This dash cam is great. The video quality is amazing.I’ve had this installed in my car for a few months and it is very durable. Utilizing it in night has been very easy and the videos are clear. The creme of the crop of dash cams, baby!

This item is the Cadillac of dash cams. I came across one that was heavily discounted during prime day for a hundred bucks, and after much research I pulled the trigger and glad I did. Its a very premium product. It comes tightly wrapped in plastic inside a well designed box that reminded me of a case the best Cuban cigars would come in. When you flip open the lid, everything is laid out perfectly and includes every little thing you need to properly install the cameras. It took me roughly 20 minutes to get everything set up, Including the app. The instructions are very clear and easy to understand-no broken English like other inferior cameras. The set up guide is over 50 pages and is incredibly detailed and well put together. For turning on and setting up the device for the first time the guide is laid out step by step in order even the order of menu settings are the same in the guide. The camera produces a excellent image quality, and I was surprised to find that it is capable of embedding your speed and GPS coordinates into the video itself and also displays on thr screen as your driving. Lets see what else-oh, the syncing to my phone was seamless-it connects via wifi which was unique in its own way and works very well. You can view the camera live on your phone screen when connected to wifi and you can easily download files from the camera to your phone over the app. I also love the rear facing camera, and its really useful as you can use it as a digital rearview mirror as your driving which i found pretty neat and useful. you’re looking for a affordable high quality device id highly recommend this product!

The camera arrived well-packaged in a sturdy box. Setup through the app was very straightforward, and the video quality looks great both day and night. The price is also quite reasonable. I really like the included cable clips — they made it easy to secure the power cable neatly under my dashboard.There are a few areas that could use improvement:Electrostatic Film: The film didn’t adhere well to my rear window and kept falling off. I eventually mounted the rear camera directly onto the glass using the M3 sticky mount. Interestingly, the film worked fine on my windshield, where I attached the front camera with no issues.Rear Camera Mount Size: The M3 sticky base for the rear camera could be a bit smaller to better fit between defrost lines. Mine overlapped one line, which could make removal tricky without causing damage.Voice Activation: It would be nice to have voice control features like Garmin’s — for example, the ability to start/stop voice recording or save a clip hands-free.Rear Camera Fit: The rear camera feels a bit loose in its mount. When I plugged in the USB-C cable, the camera popped out of place.Other than these minor issues, installation was quite simple. Running the cable to the rear camera took a bit of effort, especially threading it through the liftgate’s cable protector due to the USB-C connector’s size and angle.

All in all an excellent camera. I really enjoy all of the incredible features that come with this camera. Initial set up was very easy and the video quality is excellent. Well worth the purchase, I am very happy with my purchase. I had a problem logging into the iPhone app. I texted customer service on a Sunday afternoon and received a reply from Alcris ( a customer service rep ) in less than ten minutes. Fifteen minutes later, problem solved. Good customer service is hard to find these days, this was GREAT customer service.

This is exactly what I wanted in a cameras. Im technologically illiterate with tech im not familiar with and this was so easy to install and set up. Came with everything you could possibly need. With other cameras, they didn’t have a cord long enough to run from the front camera to the back. This fit my 2012 toyota camry perfectly. I love the clear film strips it comes with because i dont have to worry about residue being left on my windshield and back window. The picture quality on the screen is so clear and being able to access the footage with my phone is great! I’ve already recommended this to friends i know have been looking for a good camera. I intend to buy another one for when my son starts driving.10/10 for functionality, easy installation and set up, and quality.

One thing is having a fine product and the other is backing it up with help from the vendor, which is important! This camera is easy to install, has a straightforward interface and the video quality is crystal clear. The front facing camera goes up to 4K and the rear facing camera 1080p. If you want higher than that, you can pay more for the “pro” version. It comes with a 128gb card and can take up to a 1TB card (microSD). We have been very happy with this cam, so much so that we got one for both of our cars and one for a gift. Anytime I have had a question for ROVE, they have been very quick to respond with helpful info! So rare these days!!! Thank you ROVE!!!

I installed this dash cam in my Toyota Camry, and after a few weeks of driving around New York City, I’m really impressed with its performance.The video quality is excellent — both the front and rear cameras record in very clear 4K, which is extremely helpful in NYC traffic where you need to capture license plates and details quickly. The included 128GB card was a nice bonus and worked right out of the box, though I like that it supports up to 512GB for longer recording time.Setup was straightforward. The WiFi connection at 5.8GHz makes transferring videos to my phone much faster compared to other dash cams I’ve tried. The GPS feature is also useful, accurately logging my routes and speed, which gives me extra peace of mind.In terms of features, the G-sensor and parking mode work reliably. Let me share my experience and why I bought this product. Over the years, I’ve bought various dashcams because I own several cars, plus my family’s. I’ve helped buy and install dashcams for all of them. A while ago, one of my cars was scratched by another car while parked on the side of the road, resulting in a broken left side mirror. When I came back and saw the broken mirror, I was heartbroken. My new car was damaged like that, and I didn’t even know who hit it. I was so annoyed that I hadn’t bought a dashcam with 24-hour monitoring. That way, if a similar incident happened, I would have evidence to report it to the police and the insurance company. In the end, I had to pay for the repairs myself ????. After the repairs, I quickly went to Amazon to look for a better dashcam. After searching a lot, I was really attracted when I saw this 4K dual-camera model. It felt very special and high-end, and there was a big discount. I bought it immediately. When I opened the box and took out the device, I could immediately feel that its material was completely different from the ones I’d bought before; the quality was exceptional. It took me about 15 minutes to install and another 10 minutes to connect to Wi-Fi and GPS. These features are so thoughtful. It also comes with a 128GB memory card, the largest capacity I’ve ever had in any dashcam I’ve bought. This means I don’t need to format it for loop recording. After installation and use, I found the 4K lens to be incredibly clear. It records clearly in any weather, in any lighting condition, whether bright or dark. Its wide-angle coverage is also very extensive, and it offers multiple language options. I think my favorite feature is the 24-hour parking monitoring function. I’ve tried it a few times in the evening after the car was off; I gently bumped into the car with my body, and it automatically started recording, capturing me very clearly. It’s fantastic! I’ll feel much more at ease parking my car anywhere from now on. I highly recommend buying it.

Simple setup, safe drive

I bought this dash cam mostly because I wanted more safety on the road, and tbh, it’s been a fantastic upgrade. The installation is very easy. it may take five or ten minutes. The camera itself is nice and small, so it doesn’t block my view at all. Additionally, the daytime video quality is awesome. Everything is super clear, reading license plates and street signs. I was doubtful about night vision at the beginning, but it definitely captures all the details when things are dark. And the loop recording works very well, so I never have to manually clean out the SD card. If you need a reliable camera that handles its main job without any complexity or stress, you should definitely check this one out.

Great Quality

This baby monitor car camera has worked great. My husband installed this in both my car and the second one in his after using the one in my car and loving it. It took him about 15 mins to install it, hiding the cords took the longest time, but if you don’t care about the cords showing it would be even quicker. What I like about this car camera after having another one from a different brand previously: it has 1 plug in for both the front monitor screen AND the camera in the back which is great for vehicles that may not have a second plug in available in the back. The directions were easy to follow and complete. The seller has followed up to ensure his product was good quality and that we had zero issues. The monitor screen is very clear, have had zero issues with seeing our little one in great detail. The night vision comes on automatically and is also extremely clear and good quality. I like that there is a button to turn off the screen, when little one is asleep and quiet I turn off the screen so I am not distracted and staring at my beautiful baby. I’m using the suction cup to the front windshield for the monitor and it has not moved or fallen off since install which is fantastic. And lastly, the screen/camera turns on automatically with your ignition, so unlike the camera I had before, you don’t need to turn on the camera for it to work. For this price point, this can’t be beat.

Worth It

It’s crazy that something so small could have such amazing quality! It did unsuction a couple of times after we first installed it but we would just move it a little and try again and it hasn’t fallen since. I love the night vision but it can be a little sensitive if you’re constantly driving near big shaded trees and it makes a click noise each time it switches. You do have to manually turn it off and on, so if you are a naturally forgetful person you could drain your battery. Those are the only “problems” I have, but I love the peace of mind it gives me that I can see my baby without looking back or away from the road for too long

Best thing out there

I would only recommend this. I tried using the mirrors but they are a huge distraction given you have to look in the rearview mirror. I heard about this in Reddit and thought it would be a good solution. It definitely is and I have one for travel as well. It’s easy to set up, picture is clear and even with a baby and toddler if you set it up right you don’t have to worry about the toddler getting to it, even rear facing. It can see across all three seats in my sedan and it’s just practical. I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone.

Affordable and good

It’s great for the price and so easy to install. I just wish it could be zoomed in. Since our car seats won’t hold the camera we additionally bought a holder and it’s a little farther than if it hang from the seat but nothing too bad. So if your car seat looks like mine. No metal rods to strap the camera just get a holder and it’ll work.

Awesome picture quality with real-time feed! It switches from night-mode (black and white video using infrared) to day-mode (full color) automatically and was really easy to install.Highly recommend! I’ve only had mine for a couple of weeks so I can’t speak for the durability/longevity of the product but for the price, even if you only got one or two years out of the product, I think it’s worth it and I’d buy it again.

Gives you piece of mind

My daughter has had 2 mirrors that reflected her daughter in the car seat. I know there have been daughter has taken her eyes off the road as it was easy for her daughter to kick and move the mirror. She no longer has to do that. The monitor sits on her dash and all it takes is a quick glance. She has called it a good send and says every parent should have one. It gives clear picture both during the day and at night. It is in court during the day but switches to black and white at night and in shade. It was easy to set up. The only thing is, we have it plugged in the auxiliary plug and we have to make sure to manually shut it off. We have waited as long as half an hour after getting out of the car and checked and it was still on. So it would be nice if it went off automatically. We haven’t had it long enough to speak to it’s durability but we are hoping it lasts a few years.

Excellent Camera At Any Price!

I have installed 5 of these “REDTIGER Dash Cam Front Rear, 4K/2.5K Full HD Dash Camera for Cars” in vehicles for me, friends, and family. The installation instructions are clear, and in all 5 cases, I did the circuit breaker box installation with the associated kit for my vehicles (REDTIGER Dash Cam Acc Multi-Size Hardwire Kit with Voltage Indicator for Dash Camera, USB C Power Port, 24H Parking Monitoring with Low Voltage Protection) instead of the cigarette lighter method.This is a very good camera. The videos are sharp, and show good detail (like license plates). I live in FL where people drive CRAZY. In one of the vehicles that I installed, the driver was found not at fault based upon the police officer viewing the video on-scene–hit and run and the other driver denied involvement, but the camera DOES NOT LIE! The videos are easy to download, though they are VERY LARGE (>50MB in most cases) being that they are 4K. I believe that the 4K is necessary for proper proof and investigation. Yes I would say I would buy it again–because I did!

It works very well, it has high quality picture, at night it’s hard to see out of the rear camera, it’s simple to use and simple to set up, just read the instructions and be patient. It isn’t super tough so I don’t recommend beating on it too much.

Great Dashcam. Fabulous Customer Service! Insufficient Parking Mode Instructions (read below).

Purchased this for my wife’s RAV4. I like having both the front and rear cameras and love how compact they are; they are fairly unobtrusive in both locations. The front camera is mostly behind the rear-view mirror (the camera is small enough to easily fit entirely behind the mirror, but the car’s OEM black box against the windshield is already occupying the ideal real estate). The rear camera is tucked up at the top of the rear window (just at the top of the rear wiper sweep area) and is barely noticeable. I liked that I could rotate the rear camera in its holder to the view angle I wanted. The cable length on the rear camera was more than sufficient to reach front-to-back in this car (and easily tucked away behind the headliner and other trim pieces), but I’m not sure if it would be enough for a full-size SUV like an Excursion. It does have an inline connector near the rear camera which was convenient when installing the rear camera and running the wire and may allow for an extension to be used.The video quality looks great. I set my front resolution down to 1080p since I feel that will be sufficient for our day-to-day needs. In my opinion, the quality of the footage will be impacted more by how clean the glass is and the weather conditions outside than the quality of the cameras.I like that I can set whether and how long the screen is visible when the dashcam is on. Most of the time, I prefer to have the displays screen off. It takes some clicking to get through all of the menus, but I found the UI intuitive and easy enough to use.The included lighter adaptor worked fine, but I got the hardwire kit (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WCTZ3Y8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) to run permanently and to enable Parking Mode (see note below).I also got the 3M Mount (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09SFY13TZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) so I could mount the camera a bit higher behind the rear-view mirror. I’ll use the suction mount and lighter adaptor when using the dashcam on trips in a rental car.You’ll want to get a larger (e.g. 256 GB) High Endurance U3 SD card (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P4HBRMV?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) as the included SD card is only U1.NOTE on the hardwire kit and Parking Mode: I connected the wires as instructed (yellow->BATT, red->ACC, black->GRD) but did not see the behavior I was expecting from the dashcam: the dashcam immediately turned on even though the ACC power was off, and I could not turn on Parking Mode. This led me to believe that the documentation was wrong, so I reversed the red and yellow wires which resulted in the dashcam not turning on until ACC power was on and allowing me to set Parking Mode (or so I thought), so I felt that I had figured it out. However, I then realized that the dashcam would not stay on – it never recorded any footage while the car was on (or off). Gratefully, I found a Q&A response from “Elizabeth B” back on 10/7/2021 which explained how to properly set up Parking Mode (which doesn’t appear to be documented anywhere with either product):1. Connect wires as described above (Yellow = constant 12v, Red = switched 12v, Black = ground).2. Turn on acc power (but do not start engine).3. Press menu button and select “Parking”.4. While blue message box is shown on the F7N display, turn off acc power (this has to be timed well). You should see a new blue message box and the F7N unit will power off.5. Turn acc power back on (but do not start engine).6. Press menu button and select “Parking”.7. You will now see the menu options for Parking Mode and be able to configure it how you like.credit: Elizabeth B.(Attention REDTIGER: You should include these steps in your documentation and compensate Elizabeth.)After reverting my wire connections back to match the documentation and following the steps above, my hardwired dashcam is now functioning perfectly – including Parking Mode.Even though my installation and set-up experience with the hardwire kit wasn’t ideal, I do have to say that the REDTIGER customer service was outstanding! They were responsive, proactive, and empowered to do the right things for their customers. Thank you Nora!As for the apps, the Android app seems to work sufficiently well. It does take a LONG time to download the video files over the dashcam’s wi-fi. I prefer to remove the SD card and copy the files directly to my PC.I’m not very impressed with the PC app (Windows 10) yet. I tried it only once, but it seemed to have a hard time after viewing the first video, and even that wasn’t great. It’s intended to show both front & rear video simultaneously, which I think is great, but I haven’t been able to get it work very well. I’ll try again and see if I can get it run better. I was surprised to discover that the rear camera records audio, so it doesn’t sound great when both front and rear audio are played at the same time. I muted the rear audio and used just the front audio.The video files run just fine on third-part video players.Bottom line: I love the dashcam and rear camera; easy to use; good video; absolutely fabulous customer service.

My wife was going to get the ticket after the officer talked to the other party first, but she was able to show the officer the cam video and they reversed course and issued the ticket to the other party. Then the other party lied to their insurance, but after providing the video to their insurance, the adjuster immediately accepted 100% responsibility.Easy to install and with clearly written English instructions. Crystal clear video, front at 4k and back at 2k, produce high resolution video where you can read license plates and even identify who was driving another vehicle.Even more importantly, it has a good app that you can use to directly download video from the cam without pulling the card and taking it to a computer. Just in case you are in an accident, you can instantly download the relevant video to your phone and show to Law Enforcement and e-mail to your insurance company. This is hugely important so a ticket can be issued to the at-fault party on scene as my wife did. If you can’t show the officer when writing the report, they may issue the ticket to the wrong party or no one if they can’t figure out who was at fault. If this happens, it’s a long up-hill battle to get the other party’s insurance to pay out and the police will never cancel an incorrectly issued ticket, so it forces you to go to court to defend yourself. If you are in a serious accident (if anyone goes to the hospital, it’s serious), the officer may confiscate the SD card or even the whole camera for evidence. You may not get it back for weeks or even months. Sometimes they get lost an then you have nothing. Got exactly what I was looking for – a simple box I can place in a drawer to hold my keys and prevent thieves from picking up the proximity signal. Proof positive that the box is adequately blocking the key’s signal. The clasp does have to be latched fully or else it seems that enough radio waves can sneak through the lid seam. Works exactly as described.The build quality is acceptable for the price and based on initial impressions, I think it will hold up well to daily use and is very easy to operate.The small size box is large enough to fit at least a few keys in it comfortably.

Box works as described. Put keys in, closed & latched box and their signals were blocked.Good value for the money. Box lid does not completely open, and I suspect forcing it would damage box and/or shielding. That said, it opens far enough to easily put your key fobs in and to get them back out.Have not tried included key pouch.Again, good value for the money. Get one and protect your fobs from cloning and hence your car from this type of theft, which in my area is on the rise.

I keep the keys to our vehicles in the box, which is placed less than 10ft from the furthest vehicle in the garage. The keys are not detected at all. I have also used the pouch when I want to lock my keys in a vehicle (it has remote access), and it works well. Nice looking box BTW.

IT WORKS to block signal from key fob (test it by taking it out to car)

The box and bags arrived in good condition.The box has an issue that it does not like to stay open (possibly assembly error) but it closes and latches just fine.The box holds 3 to 4 different key fobs and their key rings and air tags.My box sits on a table at the front door, and I always put keys in it as I walk in the house (Yes, I am trainable), but I now always know where the keys are located. (You would fill silly if you bought the box and left the keys out and someone used a wire to capture the signal and drove off in your car like all the videos show)

Well made box and key pouches for security.

The box is very nicely made and a good size. We were able to fit multiple keys inside. The pouches fit my Kia keys and I tested them with the key inside and the car would not start till I removed the key from the pouch.The pouches closes with velcro so very easy to open but secure when closed.

Most faraday boxes appear flawed. Beware!

This faraday box (and probably all others based on photos) has a design flaw. Based on using a faraday testing app on my phone, I found that a lack of shielding on the lip of the lid causes a failed test unless weight is put on the lid to force the upper/lower shielding material to make electrical contact. Adding aluminum tape to completely shield the gap solved the design issue.

Solid Dash Cam with Great Support and Value -I bought this dash cam not knowing exactly what to expect. The price was right, and the specs matched what I was looking for. After installation, I noticed the camera stayed powered on even after I turned off the engine. I contacted the company, and their customer service responded promptly. The representative explained possible reasons for the issue and offered to send a hardwire kit to resolve it. However, one of the reasons provided was that the cigarette lighter could stay on after engine was turned off, so I looked it up. I discovered that the cigarette lighter in my car remains active for 45 minutes after the engine shuts off. So, the issue wasn’t with the dash cam—it was with my car’s power settings, which I can reprogram. I thanked the customer service rep and let them know the hardwire kit wasn’t necessary. I appreciated their quick and helpful response.The dash cam itself works well and was easy to set up. The suction cup mount is strong, and I really like the touch screen—it makes operation simple and intuitive. My only complaint is the rear camera wiring: there’s no easy way to hide the long wires, and I really wish future products could have a wireless connection to the main camera.Overall, this is a very nice product for its price range. Great Deal

Purchased with the hardwire kit and CPL lens filter. Watched multiple YouTube videos on the install. Watch the bad ones as well just to get an idea of how NOT to do the install. After preparing myself, tackled the install over the weekend. Easiest part was installing the back camera. My Hyundai Santa FE SEL has a hatchback, and for most that was their hardest part. I guess the videos helped me prepare. The rear camera was installed in less than an hour. Plenty of cable, routed along the top down the passenger side. The harder part was finding the right place to plug the hardware kit for power. Key points (1) install the ground wire first, (2) install the battery wire on a fuse (or empty) spot that is always on, the battery voltage will read on the display box on the adapter, (3) install the other on another fuse preferably for ACC (needs to be OFF when car is off and ON when the car is on), when you get this one attached start the car and verify the box display changes to say ACC on the display instead of the battery voltage. Then route the power wires to the camera and the rear camera connections to the dashcam.The video is great when playing from a computer. 4K all around and the player you get from the website even has a ZOOM feature. I started using the 12-hour time-laps recordings, this takes up a lot of memory on the card so you only get about 2 days for the 128G card they supply. I’ve switched to just using the G-sensors now to turn on when it detects motion (jarring), and record as I am driving.Overall happy with my purchase, there are a few things I wish it had: (1) ability to adjust the delay between frames for the time-lapse feature would make it better at not using a lot of memory, (2) my model seems to record the front and rear with slightly different numbers at the end and the player doesn’t know how to sync up the timestamps in the video when playing back (for the time being I can rename the rear to end in the same numbers as the front to fix), and (3) the manuals are very light on content only explains the features by name but doesn’t go into detail what they mean… example they talk about the G-sensor with settings for Off/Low/Medium/High but don’t describe which is more sensitive… in some languages Low translates to higher sensitivity to movement. Also the instructions on the video player for the computer is very light in content even the phone app has huge untapped potential. With it you can see real-time your path on a map and the video sent to your phone while driving. Could be expanded to supply directions.Great product overall… may update later with more details as I try and research all the features.Even better support! Their people are on top and respond quickly to try and answer your questions. If I wasn’t such a computer geek I’d probably have a lot more questions.

Easy Install, Works Great

This is a quality product. The cameras provide clear high resolution pictures. The camera menu lots of choices for customizing to preferences. The WiFi was easy to connect to view video on my phone. With the OBD wiring, installation of the front camera took 10 minutes. The rear camera wiring took about 20 minutes but was easily tucked into the interior headliner seams—much easier than anticipated. The camera turns on automatically when the car is started and changes to parking mode when the car is off. The voice commands work well but patience is the key since there is a bit of a delay—give it time to implement the command. I can’t say enough about customer service from this company. They didn’t wait for me to contact them, they messaged me first and were extremely helpful and responsive. I’m glad to recommend this product.

Great price for the features.

The suction cup is awesome. It’s on there! I liked how the base and the camera connect to each other. But the swivel is slightly loose. Make sure your wires have just a touch of slack and don’t pull the camera in an unwanted direction.Quality of the video is great. Setup was easy. The rear camera is on par with most other cameras out there.

Keeping it short, as a first time Dashcam user I’m over the moon with how easy the install was plus wiring and tucking. Then the unit itself is perfect for my Explorer with excellent performance and video quality. The app is great for downloading to my phone and getting instant results.WiFi is real easy just take your time and get familiar with all the features. I’m hard wired in to the fuse box with micro2 taps giving the cam the ability to monitor Gforce and Timelapse parking without running the battery down.It’s gives you an extra sense of security when driving these days in Orlando FL where the i4 is just like the Daytona Race track.Excellent product so far will definitely recommend it to anyone.If you’re not mechanical inclined hire someone to install it.It’s worth it.

Great Camera, average camera app.

Love this dash cam. I currently have two, one for each vehicle. Installation is easy. Video quality is great. Field of view for both the front and back is good.Highly recommend getting an adapter for your phone that will let you pull video directly from the SD card instead of going through the RedTiger app. The app can take some time to connect and can be a little more difficult to access video.

Quick and easy way to add Android Auto or Car Play to a vehicle.Was skeptical of devices such as this as I was worried they would be sluggish and unresponsive.That was not the case with this device as Android Auto has worked flawlessly.As soon as I start my car the device boots up, my phone connects, and Android Auto launches!The only downside is that the screen is sub-par quality.Viewing angles are not great so unless you plan to mount this directly in front of you expect the colors to look washed.Also expect the screen to struggle in sunlight as the screen does not get super bright. You’ll still be able to see what’s on the device but it’ll look dim.In all honesty I feel that sub-par screens should be an expectation for these kind of devices priced under $100.Despite those flaws I would still recommend this! For under $60 dollars it’s a cheap and easy way to add functionality to a car that is lacking Android Auto or CarPlay!

UPDATED VERSION Not worth getting this if you need AUX

UPDATE 3 MONTHS LATER: seller gave me a new device, and it connects to AUX. This then bumps it from a 2 stars to 3 stars. Only negative is the device makes a static sound when the music isn’t playing. I just have learned to turn down my volume when I do not need to listen to music.Original post: Bought this for Prime Day, and have had this working for about 2 months now. Good install, only took 30 mins.Around month three, the AUX port stopped working. I have to tape the AUX from the back to the front to hopefully get audio, but it no longer works. Extremely disappointed.The only function that now works is the FM transmitter, and when traveling long distances, I have to change the channel every few miles due to the cracking.My car does not have Bluetooth, so it’s not an option for me.

I have a 2015 Civic that doesn’t have carplay so this was a great edition for the price! I think it’s overall pretty decent quality. The touchscreen is pretty responsive, very easy to use, and pretty easy to install. The screen isn’t super big or super small. I think it’s a great size and doesn’t take up a massive amount of room. The only critical things I have to say is that I think the suction cup arm is not good at all. I could not get that thing to stick. I didn’t want to use the dash adhesive because I already had a spot for the suction cup from a previous arm I had in my car. I ended up having to purchase another arm just for the screen. I also think the glare is pretty annoying on it too, however you can easily move the screen around to help with that. The speakers on the actual device is also not great, but in all honesty I wasn’t ever planning to use that speaker anyway. I also have some issues with the voice that reads your texts being SUPER quiet. This might be an issue with my phone itself though (I have a standard iPhone 13).Also, just a heads up because I don’t think enough people know about this, Carplay/Android Auto will drain your phones battery so make sure to have your phone plugged into a charger.All that said, I think this is still a great product for the price. If you don’t mind some minor annoyances and maybe purchasing an extra suction arm, then I don’t think this is a bad product at all.

Works. But of course need the fob inside the pouch. It fits my fob and keys but that means it is larger.I had it inside and my doors did not open. Take out and it opens. Inside the car in the pouch push start does not work. Out of the pouch and starts. So effective.Now this size does make it not great for putting in a pocket. So my use is when I park at home putting it in the pouch walking into the house and storing it. Not great when driving around. So plan to use it with a bag/purse or just for home storage.

Solid key fob protectors!

These things really work, and they look good too. With the key fob inside and holding it right next to it, the car still wouldn’t recognize it at all. Even with the top velcro open it still kept the signal hidden from the car. With all of the hooks and key rings included on the case it’s also easy to attach it to anything securely.

Key Fob RFID Protection

I purchased a set of these bags to protect against the theft of my sports car. The key fobs cannot be detected by the vehicle or any other device when inside these protective bags. To test their effectiveness, I locked my car manually then walked back into my garage and attempted to unlock it with the key fob still in the protective bag. Nothing happened, which is exactly what I’d hoped would happen. This is a good method to prevent someone from mirroring the OEM key fob signal and stealing the vehicle. The protective bags were reasonably priced and appear to be relatively robust, I would recommend.

It works!

I previously had tried using a shielded bag provided with my EZ pass to store my spare key fob with wireless start in the car. However, that bag is a hoax–the key still worked! I put my key in this along with a tracker device. My app reported that the tracker disappeared as soon as I put it in the bag and the car would no longer start without a different key. So I can say that this faraday key fob bag really does what it’s supposed to. The attachments in and on the bag seem handy too, though I would to be able to take off the one inside the bag since I don’t need it. Seems like it will last, and a good value to get 2 for this price.

Additional Information that’s Not in the Manual or Not Well Discussed

Suvcon Dash Cam Product ReviewI did some experimenting to find out how the Dash Cam works for me. I will discuss just the items that are not discussed or not well discussed in the manual. I use Windows 7. I have the 3 camera version of the Dash Cam (with rear camera) and was using the 32MB micro card for this write up (I now have a 128MB card). I use 3 minute looping. I have audio enabled. I have enabled data to be displayed at the bottom of my videos (Date/Time/Speed/Coordinates). I “Screen Save” using 5 minutes. I do not have a smart phone so cannot give you any information about using it.1. The main reason for a Dash Cam is to hopefully show that you were not at fault during an accident. Even if you think you were at fault do not admit it. Admitting fault might cause problems if you have to go to court. Make sure that date/time/speed/coordinates are recording on your videos as they may be important in court. Make sure you leave audio on as you may have to read out loud a license plate in case the other driver hits and runs. Make sure to select to loop your recordings as it is easier to find the videos you want to keep or play plus it loops around when memory is full. Keep in mind that two or more loops of videos may be important for an accident.2. The micro card is called “memory card” in the manual (might also be called micro SD or micro SDXC when purchasing). The manual specifications for the micro card are: maximum is 256MB, Class 10, and U3.3. The reason for reformatting the micro card every month is to make more memory available for looping files. The manual says it is “to maximize the lifetime of the memory card.” I suppose what this means is that over time there will be less and less memory available for looping causing a small section of memory to become overworked by the looping cycles. I’ve read online that memory might get worn out with over 10,000 write-and-erase cycles. It is best to spread the looping cycle over a lot of memory then to overwork a small part of the memory. Reformatting gives back lots of memory.4. The inside and rear camera lenses flip-flop left and right as if they are mirror images. However, the Rear camera has an option that can correct its mirror image by selecting it to have a mirror image (two mirror images make a correct image). In “Image rotation” select “Rear Cam Mirror”. Nothing about changing images is discussed in the manual. Also the Rear camera can be flipped in “Image rotation” in case its mounting causes its videos to be upside down. I cannot find a way to correct a mirror image for the inside camera. I do not know if other Dash Cams have lenses that cause mirror images.5. The Dash Cam will maintain power for several minutes when external power is turned off. I have accidentally made a video recording of me taking my Dash Cam into my house. All that is needed is a quick push of the power button (accidentally or intentionally).6. The suction cup is secured to the window by moving the GPS module from pointing right to pointing up. I guess it needs to be up for best GPS reception.7. My Dash Cam has two very small LEDs just outside the top left of the screen. It appears that the top blue LED is solid for not recording and flashing for recording (this is handy if the screen saver shows a black screen). As best as I can figure out, the bottom small red LED is on if the Dash Cam is externally powered.8. To set the time correctly, the correct time zone must be selected (“Time Zone” is a menu selection). Time zones are selected according to UTC/GMT time. These are the selections for the Continental USA: For Eastern Time -5:00, Central Time -6:00, Mountain Time -7:00, Pacific Time -8:00, Eastern Daylight Time -4:00, Central Daylight Time, -5:00, Mountain Daylight Time -6:00, and Pacific Daylight Time -7:00.9. I can experiment with the Dash Cam inside my house. I use a USB port on my power plug to provide power. Do not use a USB connector on your computer for power unless you want to play videos and/or to see pictures.10. The manual discusses “Photo Mode”. I never was able to activate the “Photo Mode”. I expect it doesn’t exist anymore. Short push MENU to take a picture. You can show pictures on the Dash Cam screen but you have to go past all the videos (could be a lot) before getting to pictures. I use my computer to show the pictures in the “Photo” folder of the Dash Cam.11. You can show the GPS Information while recording videos by long pushing RIGHT. It will show a Number (don’t know what this is), Speed, Direction, Current Time, Longitude, Latitude, and 12 bar graphs (I think they show the strengths of different satellites). To exit push MENU. I don’t have any idea what the manual is saying about GPS in section “13. GPS Settings”.12. An example front camera file name and type might be: “20230914160838_0000081F.MP4”. MP4 is a file type for a video file. The “F” at the end of the file name means the video was taken by the Front camera. The front of the file name “20230914” gives the date the file was created (the year is 2023, the month is 09 (September), and the day of the month is 14). There after the “160838” means the hour is 16 (or 4:00pm), the second is 08 (4:08pm), and the 38 is 100ths of a seconds (4:08.38pm). The “0000081” is a unique file number given to each file (81 for short). Each file created will have a number that is one greater than that used in the previous file created for example 81F,82B,83R. Typically I see a sequence of 3 files (F, B, R) that all have the same Date/Time . The order of F, B, R is typical but I’ve seen B, F, R and there may be other orders. There is a selection in Windows Explorer called “Length” and it will show video file’s running time. I’m surprised that there are often many times in a row that have exact times of “00:00:03.00”. Picture file names will also have the same format as used by video files except the file type will be JPG. The picture files use the same increment counter used by video files. When a picture is made (short push MENU during recording) then all cameras will have a picture (for me 3 pictures).Quick Guide of Usage1. RIGHT is Down & LEFT is Up.2. Take Picture – Short Push MENU while Recording.3. View GPS Info – Long Push RIGHT while Recording.4. Lock Video – Long Push MENU while Recording.5. Change Camera Views – Short Push RIGHT.6. Rotate Menu sets & Camera View – Short Push MENU not Recording.7. View Video Files on Dash Cam:1. Stop Recording (push OK).2. Long push MENU.3. Push Arrow key to find desired video.4. Push OK to view (or stop) video.5. Short push MENU for option to Lock or Delete video (short push MENU a few times to return to viewing videos).6. Long push MENU to return to recording videos.8. To view pictures push Arrow key until end of all video files.
