and the products. The pH meter was not working when we received it. I contacted Vivosun and they offered a refund or replacement. I went with the replacement and received a new pH meter the next day. Both meters are working, now I just need to adjust the pH in the water I am giving my herbs so we can all be happy.
  • Waste of money, results are wildly different measuring same water twice in a row!
    I have a scientific grade PH probe that has been in continual use on a 65 gallon discus tank for 6 months and it was time to recalibrate as part of routine maintenance. After 6 months of use, probe had barely drifted. I used PH 4.0 and PH 7.0 calibration fluids. Probe was spot on with the 4.0 and read 7.1 with the 7.0 so it only needed a very minor adjustment to bring it back into perfect calibration. I used this probe as a comparison with the VIVOSUN. The VIVOSUN readings straight out of the box were pretty far off. Measuring the PH 7.0 solution, the VIVOSUN reported 7.6. Measuring the PH 4.0 solution, VIVOSUN reported 3.65. I calibrated the VIVOSUN using the provided powder for all 3 PH solutions provided as this should provide the most accurate readings per the instructions. Immediately after calibration, I poured fresh 4.0 and 7.0 solutions and the VIVOSUN results were at least .5 off in both directions. Poured fresh solution AGAIN (after rinsing probe in RO water) and once again results were way off (but different from the results it just reported from the first fresh solution pour. I then compared with test strips and the test strips matched the results from my scientific probe. In short, do not rely on the pH meter and I would go so far as to say you need to throw it in the trash ASAP. The TDS meter is also flawed. There are 4 modes of display, according to the instructions whichever mode you choose will remain the default until you change it.. (e.g. Power it off today and tomorrow when you power it on, it should default to the mode it was in when it was powered off.). It does not do this. Not only that but in the middle of taking a reading, it will just randomly switch from measuring PPM to EC or from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I don’t have anyway to validate the EC or PPM readings but judging by what I can validate, I would not trust it in any way, shape or form.
  • I don’t understand why they use these calibration points.
    I normally love vivosun products I have two of their tents. Their fans are pretty good. The only problem I have with this kit is that the calibration points don’t match my other pH meter. So I have to use the packets. I like using lab calibrating fluid not the packets. They are crap. I don’t want to order more packets when I can just order calibration fluid from a lab. Other than that, the product works fine. If you’re fine with the packets, they are accurate. And of good quality.
  • Expectations Exceeded!
    I can honestly say this little pH meter (black Vivosun) has exceeded my expectations. For such a low price point, I figured there would be considerable issues with sensor drift requiring constant calibrations however this little guy has always been within .1 pH when checking prior to the calibrations I have periodically performed over the last few months. Proper rinsing and storage as well as frequency of use are also important factors when maintaining accuracy with a pH meter however the quality of the sensor is also part of the equation. With that being said, this Vivosun pH meter appears to be well made. I would always recommend periodic calibration of a pH meter if you are relying on its accuracy regardless of the manufacturer. The probe is easy to use and easy to rinse after use eliminating any hassles and the removable probe cover provides protection during storage. The readings quickly stabilize which has also streamlined my testing process. Overall, this has been a great value and I would recommend especially if on a budget.

Bottles are of good quality and I really like how they came with tops for oil, stickers to label, etc. I’ve subtracted 1 star because one of my bottles arrived chipped. I didn’t notice at first but definitely don’t want to gift a chipped bottle.

  • Probably the best glasses you could get for the price!
    I had to come back and write a review on how great of quality these glass bottles are. When they arrived they were packaged perfectly as to not break (even with the crazy way packages get treated) – the glass felt very thick and great quality. The brush that came with it makes it so easy to clean in a pinch. Each one of these is 1 liter so it’s nice being able to have ice cold water all the time as opposed to hoping the brita is cold. Great size, fits in your hands pretty well to not slip, and had a solid cap that’s attached to each one so you never misplace them. My favorite part however is the quality of the glass. I had one drying on my counter upside down on a drying mat and I guess air blew it off my counter onto the epoxy floor, and it did not break, crack, or even look like It dropped. An easy 4 foot fall onto dang near concrete and it survived. These are very well made – you won’t regret buying these ones.

    I bought these as they seemed like a good value, which they are. However as nobody else has mentioned it, these weights are not flat on the lower surface, they are concave. So there is potential for gas trapping under them, although the theory is that the concave surface produces a suction effect that keep the weight in place.They are well packed, and seem like good quality glass.I like the handle, tried it in a bowl of water and they are easy to grip and lift. I am going to get a set of the more expensive flat bottomed ones and compare them, and update the review after that.– update –After comparing flat to concave weights i can say they both work as intended and stay put with no gas underneath.I am happy with these, they work well and keep both finely chopped and coarsely chopped items under the brine. I have tried them from finely chopped sauerkraut to do chua (daikon and carrots), the weights work well and are easy to grab and remove, except of course when the jar is nearly empty, but by then no weight is usually required as there is a lot of brine left.I saw a reviewer mention they do not work well in 1/2 gallon mason jars, as the jars a wider. So i tried it. I found even sauerkraut submerged well in a 1/2 gallon jar. Yes there are a couple of small pieces that escape, but they do not seem to actually reach the surface, the suction effect of the weight seems to keep everything down anyway.I even tried the weight on a jar of Trader Joe’s sauerkraut (with the cucumber in it), that jar is much wider than the weight, and square. It even worked perfectly in that, the weight kept all the contents down below the brine, no problems at all.I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars. Even when covered in brine i have no problems grabbing the weight and removing it.

    I am new to the art of fermentation and decided to get these glass weights for my first batch of sauerkraut as I had seen them on a YouTube channel. Please be aware that there are two sizes and make sure you are ordering the correct size for your jars. I found them to be easy to insert but difficult to remove as they have a little glass knob in the center that is not quite long enough to grasp when wet. They do get the job done.

The first day the heat probe did not register so we sent an email to the company and Mike responded the next day and told us to try again leaving the probe in a little longer and it worked.     I’m a new sourdough beginner. It worked OK going through the summer months but when it got cooler, I was having trouble getting my starter to rise. I bought this little warming plate and it was a difference between night and day. I will never not use it. Came in very handy. I wish the instructions were a little bit more detailed because I couldn’t get it from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I did contact the people and they did send me an email back and it was very easy to switch them.
