  • Super easy to use
I usually don’t take the time to write reviews, but this 3D pen is fantastic. Got it for my daughters 8th birthday- Setup was simple, and it heats up fast. The controls are simple, making it great for beginners and detailed projects. It consistently feeds the filament and is perfect for unleashing creativity. Super easy tool for all ages.
  • Great pen for its cost.
This is probably going to be the most in-depth review I have ever wrote on Amazon. I am doing this because I feel like it is important for when you are shopping for 3D pens. This will cover the PLA that the pen comes with, and also PLA I bought elsewhere and why I have chosen what I have.——————-My first impressions:I am surprised at how light the pen is. I have small-ish hands for a 5’1″ woman and it felt very comfortable to hold. After reading the instructions, it states that if the PLA crackles or bubbles while the using the pen, to lower the temp. Sure, no problem right? Not really.I use wax paper to trace my designs on, I use this due to a youtube video which suggested it, and its a lot cheaper than the mats. I also prefer it over mats because it is paper thin, which gives me the most accuracy of my tracing which is important to me.I started using the pen at the default 190f. As I was using it, I noticed that the PLA did crackle in the pen, and it did form bubbles. As advised by the instructions I turned it down lower. The lowest point for PLA is 160f according to the instructions, however, it would not stick to the wax paper at all. I then tried 170f and again, the PLA would not stick to the wax paper as well as it had with the 190f. Once more I turned it up to 180f, it stuck, not as well as I would like but it was a lot better than the other settings. Also, at the lower settings it gives no time at all to adjust the plastic if you need to nudge or squish down a bump.Changing the PLA:After using most of the PLA given in the kit, I went out and bought from a local small buisiness (SUPPORT THEM!) which uses locally sourced PLA. Once more, I tried the 190f temp setting. Not only does the PLA come out much smoother, it sticks to the wax paper perfectly, and I am noticing my pen does not get near as hot using it. I can use it for much longer before deciding to give it a break. This means I can nudge the PLA, and bend it and it sticks well to my wax paper so it does not shift on me while working. I also notice that it is much less stringy than the PLA the pen comes with. PLA brand matters, and it is good to research into a good PLA, I am just glad our local PLA works this nicely.TIPS:Bonus, a tip to enjoy your pen even more. You can get a lot more use out of your pen with various other tools. A wood burner with temp control and multi tips is wonderful for shaping and smoothing your project after you had made it. Use aluminum foil covered in painter’s tape to fill in big gaps to use less PLA. A course sand-paper followed by a smoothing sand paper also helps in finishing off the nice smoothness of the PLA. As stated before, Wax Paper is a wonderful material to work on. It could be used repeatedly until it eventually tears and painter’s tape peels off it nice so you can adjust and move it. Look for some good youtube videos to get you started on techniques to best build your 3D Pen creations!Overall:This is a very nice pen for its cost, you can adjust the temp, its light and comfortable, also easy to use. Pictures provided show the projects I have made with this pen for my D&D sessions. The PLA that I bought works wonderful for being painted right on without any primer. If you are curious, I use 3D Fuel PLA. Someone suggested not to work it too hard, giving it a break every 30min or so, I think some times I do go closer to an hour. Always press the up button and get your PLA fully out before you turn it off (by unplugging it). Always trim the tail off the PLA. I have yet to run into any of the issues of it clogging or just turning off. Only twice did it seem to “turn off” and I think my PLA had nudged the cord since it curls, because it would auto go back to temp after.
  • Great customer service
My daughter loves it.I bought it like birthday present, but it stopped working after 2 months.I contacted with customer service and they sent me new one, so I recommended this pen and this store!
  • Works great
This is an amazing purchase too quality not to thick . The pen functions as it is supposed to to . The weight is perfect very easy, comfortable to hold, easy to use great value
  • Saved the day multiple times within a week of buying.
So I purchased this not to draw fancy 3d pictures but for one purpose. To fill in a giant crack that formed during a 3d print. Realizing it wasn’t designed for PTEG figured ABS has similar enough properties it should work, and it did like a charm! Within minutes I had completely salvaged a massive print that I had spent 14 hours printing. I was able to pump enough PTEG filament into the crevice which cooled to form a nice bond. A little sanding and it was almost like it never happened. But that’s not all, a day later the spool adapter I was using for the CFS cracked at the base during a multi color print. Not being able to print a replacement as I only have a single printer I was able to use this to weld the pieces together long enough to finish the print then some. I actually think the part while not pretty is much stronger. If I had any complaint is that there doesn’t seem to be an easy means to clear all the filament out. When I first began my repair on the adapter a lot of PTEG came oozing out, which doesn’t stick well to PLA. So I had to clean off what I could and redo it once the PLA began to ooze.I cant speak to how well you can actually do art, but I dont doubt it as Ive seen people do amazing things with less but I can say that if you have a 3d printer this could prove a valuable tool to repair accessories.
  • OK, but not great and very easily broken
It’s a great way for kids it’s a definitely a great compliment to a 3-D printer. Mine broke fairly easily. I tried to open up the back panel on and it was very difficult. You have to buy filament to go with it pretty quickly. While I would love to give this a 5 star it does need some improvements.
  • Neat little pen!
Bought to use as a touchup tool for 3D prints, Light weight, very easy to use, seems to work as described.
  • Great gift
This was a winner! I bought it for my 9 yo grandson who loves it and had so much fun drawing things and bringing them into 3D.

What Customers Say:

  • I’m getting great results with this filament
Good deep color quality with this filament. The size is consistent thickness, and as expected, it was packaged well to prevent moisture. I’m getting great results with this brand and will buy it again. Good value here for a quality product.
  • Good stuff
Update: I have now used several overtire filament products and have decided that the issues I had with this particular product were likely due to my own improper handling of the filament when loading my printer or just a rare case of poorly spoiled filament. In either case all of the other filaments I have gotten from Overture have been top notch. It has been consistent and high quality. I have been moving away from PLA in favor of petg and I have to say their petg filament is where it’s at. I am changing my review to five stars after finishing the spool and also using several other overtire products. If you are looking for some great quality filament don’t hesitate to try this. When I first opened the package the filament seemed a little messy compared to other brands I had tried up to that point. It didn’t seem to be ranged just a little weird. At first it printed great and consistently. However it eventually started to catch on itself and after pausing the print to check it out I didn’t see any apparent tangles so I continued on. About 30min later it caught again and caused a rather large print to fail. I didn’t notice until it made a noise when the extruded snapped the filament in two. I thought I had fixed it when it happened AGAIN later that night with another large print(stupid me I should have changed rolls). Anyway, I rewound the entire thing myself and haven’t had an issue since. All in all, I am disappointed in the performance of this roll and how poorly it was wound. However, I am having great success with overtures petg. I’m giving it 4 stars for now. If I grab another roll from them with better results I’ll do a new review.
  • Great quality and cost!
Might be the best $$$ I’ve ever spent on anything 3D print related. Print quality is just as good, if not better than other brands of PLA that cost double. Printed on my Prusa XL using stock Prusament PLA settings. Could not be happier!
  • Good filament all around! No need to buy other name brand expensive filaments
It’s good filament. It extrudes nice and clean. Inter-layer bonding is good. Surface finish is a little on the glossy side but not bad. It just lays down NICE. Its well behaved. I bought the basic black and its a nice black, not thin and weak like other filaments. No need to buy Hatchbox or Atomic, this is just as good if not better behaved just WAY less expensive. Don’t be fooled that its a non-name budget filament- its better than that! No worries about mystery brand, this is good stuff.Initially I bought it on a recommendation of a friend who tried it and liked it. I wanted to use as a cheap prototype and test print filament, but its so nice and well behaved I use it for tester AND final prints. Use KISS slicer to print temp tuning and destring wizards to dial in your temps and retracts. I found that this prints better on the lower end of the temp range 195C-200C , 4.5mm retract for my 650mm bowden.I have not tried the build surface yet, I will and update my review. It seems like it will work well. The spool itself is nice. I like the windows on the side for filament remaining. I wish that there was some more reference data on the label- like filament density and conversion numbers for things like cm^3/m, g/m and the like. It seems like when you need a number like that you can not find it. I REALLY like the paper ruler too, its actually pretty handy. Data might be nice there too.The box it comes in is one of the clam-shell types. I use it for part and component storage when its empty too. I wish that they consider the box reuse after printing for stuff like that. I like that it does not have a window that I have to tape up.The multi-packs are next on my list. I hope that they can keep a consistent quality and price point, maybe add a few more colors.EDIT: I got another roll delivered today and thought to update my review with some unboxing pictures. I omitted in my initial review a compliment about the roll packaging. The roll comes vacuum sealed in a reusable silver mylar bag. This is a REALLY nice feature as some of teh so called ‘premium’ filament vendors charge $2.50 per bag! the bag keeps out light and moisture better than plain poly bags usually used. You can see the printed cardstock ruler and the included build surface in the second photo. Like I said, I like the carboard box type: I reuse them for parts and roll storage.
  • Great, but filament keeps breaking when stored
I’m new to 3d printing but I doubt this is common. I’ve only tested the black and white filament, but they both have this issue. When I’ve finished a print and leave the printer for a day or so, I’ll come back and find that if there’s any slight angle left in the filament where it’s fed into the machine, it’ll break there. Likewise, even just weaving the filament through the holes in the spool that are designed for that results in the filament breaking after about a day. I’ve started to get in the habit of turning off my machine with the z axis set much higher to keep the spool from sitting with an angle which could notably could be a design flaw of my machine Jgmaker magic, but having the filament break just from storing it is frustrating. Both of these result in the filament unwinding and wasted filament, which sucks. That frustration aside, it prints great. It adheres very well to the print bed (perhaps too well). The quality is very good too, with virtually no anomalies throughout big prints. All of my prints have been pretty clean and consistent. All in all it’s great filament. Just be careful when letting it sit for prolonged periods of time. If it’s left with any semi-hard angle, it’ll break there.
  • Works well on Bambu A1, with some easy tweaks
Worked well in my Bambu Lab A1, with some slight tweaks. I found that lowering the nozzle temp to 210, and keeping the heatbed on 65 or 70 let this print perfectly. If using the stock Overture settings on the A1 I had some adhesion issues, and would get some stringing on larger flat surfaces, but the settings I mentioned above cleared that right up.Very affordable filament and looks great when printed.

What Customers Say:

  • Has not bonded on me yet and prints come out great.
No binding for me yet I’m almost done with the roll. Quality is nice too. It works great in my flash forge. I’m well pleased with the tesxture. Easy to use as well, the look is nice and shinny and smooth to the touch.
  • Excellent filament, super great price!
Fantastic filament for the buck. I used a few spools of this printing some pegboard panels and the related brackets, and every print was perfect. Color was completely consistent from spool to spool. Each spool has arrived sealed and dry and ready to print, right out of the package. I am using this in an BambuLabs A1 and ithas so far performed flawlessly. Doesn’t smell weird (at least to me!) Excellent finish, all of the textures on everything print exactly as expected. Strength seems to be on par with BambuLabs and Inland PLA. Zero complaints, I will continue to buy this filament.
  • Smooth Printing and Great Quality!
This filament prints beautifully right out of the box. The diameter is very consistent, which helps prevent clogs and under-extrusion. It adheres to the bed perfectly and produces clean, strong prints with a nice finish. The spool is neatly wound, and I’ve had zero tangling issues. Excellent value for money — perfect for both beginners and experienced 3D printing users!
  • Great Quality Filament – Prints Perfectly on My X1 Carbon
I picked up this SUNLU PLA bundle to use with my Bamboo Labs X1 Carbon, and it’s been fantastic so far. The filament feeds smoothly, prints cleanly, and the colors really pop once the models are done. What sold me on this brand was actually my son – his school has been using SUNLU filament for their projects, and he spoke really highly of it. That definitely influenced my decision, and I’m glad I listened. The spools are neatly wound, come well-packed, and the consistency has been spot on. Overall, it’s been a reliable and high-quality choice that I’ll be sticking with.
  • Needs fine adjustments on temperature
On the first layer, when I was calibrating the filament with a flow test, I could see little marks of crystallization. I’m by no means a ‘good’ 3D print guy, but it seems this stuff is very touchy. I had to run the calibration a few times with different settings, wasting quite a bit, to get good resultsAt first I was having issues with this filament printing at a decent temperature. It was always showing signs of excessive high heat, even though I was following the box recommendations, and looked to be too ‘sticky’ and stuck to the nozzle and left stringing. Finally I decided to monitor a print and started from the maximum heat and dialed it down degree by degree. When I stopped seeing stringing and issues, I kept the temperature where it was. The magic temperature for my Bambu Lab P1S happened to be 207 degrees (C). I had to throw in a textured PEI plate to get it to stick. One of the tricks for printing in transparent filament, I have heard, is to use gyroid infill, if you’re going for max see-thru abilities. I haven’t personally tried it yet. As others have stated, it’s opaque, not transparent. That’s just the catchy name that draws in people who don’t understand what happens when you heat a plastic material. This stuff isn’t Polycarbonate (PC) or Acrylic (PMMA).This filament is quite non-flexible, and will shatter when bent, in my experience. The filament is more translucent than transparent. The image seen thru the PLA will be ~60% more dim and looks as though you’re looking at it thru a full water bottle. You can still see color thru it, but if you’re expecting a PET water bottle or glass pane transparency then good luck!I set my textured PEI print bed for 70 C on first layer – After first layer it reduces to 65 C. The nozzle will print at 210 C for first layer and then 207 C after that. The flow rate is set for 1.029. Minimum Volumetric speed of 50mm³/s – Max speed of 70 mm³/s. Recommended nozzle heat range was set for 200-210. Like I said before, I am not a print expert or even a novice.. I am a beginner. I just played with the settings until it looked like it was working good.Contradictions exist between the box and the included manual/pamphlet, in terms of temperatures.
  • Good Color Good Filament
The green filament was a very nice color and it prints very nicely right out of the box it came in. I had minimal stringing before drying. The spool came tangle free and looked very nice.
  • Great for the price
For the price it is good quality, creates high quality prints, and has run well in both of my printers
  • Possible Contamination Concern
I received a vacuum sealed 4-pack of black PLA and started using in on the final plate of a multi plate build. About 30 minutes into the process, the nozzle clogged and the printer continued to print ‘air’ for the remainder of the time. I found a clog and restarted the plate. About 30 minutes into this plate another clog occurred. Declogged and moved on. After the third clog, I swapped out the hotend and recalibrated everything. Then the 4th clog happened and I almost lost my mind. Reviewing the previous partially completed plates, I noticed small particles of what appeared to be brown corrugated cardboard embedded in several spots which was obviously the issue. I swapped to a completely different batch of black and completed the print with no further issues. I examined the spool of the contaminated filament and found there was indeed cardboard, or some other similar ‘dust’ statically stuck in the spool of black i was using. Since this is the first issue I have ever had with Sunlu, I will write it off as a single event but be careful and perhaps examine your spools extra carefully and remove the static as best you can with a dryer sheet on the side of the spool. I am uncertain if it would help, but it surely couldn’t hurt. I have submitted a ticket to Sunlu but have yet to receive a response.

  • Good Filament overall, Just wanted to update my earlier review and clear this up!
Update 10/04/2024: BACK AFTER 1 DAY SHY OF A YEAR! So it turns out the filament wasn’t the issue, but was a hot end fan and a power supply fan that were causing the issue. Apparently they were both dying and not cooling the heat sync and/ or power supply adequately. Those were causing intermittant issues with almost all filaments other than one brand that starts with and O.This filament is printing really well currently, and havent had an issue with since doing a major overhaul of my entire hotend assembly and replacing the powersupply fan.5 Stars for Quality of the filament5 Stars for quality of the prints with the filament5 Stars for Elegoo Customer Service (Though they should get 10!)5 Stars for Elegoo all around from me!———————————————————————————————————-Update 10/05/23: If I could rate customer service at Elegoo, I would give it 5 stars! Very responsive, and willing to try to get issues taken care of in a timely manner. However, I am settling on a 2 star review of Elegoo’s PLA and PLA+. I was sent 2 rolls of their PLA+ to replace the PLA rolls that I purchased, and spent the better part of 2 evenings experiencing the same issues that I originally had with their regular PLA (Under extrusion, clogging, etc.). I even went back and used my filament drier on both of the previously purchased rolls of PLA for 60 hours each, and still am unable to print with them. I love Elegoo, and will always recommend their resin/resin printers, but I can not recommend their filament at this time. I’m going to try to dry out the PLA+ rolls for 80 hours each and see if that makes a difference.Update 09/25/23: Adding 2 stars to my original review. Elegoo customer service was super quick and friendly with a response and reached out to me to offer an option to replace or refund my purchase. I chose to have them replace the rolls, and they stated that they would be sending out their PLA+. Will update review again once I get a chance to test out the new rolls!I bought 2 spools of the black, and printed just fine through half of the first one. Then I started havingissues with adhesion, under extrusion, and clogs in my hot end. I was printing at 205C, and leved the bed between each failed print just to rule those 2 factors out. I even tried to increase the temp, but still had print failure after print failure. So I thought maybe the filament had taken on some moisture. I opened the second roll, and the SAME issues developed.I love most other Elegoo products, but would steer clear of this filament for now.
  • Perfect for mass printed parts, cosplay or anything that must be black.
This is for Elegoo Black PLAOne of my 3 go to Brands for cheap blackwhite filament for Cosplay and large prints that will get printed.I print on a P1S 8 color AMS. I use this brand A LOT because it’s cheap and 100% reliable. Never had clogging or stringing issues and i use the default PLA profile in Bambu Studio. No tweaking of profiles or settings to get this to print perfect the first time. Bed adhesion is perfect ( should be for everyone, just CLEAN YOUR BED PROPERLY lol).SInce this is just plain black PLA there is no need to upload a photo of anything i’ve printed.
  • Beautifully smooth, even, detailed prints with a nice matte finish!
I bought a spool of ELEGOO beige color for a project. It started off with a couple MAJOR issues with bed adhesion: after small successful tests, I ran the large main job. over halfway through, parts detached from the bed mid-print and collided with other parts, knocking them loose and ending up with a huge spaghetti tangle. I lost a distressingly large amount of filament on that failure – I didn’t weigh it, but I estimate nearly half the spool. I’m contacting their support line in hopes they’ll help replace the lost material somehow, since their suggested bed temp range didn’t work at all. (I’ll update with how their service is.)I did some trial-and-error adjusting on the suggested bed temps, and lost some more material in the process. I’ll have to look back and see what temps I ended up with, and edit this review to add them in case it helps anyone else. After the temperature adjustments, the project printed impressively well. Smooth matte finish, minuscule layer lines, and a nice beige color tone. After the unfortunate waste from the first failures and the finished main project, I decided to print another small detailed project with the leftover filament.I purchased an .stl model of the gargoyle candelabras in Disney’s Haunted Mansion “stretching room”. The last two pics are the originals in Walt Disney World, for reference. (The 3D model is by SERGIMEN3DART on cults3d.)I fired off this smal-scale version before committing to a full-size print. The model is split into 7 parts. I printed them at .10 layer height on my Prusa MINI+. They came out waaaay better than I expected… especially at such a small size! It’s about 160mm wide, total.I quickly removed the support material and dry-fit the parts together. No other post-processing has been done. With a couple birthday candles clutched in his fists and an appropriate perch, he’s ready for some pre-paint review pics. The details are sharp and clean, and the layer lines are almost invisible to the naked eye. I’ve still got to do some light cleanup, then prime, paint, and weather him up. He’ll be a perfect lil watch guard, sitting on the shelf above my desk to keep an eye on things and ward off bad vibes and evil spirits. ;)I’ll definitely be buying more of this filament. Just gotta decide which color I could use next….
  • Good Color and Easy to Print PLA Filament
I’ve been using this brand of filament for quite some time now, and it’s consistently delivered reliable, high-quality results. As long as the filament is kept dry and stored properly away from moisture and environmental exposure. I’ve never experienced brittleness or breakage during prints. Likewise, tangling has never been an issue. Maintaining proper tension on the spool and avoiding slack prevents any snags; in my experience, filament tangles are almost always due to user error. For this particular roll, I ran it straight out of the box on both my Bambu Labs X1C and P1S AMS using the Generic PLA profile, and it performed flawlessly. No need to respool; it ran smoothly through the AMS. The prints came out crisp and clean, with zero stringing and excellent layer adhesion. Support structures detached easily and left behind a clean surface finish. The filament arrived vacuum-sealed with a desiccant packet, so it was ready to use immediately; no drying required. The color was exactly what I needed for the skin tones of the characters I was printing: a soft, natural matte finish with no unwanted shine.

  • Great PETG for my project. 250C was sweet spot, and prints perfect on Sovol SV07+ PEI bed.
Grass Green is pretty close to Ryobi’s green. I printed PETG and found 250C, the max, was best. I also noticed it printed more shiny at higher temps. Duller at lower. 70C bed was fine and 80C no different on Sovol SV07 PEI bed. Fast led to problems. Sweet spot was around 38mm/sec for walls. If I dialed it up to 50mm/sec then stringing started. On a roll sitting for about 3-4 weeks it did pick up moisture which can cause your nozzle to accumulate some excess. Keep an eye out for it. If you come back to a final print with little extra blobs, it’s probably knocked off the nozzle as it moved around.I used Cura default for wall thickness but I did drop my layers to 1.6mm for better arches. I didn’t use bed adhesion (brim, raft, etc), bridges or supports but I also kept all my angles gradual. Look at the pic and you’ll see they are basically circles.I used 20% infill as well as 30%. No real difference. When setting the power drills on the bracket arms, they only deflect maybe 1-2mm. Barely noticeable. Yes, by hand you can make it deflect 5-6mm but this is just to organize my tools, not create a climbing wall that will support lots of weight.I printed all of what you see with 1 spool. I have a 2nd loaded to do a ton of more tool wall brackets, but wanted to get this review up. If your print has started, and you have moisture issues, try bumping the temp up and keep an eye on it. You may get through it bumping 5 degrees at a time to watch for change. In my case, it was in the infill area, and so it’s “entombed” inside. When I ramped up to 60mm/sec and got to higher layers, like around 300 of 500 (again, 1.6mm height layers) it did start to have issues rising a bit, and catching upon hot end return. I reduced the speed back to 32, and dropped the fan from 20% to 10% and the clipping stopped for a perfect finish. I do also use glue pen for adhesion to the bed, but even on a clean bed (no glue pen) I still had great adhesion.Finish is great. No stringing if I keep speeds down. Strong as you’d expect from PETG. I am super happy. I did read reviews that were negative but didn’t have problems. The storage bag is resealable which is really nice. Spool did not detach on either spools. My filament was unopened on both rolls, ordered about 4 weeks apart.I will definitely order this product again as I get more of my power tools wall mounted, and when I get a chance I will upload the STL files to Thingiverse. I created these prints on TinkerCad. website, exported STL into Cura and then sliced GCode sent to Sovol SV07Plus.
  • A high quality PETG at a great price
Filament came tightly vacuum sealed in a UV resistant silver plastic. It printed beautifully right out of the box without needing a drying cycle. The diameter is consistent, with no under- or over-extrusion. I did have to adjust the Flow Rate down slightly on my X1 Carbon – I think it veeeery slightly over-extrudes on the first layer, and dropping the Flow Rate to 0.93 seems to help. I have not experienced any clogging issues with the filament. I have printed well beyond the 50mm/s speed recommended in the pamphlet with no stringing issues, even with a nozzle temp of 255C.The black color I purchased is well pigmented and opaque. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. I also bought a spool of PETG white that I haven’t used yet, but I expect similar results.
  • Good quality filament!
High quality filament at a fair price. I really enjoy Overture filament, it prints very well on my 3d printer. It is PETG though, so it needs to be dried (That’s to be expected.) Dry it at 50c for 24 hours then store it in a dessicant dry box. The finished prints have a nice finish on them, and I don’t have any issues with filament tangles. As far as consistency, I don’t buy enough to comment on that, but it performs very well!
  • Update…user error. Read for details on what it took to get this PETG to print on my E3v2 Neo.
UPDATED REVIEW: Getting this PETG to print was a real struggle for me but… it ended up eventually working so in all fairness I’ve upped my review stars and I take credit for this as “user error”. What it boiled down to was print speed.I was working with common slicer templates for PETG which print around 50mm/sec and I see other people reporting success at that speed but, it was a total mess for me. I found a few reviews that suggested turning the speed way down so I tried it and it made all the difference.I am working with a new Ender 3 v2 Noe with PEI build plate. Using about 240 nozzle and 80 bed. My esteps are calibrated spot on, and my flow calibrated to about about 88 for this material in my machine and these temps. I turned the main print speed down to 30mm/sec and the initial layers, supports, and walls down to 15mm/sec and it completely changed my printing experience with this material.***HERE IS MY INITIAL REVIEW BEFORE I DISCOVERED SLOWING DOWN THE PRINT SPEED***Based on other reviews and pictures, it seems some people have had great results with this filament. My expectations are low, I just wanted decent results as my prints are mostly functional and I am not overly concerned with aesthetics. Unfortunately after hours of testing and tuning I have not achieved a single acceptable result and will likely give up with this Overature PETG.The filament arrived sealed, I have stored it in a vacuum bag and use a heated filament holder when printing. My machine is a new E3v2 Neo with capricorn PTFE tube and a bi-metal heat break. I also print in an enclosure. ZERO luck with this roll of PETG.The pictures show two temp towers, the one on the left I printed with TECBEARS PLA and the one on the right with Overature PETG. Yes, PLA is nice to work with and as you can see, the PLA tower printed clean starting with 215 and 180 on the top; all layers were good with just a little stringing at the top cooler levels. Again, I just hoped for acceptable results with the PETG; I started at 245 on the bottom with 85 bed temp and finished at 215 on the top layer. All levels look terrible. My e-steps are tuned perfect, I did several flow tests printing single and double walled cubes which resulted in overflow and an adjusted flow rate of 88 which resulted in good flow test results on the test cubes but still most all prints fail, I barely got this temp tower shown in my pictures to print and as you can see, it is terrible in all regards.I have done a ton of tests for 1st layer adhesion and z-offset, my bed is super level (I use octoprint to visualize) and I’ve tried a few z-offset adjustments, no love… My last 1st layer tests turned out good and then I go to print and it wont stick, the filament globs up on the print head and smears around. I absolutely must have a brim, or better yet a raft or my print fails on the first layer.Sure, some folks have had good luck although I’ve put in the time and a lot of effort and I give up; I cannot get this filament to produce a useable print on my E3v2 Neo.I am not the only one reporting these challenges, maybe Overature has quality control issues with their PETG? Maybe I never found the perfect adjustments but I sure tried and I have to move on now, I can’t spend my whole life trying to get a filament to produce “OK” results.***SEE TOP OF REVIEW FOR UPDATED SUCCESS STORY***

  • Smooth prints with no clogs
Grabbed this eSUN PLA Basic for some quick-turn 3D prints, and it absolutely works perfect. Feeds smooth, no clogs, no drama, and the finish is clean even at faster speeds. Great color, great consistency, and the spool runs like it’s on rails. For everyday printing or rapid prototyping, this filament punches way above its price point. I bought 3 other colors as well and they work great!
  • I love eSun!!
ESun is one of the best and most cost efficient filament brands out there! I’ve never had any issues with this brand and I’m an experienced 3D printer operator and shop owner
  • Very high quality prints
Used on my Bambu H2S. Was extremely high quality output, arguably better than native Bambu PLA.
  • It works good for the price and looks good too.
Works great and does not bunch up. The print quality is great too. And the size is perfect. The stringing is not an issue it clogged once on me however but it’s expected once in a while. And heat resistance is good.
  • Amazing
Looks good has good print quality, no tangles. Overall amazing filement! (Works super well with tealight) *The filement is the white in the picture*
  • Quality print and color
Great filament and got me out of a bind I was in. Used generic heat setting and a 220 mm/s speed setting with no issues. Did not notice any bubbling or stringing. Color is spot in and the print quality came out great. Price is also a plus.
  • Solid choice for filament
Smooth filament. Doesn’t clog or have any funky smells. The filament itself prints smooth and its one of my wives favorite colors so she tends to ask for prints in this particular shade. The filament wasn’t stringy or brittle. Very easy to use. I would buy this again.
  • Will update soon
Package arrived and looked as expected. Haven’t had a chance to set up the printer yet so I’ll update the review when I test it out. Besides that the color is great! Looks just as good as the photos

What Customers Say:

  • My Go-To Filament
This is the good stuff. Great $/KGIt’s a little stringy, but that is probably from me not bothering to tune it.Printed parts look great, and the 3KG roll means less roll changing and allows for large batches of prints. It’s so nice to be able to start prints knowing you have enough filament.I built a custom 3KG Dry box because of humidity levels. I would recommend buying or printing a spool holder with bearings or your extruder will have to pull 3KG of friction…
  • No clogs with a 0.1mm nozzle and a 0.04mm layer height
They say pla plus clogs easier on fine prints because of the additives. I just completed a flawless print with a 0.1mm nozzle and a 0.04mm height. A 42 good print that turned out perfect. Can not ask for better.
  • The BEST PLA white filament.
This is the most consistent, smooth printing PLA I have found.I’ve used 25 rolls of this white filament and have had zero issues. It’s always evenly wound on the spool with no tangles. Now it usually comes on the newer style reusable spool that is just like the Bambu Labs spools, so the diameter is the same for flawless performance in both Nambu Labs AMS, AMS 2 PRO and AMS LITE.I Don’t have a print farm, just a hobbyist with 4 Bambu printers.
  • Strong, Smooth, and Surprisingly Smart Plastic
SUNLU PLA+ 2.0 is the quiet workhorse of filaments—prints clean, grips the bed like it means it, and adds strength without the brittleness most PLA+ brands sneak in. Layers fuse tight, color is consistent, and it doesn’t mind long runs if your temps stay steady. It’s the upgrade you actually notice, not just read about.
  • Great PLA and color!
I really like SUNLU’s PLA+ filament, I have it in a few colors and it always seems to print well with my ender 3 v2. I used this orange for some pumpkin designs and they came out perfectly–nice and smooth, great color, and it always seems to adhere to my plate well which some filaments I need to use a little bit of a glue stick to assist with.
  • Great Stuff
This looks a little more like PETG. Glossier, harder, I like it. I try to avoid PETG because it is not biodegradable. I have already printed 4 reels and no problems.
  • Quality filament that is wound to confound
Seems to be a quality PLA filament. It is extruding and feeding and printing well, but I did bump up my extruder temp to 215C and my bed to 58C. Those may just be preferences of my old worn out printer. My only complaint so far, and why I couldn’t give it 5 stars, was because when Satan himself wound it on the spool, he used a small tab of black electrical tape of the same color and sheen as the PLA filament itself. Then he buried it beneath some winds of filament, so there was no apparent end to the line. I turned on all the lights and wore reading glasses, and beelzebub had hid that free end so well I never found it. There were 6 places on the beautiful spools that the free end could have been fed through and taped, but that isn’t how mephistopheles likes to roll. I ended up pulling about 20 feet of filament off the GD spool before the free end was loose. Then I had to try and rewind it which was effing kink city which was more like sodom and gomorrah and less like fun porn. Gah. There is a reason these are cheap. FFS Sunlu use a different color of tape than the filament itself.
  • What’s not to love?
I keep coming back to SUNLU for the price and quality. im sure that is how they keep the price low by keeping the primary colors at a good price. My only problem with brittleness was when I left a spool out of a storage bag for a extended period of time. Even after drying it was brittle. So that one was on me. But I have never had a new spool be moist right out of the box. I have been using a .97/.98 flow rate with my CC for most of sunlu filaments with a .4 nozzle. No issues with bed adhesion and after the plate cools down it releases great.

What Customers Say:

  • Consistently Reliable and Excellent Quality Filament!
I’ve used a lot of different PLA+ brands, and eSUN continues to be one of the most dependable options out there. The filament feeds smoothly with zero tangles or breaks, and the diameter consistency is spot-on, resulting in precise, clean prints every time. Layer adhesion is excellent, and the surface finish comes out beautifully glossy without needing any extra tuning. This PLA+ also has great toughness compared to standard PLA — parts feel stronger and less brittle, perfect for both functional prototypes and aesthetic prints. It sticks well to the bed without warping, and cleanup after printing is effortless. If you want a filament that performs well across different printers and print speeds, eSUN PLA+ is a solid choice. Great value for the quality and reliability!
  • Best Filament on my Ender 3 (2020 version)
Tried quite a few different types, high rated etc. This one shines above all in my setup. Most prints come out with no issue other than technicalities usually from the user/printer itself.Hoping to find many colors and types from eSun, and get the Ender H1 because things…are working! This was not the case with other filaments, fyi, and had us almost give up!Filament brand, type, and all the tiny specs matter. This works.
  • Great quality prints!
I switched from Hatchbox PLA to eSun PLA plus to try something new. I’m glad I did. The prints came out just as good and are alot more durable. I highly recommend this filament!
  • Great filament
Great filament, I have been using this for years and it consistently been printing well and produces great quality.
  • Usually very good but can get a bad spool
I’ve already gone through 6 rolls of the stuff and it’s been great. The only reason it’s not five stars is because every once in a while you’ll likely get a spool that isn’t wound very well so you have to sit there and make sure it doesn’t catch on itself and ruin your print
  • Good filament!
Good quality filament, accurate dimension, print quality is what i would expect from eSun.
  • Reliable, Vibrant, and Smooth – Perfect for High-Quality Prints
I’ve used eSUN PLA+ for several projects now, and it consistently delivers excellent results. The Pine Green color in particular is stunning—deep, rich, and professional-looking without being overly glossy or flashy. Why I Love It:Prints Like a Dream: This PLA+ flows smoothly with no clogging or stringing. It adheres well to the bed (I use a glass plate) and layers bond cleanly for sharp, strong prints.Durable and Tough: Unlike regular PLA, this PLA+ has a bit of flex and doesn’t snap easily. It’s perfect for functional parts that need strength but don’t require ABS.Excellent Dimensional Accuracy: My prints came out to spec with zero warping or layer shift. The advertised ±0.03mm tolerance seems legit. No Weird Smells: While not completely odorless, this filament emits a very mild, inoffensive smell—definitely better than ABS or PETG in my experience.Consistent Roll: The filament is neatly wound and tangle-free. I’ve gone through nearly the whole spool without a single feeding issue.Minor Considerations:Requires a Bit Higher Temp Than Regular PLA: I print this at 210°C nozzle / 60°C bed, and it works perfectly. Just don’t assume it’ll behave like standard PLA at 190°C.Color Can Look Dark Indoors: The Pine Green is a beautiful shade, but depending on lighting it may appear almost forest green. Still elegant, just not neon bright.Final Verdict:If you’re looking for high-quality PLA+ that balances strength, reliability, and aesthetics, eSUN delivers. The Pine Green color is perfect for nature-themed prints, miniatures, cosplay props, and durable parts. I’ll definitely be buying more.
  • OK Filament, might require some tweek to settings
Having so so results with Flashforge Adventure 5M Pro. Have gotten ok prints but seems a little more finicky. Some adhesion to PEI bed issues, print does have smooth result but might require a little tuning.

What Customers Say:

  • Great customer service and product!
The print quality is great, but the spool wind in my experience was not good. I have the P1s with the AMS and the filament constantly jammed/tangled. I ended up respooling and keeping it, I have to say the customer service is phenomenal! They offered partial refund or a free spool so I chose the free spool option. The replacement has had zero issues so far, definitely buying from this company again!
  • What I needed
This 2 pack was prefect for the projects I have been doing. Great print quality. I’ve used Elegoo before and over never had a problem with quality.
  • No Issues With This Filament
I will admit, I was a bit nervous about buying this lesser-known filament at first. I am new to 3D printing and just do home prints. This filament is well packaged and comes vacuum sealed. I have not experienced any tangles, as I have with a few other filaments that I purchased. The color is consistent and the filament was very easy to work with. I printed a poop buddy, among a few other things with this filament. There have been no clogs, and it had strong adhesion to the bed and other filament when multi-color printing. I am glad I purchased this filament, I have bought it twice, and will definitely be buying more of this in the future
  • I actually dont hate FDM printing now
I’ve had a mostly hate-love relationship with 3d printing, and have always felt like its over promised and under delivered. This Filament has changed a lot of that. I bought some because it was inexpensive and I’m prototyping something currently and didn’t want to shell out what I do on other filaments….except this out performed the ones i pay more than double for. I’ve had near zero issues with warping or peeling off the bed. The layer lines are consistently cleaner than any other filament I’ve used resulting in amazingly smooth results.
  • Works fine, great value. Elegoo is one of my two main manufacturers.
Very good value. I bought them during Prime days, so even a better price. Elegoo is one of my go-to suppliers. The quality is good and the price excellent. = great value.I use 90% black and 5% white, but needed to fill in other colors for specialty use. I also needed something to fill the other feeds on my new Flashforge 5X, too. ????
  • Not worth it
Was cheap enough, and after using it I found out why. The filament is stuck to itself. I heard clicking from my 3D printer because my extruder didn’t have enough force to pull the filament off the spool. During prints I have to unroll and unstick a few feet of the filament and then roll it back up.UPDATE: Elegoo contacted me and offered me a complete refund. I had them send me a new roll of black instead. The new roll is printing fine. I’m still not giving 5 stars because I had this problem to begin with. But, great customer service. I will continue to buy this brand.

What Customers Say:

  • Bright, Reliable, and Easy to Print – Great Everyday PLA
I’ve been using this eSUN PLA Basic filament (Fire Engine Red) for several prints on my Bambu Lab A1, and I’m very pleased with the results. The color is exactly what I hoped for—a vivid, bold red that really pops on finished prints. It’s perfect for decorative models, toys, or anything that needs a strong visual impact.Printing performance is solid. It feeds smoothly, adheres well to the bed, and has very minimal stringing. I’ve been printing at around 200°C with a bed temp of 60°C, and haven’t had any clogs or layer adhesion issues. This filament isn’t “premium,” but it does exactly what it promises—consistent quality and reliable results for everyday projects. It’s also worth mentioning that it doesn’t have a strong smell during printing, and it’s easy to post-process if needed (sanding, painting, etc.). If you’re looking for a no-fuss, budget-friendly filament for general use, this one is a great pick. I’ll definitely be ordering more colors from eSUN in the future.
  • Quality print and color
Great filament and got me out of a bind I was in. Used generic heat setting and a 220 mm/s speed setting with no issues. Did not notice any bubbling or stringing. Color is spot in and the print quality came out great. Price is also a plus.
  • Solid Budget PLA – Perfect for Everyday Prints
Great value and prints well. Perfect for prints for my young daughter. I would love to see a plastic spool instead of cardboard as recommended by Bambu Labs for use in the AMS (eg. to avoid dust, debris, particles). No noticeable stringing and easy to install on the back spool mount of my P1S while waiting for the AMS accessories to arrive.Second photo shows the chin where the supports didn’t separate super clean, but a bit of light sanding cleaned it up (not pictured).
  • the Good, the Bad and the Ugly
So I wanted to give a full review after actually trying this filament. The Good: The price is fair for what you get and a the quality is so-so, but if you plan to only print small things and or are watching your printer every 30 mins, it’s fine for the $12 sale I got it for. I bought 2 rolls and this one *did* come vacuum sealed, the other color of the same brand was seal but not vacuum tight. The Bad: There isn’t consistency on how well this filament sticks to my build plate. the first small connector piece I had to pry it off with tools it was stuck so bad, the very next print the tree supports straight up didn’t stick. You aren’t guaranteed the vacuum seal will be in the bag. Also, the spool is VERY inconsistently wound. Meaning there will be snags and I have to watch this like a hawk every 20 min or so, which, for small prints is ok, but big prints will be a nightmare. The Ugly: like above, it doesn’t consistently stick and even if it does there isn’t always consistency with how much PLA extrudes from the tip while it’s printing. It was a fresh spool out the box and it’s more fickle than some of my 5+ old open spools I use to for test prints. I had it bird nest twice on me, and thankfully caught it early enough, but it’s gonna be a headache if that’s the quality of the whole spool.Again, I’m still giving this 4 stars just because of the price. if it’s on sale for the $12 or less, I feel like it might be worth the gamble if you’re cheap like me. It has penitential to work for people just fine, especially small and simple prints. Think like if you need a test-print spool you don’t care too much about. but there is little to no quality control from spool to spool. You just have to get lucky.
  • Perfect performance and quality
Printed beautifully with no tangles, bubbles or hiccups. The color is exactly the color my wife wanted for a hobby piece she was working.
  • Reliable and High-Quality Matte PLA
The media could not be loaded. The eSun High Speed Matte PLA has become my one of my top choices for printing. It loads easily, runs smoothly through the extruder, and produces crisp, clean prints with a beautiful matte finish. Even at higher speeds up to 600mm/s it performs flawlessly without clogging or stringing issues. What I appreciate most is the consistency and texture is good. No smell after printing and seals good. Every print comes out as expected, saving me time and material. If you need a fast, dependable filament that delivers excellent results, this one is a clear winner.
  • Low price because it’s cheap
Great price but I’m having some teething problems in my Bambu P1s. I bought the green and blue but have only printed the green so far.The green is having some minor adhesion problems. Seemed to get fixed after an alchohol wipe of my PEi plate. Also experiencing some stringing which I’m sure can be fixed in setting but hasn’t happened with other matte pla. My printer is also treating this filament like it’s wet even though it’s straight out of the packaging and into the AMS. And finally it’s seems a little sticky. A little like petg but only a little. Sticks to the poop chute now and then after color change and there’s usually some dangling from the nozzle too. Then the winding onto the spool seems a little off. It has bound enough to pause printing 3 times now. Slowing my whole workflow WAY down.I don’t think I’ll buy it again and I’m considering returning the unopened blue I bought.I don’t think this is good product if you’re trying to print and make $. But it’s also not good for a beginner who won’t know what to do with these problems.Probably not worth the low price
