    I ALWAYS purchase the extended warranty through Asurion, when available. I have kids and I have electronics -the two do not mix-. I purchase quite a bit of stuff from Amazon and have found Asurion to be a trusted company when protecting my purchases. I have NEVER been disappointed when filing a claim, which is around 5-6 claims to date. The price for coverage is reasonable and the claims process is simple. If Asurion cannot fix your item they refund the cost of your item (not including taxes, shipping or the cost of the insurance itself). My last claim involved a computer that only had 3 months left on the warranty. I accidentally spilled water on the keyboard and pffft, no more computer. I filed a claim, Asurion provided the return packaging and paid the shipping. They were not able to fix my computer due to the needed parts no longer being available. Within a week I was issued an Amazon gift card for the cost of the computer. You cannot go wrong with Asurion.

    In February of 2024 I bought a Lenevo laptop from Amazon, and thankfully bought the Asurion insurance. In October of 2024 the laptop died. Because it was still under warranty, I first had to ship the laptop to Lenovo for repairs. The problem was not covered under their warranty. They shipped the laptop back to me. I then had to ship the laptop to Asurion. They tried but could not fix the laptop so they gave me an Amazon gift card for the value I paid for the laptop.This all took 6 weeks to complete and was a pain in the neck, but at least I got my money back! Since then I bought a HP laptop, never buying Lenovo again. I bought the Asurion insurance again as they were great to work with.

  • Do not buy insurance from Asurion
    This was insurance protection for a laptop. Lap top stopped working during the coverage period. I sent for repair and in a couple of week they said they couldn’t repair and reimbursing money. Wow, then the journey started. I call them, explain it for about 20-30 mins, then they apologize unnecessarily and says they messaged their whatever the other office is and asking to wait 72 hours. I call back in 3 days, have to explain from the beginning and go through the same process. This went on at least 8 times, for many weeks. When you asked for a supervisor they put you on hold and call gets dc. This was my son’s school laptop and he had to cope with this. One day I was able to get hold of a supervisor, he name was Marian, and she was so helpful. She took care of it and called me back in a couple of days. They said it was a problem in their system and resolved it. Finally after several days I got my money back.This was now one off issue. I had a insurance bought from same company Asurion for my son’s trumpet before. We had to send it for a repair. They kept the trumpet without returning for weeks, we had to get a loner. Again one day I was able to get hold of a rep who was kind enough to track it down.Bottom line, never ever I will buy insurance from Asurion again. This is a scam company and do not get into trouble like I did.

    My order was placed and received within 3 days. My husband was working with Windows 10 which crashed on him, and he received the infinite blue screen. His hard drive crashed. He was having issues prior to the crash with many time outs and a lot of sluggishness. My husband is very pleased with his new laptop. We are retired and he mostly uses it to play games. There weren’t any instructions with it as far as setting up the laptop which made setup a bit challenging if you’re not IT savvy, but I got it up and running for him. He said Windows 11 is fast. There aren’t any time outs or sluggish activity. We are very pleased with the purchase and with the prompt order processing received. If we need another, we will definitely consider this same laptop. As an FYI, this laptop does not have a CD player but we’re okay with that since we didn’t use that anyway.

    The experience is very fast and easy. You file the claim, they send you packing materials and a postage paid label, follow their instructions, seal up the box, and UPS it to them. They fix your item and return the item to you. The trouble I had, first, let me start with, I work in the technology business, so I do this kind of work all the time, but I bought the coverage so that while the kids are at school, they can get this fixed on their own. The computer had to go in for service because one day it wouldn’t turn on. Based on the symptoms I would’ve changed the battery, but, it’s under warranty so send it in. It came back working which is the main point, but it didn’t come back with the charger it was sent with. The charger they sent works fine, but you can tell it was used with less than careful hands and not like the one that was cared for and sent in. The other thing was, the hard drive was wiped clean and there’s no explanation of why. Again, being I do this line of work, I’m curious to know why it had to be wiped clean. Maybe there was something more wrong than the battery; I doubt it, the computer wouldn’t even power up to the BIOS, so clearly a power issue. But without some kind of closing notes of what was done to repair the issue, we’ll never know what was wrong with it. But to end on a positive note, the computer works perfectly again so that’s the important part.

  • Disappointed for first time in 15 years.
    I am having difficulty with my computer that was purchased on September 19, 2025 and delivered on September 21, 2025. I used the computer and was able to print on my Epson which was great. Then on October 28th, 2025 I could no longer print. I called and was connected to a Mary in the Philippines. She worked on the computer for over 4 hours then I was so upset because she could not get it to print. I told her to call me back the next day and she did but I did not recognize the number and it said Potential Scam. No message was left. I contacted Epson who looked at the computer and said that there were critical and other downloads onto my computer but they would charge me $239,99 to clean it. All were during the time Mary was working on the computer. The printer had no problem. I did not have them do anything. I then connected my old computer which was operational and I was able to print from it. I then tried the new computer and no printing but it says it is saving the piece. At this point I am afraid to call Asurion but disappointed because I have used Asurion in the past with all of my electronic items. Mary spent a lot of her time taking about the new unlimited package that would be great but will it work. At this time I want someone to call me or send me an email regarding fixing the damage done by Mary or replacing my computer.

    I had problems with my laptop long after manufacturer warranty expired, and I initiated the warranty service. The service process was clear, but slow. They had an automated system to keep me updated when they shipped the box, received my laptop, and were working on it each day. The box was shipped slow, but they overnighted the laptop. Took them almost two weeks to reach a final conclusion on the repair. Do not rely on this for uptime/critical repairs. They did not advertise next day or quick repair and I did not pay for it, so I expected that going in and got a backup laptop first.I will purchase this again at the price and the straightforward service.

    I’m updating this review here because Amazon handled it so well. Asurion deserves 0 stars. All my experience with Asurion suggest it’s rather sophisticated scam. I do not understand why they have not been stopped. But if I could rate Amazon for the way they handled this case, I would give them 5 stars.Here’s the story. This is the third time I have bought an Asurion policy and been denied. All three were bogus denials. This one is probably the most outrageous. I bought the policy WITH the computer. They just wrote me this message,”We reviewed your LENOVO LAPTOP claim.The information on your claim does not match the contact information on your account.As a result, we’re unable to approve your claim.”WHAT????? I BOUGHT IT WITH THE COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!Again, I’ve done this before. What they do is wear you down. You call 10 times, every time you have to get a code, put it in. And it’s not a simple code. It’s mixed with caps and numbers, as if they’re trying to make it difficult. I mean really, are the Russians listening? Twice I’m giving the person on the phone the information, I’m almost done, phone drops. It reminds me of when I was a kid and I worked at a gas station on the interstate. The guys would do things like let poke a hole in peoples tires while they were in the restroom. Or car would overheat because of the radiator, the mechanics would sell them a fanbelt clutch. Asurion appears to be a scam. What surprises me is that it can occur at this level and on a site like Amazons’. The executives must know that it’s a scam.Here’s an update. The story gets even better. I just spent 83 minutes on the phone with Amazon. They verified my purchase and the I bought the 4 year insurance policy. So then they put me on hold and after about 10 minutes the person comes back on, says that they have Asurion rep on the line and they will take care of everything. Amazon leaves and I’m talking to Asurion. The women checks and says, no, no, you bought an HP for $855 and an insurance plan for $800. Well that sounds real account like and professional except that I’m looking at the receipts and that’s not at all what bought. I bought a LENOVA for $1,150 and a plan for $1,000 to $1,299. “No sir, you bought…..” “Yes mam, BUT I AM LOOKING AT THE RECEIPTS. ” Then she tells m, “Well, Amazon must have made a mistake.” Very hard to believe because the receipts I have are from Amazon…So back on the phone with Amazon, 35 minutes to confirm again that yes, I bought a LENOVA for $1,150 and a plan for $1,000 to $1,299…..So now what? Amazon writes a message to ASURION. And now we are in limbo. Mind you, Asurion already had me mail my precious laptop to a repair shop. 10 DAYS AGO!!!!So the the denouement. I call Amazon, and say that Asurion won’t honor the policy, won’t even acknowledge it. Amazon refunds all the money for the computer and the Asurion policy. Imagine! I’ve been through things like this before. Usually, other companies, they give you a $100 gift certificate, or some cheap consolation. We need more corporate culture like Amazon.

    I did not read the fine print. I did not know that I would be reimbursed fully with an Amazon gift card, as opposed to a check or a Visa card, meaning I have to spend the $1,171.99 only on Amazon. Other than that, Asuron was adequate.

    I had an issue with my laptop and I am so happy that I had the insurance. All I had to do was start a claimThey shipped me a packing box and instructions. I packed it up and sent it back. All was fixed in about 2 weeks (parts were needed). I will never not purchase insurance on an expensive item. Thank you Asurion, so worth it even if I did not have to use you in the past.

    I was having issues with my computer that I’d purchased in February 2022 so I reached out an was quickly sent a return box to send my computer to Asurion for repair. Withing a few days after they received it I received notice that parts had been ordered. About a week later I was advised that it was unrepairable and they advised they had emailed me a voucher for $1022 which is what I’d paid originally. I wanted the same computer but it was no longer available but with the guidance of my computer guy selected another for the same price AND purchased another protection plan for 4 years. The whole process took a little over 2 weeks but I’d already purchased another computer and had transferred everything over to it so I was not not without a computer during the process.Very happy with the results and in ordering another computer from Amazon have purchased another protection plan for 4 years.

    I have a 6 year old autistic boy. He uses his tablet to interact with others and for games. On MULTIPLE occasions he’s broken said tablet. Usually, it’s the charging port that fails or a cracked screen. I have sent his tablet to be repaired by Asurion many times. Each time, it is returned within a few days, completely repaired. Most recently, I needed to have the charging port fixed in his new tablet. Being that it was less than 1 year old, the repair falls under manufacturer’s warranty. I contacted Samsung and sent the tablet to them. After more than a week, I got it back. It returned in subpar packaging (basically a bag) with zero information on the repair. When I tried to charge it, it was already not charging correctly. I called Samsung and found out they did not do the repair. According to them, the tablet was an international model and they can’t get the parts if it’s international. NO. ONE. SAID. A. THING. This should’ve been identified prior to my sending the device to them. Even if they missed it, you would think they would’ve notified me. They did not. Not even a note in the return package. Frustrated, I contacted Asurion. They were happy to handle it, the tablet was sent to them and is been returned in great condition, no problems, sturdy packaging, within a week. I would absolutely encourage anyone to entrust their device with Asurion. I could not be more pleased with the reliable service I receive from Asurion!!! Samsung, not so much.

    It did take 21/2 hours, 10 people and one supervisor. IF you buy Assurion from Amazon, it is totally different than your phone carrier. Keep copies of all invoices( they want amount paid without tax and insurance, they will want serial number, date of purchase and the kitchen sink. Once I spoke with Sandra, the supervisor, it was smooth sailing from then. However, the device I had ordered was the communication device for my disabled granddaughter. They want you to send in device to see if it can be fixed and then send another one or the repaired device .Two weeks approximately to get it back. So she refunded the amount paid less taxes and shipping and I ended up buying the same device for $120 more than the original. The protection plan is NOT good for four years. It is good for one repair!!!!

So I’m out the $85 I spent on this “warranty”.The only thing they warrantied was the fact that they got my money.– the first review I wrote is below:Like most 3rd party warranty services, Asurion does its best to stall and frustrate you when you attempt to file a claim. Expect to spend 2-3 hours chatting, answering email, supplying model number, serial number, proof of purchase, and so on.I’m still waiting for a response.

    I recently had to use my warranty on my granddaughter’s Apple Ipad Pro. We initially had the runaround with Amazon and Apple. Needless to say, I was fortunate enough to have purchased an extended warranty from Asurion. The claim process was pain-free, and the return was relatively easy. They had an answer to me within 1 day of receipt of the Ipad and a gift card for over $700. This is the second time that spending the extra $159 for the warranty has paid for itself 10-fold. I would not buy an Amazon refurbished product without this coverage. If it’s not offered, I move on to another product. I get it’s a lot of money when you’re already spending over $700 on a product. However, this saved me from having to shell out another $700 after only 1 year of owning it and being stuck with a very expensive brick. Well worth every penny. Thanks Asurion.
  • Quick turnaround on thorough repairs
    I purchased a used iPad Pro 12.9” 5th gen and added on a four year Asurion plan. Nearly a year after buying them, we couldn’t get the iPad to take a charge. I sent it in for the charging problem, but I didn’t find out until after I sent it in that there was a break one one corner of the screen. Nevertheless, four days later when we got it back, everything was repaired, including the screen issue I didn’t report.     I bought a Samsung S6 tablet and keyboard from amazon on Jan 2020 and was shown an Asurion protection plan. I purchased it for the combined cost of the Tablet and the Keyboard.I cracked the screen of my tablet. The tablet was in working order when I sent it to Asurion. I was contacted by Asurion telling me that it could not be fixed. (a cracked screen) Asurion wanted to try and replace my tablet with a smaller cheaper tablet. One that was 200.00 dollars cheaper and would not fit any of the accessories that I had purchased for the S6 tab.After numerous emails and phone calls, They would not replace with the same tablet. I had to get a check in the mail which will not arrive for 10 to 15 business days. I got that tablet for my birthday because it was on sale. Now I will have to pay more to replace the tablet and I am out the 125 dollar protection plan. I will never buy a electronic device from AMAZON again.I would give Asurion a zero for the service I recieved.
