What Customers Say:

  • Pre-assembled ????
Who would have thought things still come pre-assembled sometimes. Great product. Good shipping. Could hope for a layer of foam for more protection but still no obvious shipping damage so no complaints
  • Really doesn’t slide out
I gave it a decent rating because it doesn’t lie on the product page, but I really underestimated just how little it slides out. It only comes out halfway, and it’s already a fairly shallow shelf. I can kind of make due, but just be warned. I bought several and they all were fine as far as manufacturing quality goes. The sliding motion is pretty stiff and cheap though, so there is that.
  • It’s a good drawer
Bought this to put effects pedals in for my music gigging rack case. Seems to be a good heavy duty quality, and has wire pathways that work for my pedal cables. I’d imagine you could use this drawer for any number of items besides pedals.
  • Deceptive imagery
It’s pretty well made for what it is, but the images in the product page elude to the fact you can use a laptop from the tray. That is NOT the case unless you don’t use at least 9U of rack space. The drawer only opens about 7 inches, and unlike some, the front of the drawer doesn’t fold down. Can’t believe I wasted almost $60 on something that will never work for a laptop. The only thing that you could effective use in this is a compact keyboard, OR you could put paperwork in it. Wasted money….
  • Great product
It was exactly what I was looking for and currently holds my wireless keyboard and mouse for my server that play with at home.My biggest complaint is that I wish it had rails that went the depth of the rack mostly for stability because I kind of use it like a pull out keyboard setup. I would recommend this to anyone needing a quick spot to hold a keyboard and mouse.
  • Product arrived damaged – similar to another reviewer
It’s just “ok”: Like another reviewer, the product arrived damaged for me and was a bit wobbly – with the drawer fully open – after installation. The damage involved a dent on the right front portion of the drawer itself near where it meets the rack mounting hardware. That prevents from fully closing it on the right side. While bending it with a pair of pliers might help, I’m going to try swapping this unit out for an undamaged unit. The slight wobbliness is evident when the drawer is fully extended. This might be a factor of just using mounting hardware only in the front vs. in the front and also in the rear. In my current rack, I can only mount equipment using front-only rack ears, which is the configuration of this unit. However, the unit does offer what appears to be screw holes in the rear. Since I’m using this in a rack that is wall mounter, I’m going to try screwing the back of the rack to a wall to see if that helps with the wobbliness. If not, I’m going to go for another drawer solution.
  • Almost perfect for my needs
Works as designed. I do wish the front would fold down when opened. It would allow easier access to the keyboard/mouse.
  • Low cost keyboard tray
Installation and operation is straightforward. I found that keyboard tray once extended rocked up and down when extended It was rather difficult to use a keyboard. Checking the reviews, this is noted in some of the negative reviews.I observe that the top cage nuts rock quite a bit. I had installed the cage nuts horizontally. I removed and reinstalled with the cage nuts installed vertically. This made a huge difference and practically eliminated most of the tray rocking. Much more pleased with the purchase now.

What Customers Say:

  • Customer Service still exists and these went above and beyond what they needed too.
Customer service still exists and I’m happy about it.So, I have a NAS, I wanted to replace the case, I went for this option based on space, size (inside, not outside) and price. I get the case, nice and heavy, very study, but wait, the motherboard connector for the case, doesn’t match my old (didn’t want to turn into e-waste) motherboard, I was able to position the connector to let me get the motherboard to power up with the button, but the other items, HDD light, Reset button, etc, were not aligned. So, I emailed them, now, I have some breadboard jumper wires from an old ‘lets make a remote fan controller for my P40 GPU’ (which did work, so I’m not that scared of trying things out) and I asked.”Hey, can you provide me with the pin-out of your connector, so I don’t have to open the front of the case and trace the wires”I was just going to connect a male/female breadboard pin from each hole to the motherboard, simple solution, right.Well, they went one further, they arranged for an adapter to plug into their connector to give me pin outs, they stated they went to get it custom made, and they followed up, when they had them, asked me for my full address, and shipped it to me.When it comes to ease of use, it would only go in one way, and it was just the right size to give me enough wiggle room for my chunky fingers and those little tiny pins, so I didn’t need to remove the whole motherboard to reconnect, etc So the ease of assembly, well, there wasn’t anything easier. The part was nice and sturdy, didn’t come across flimsy and just chucked together. Now, if they already had them from the more expensive model, and they told me what they did just justify sending me one, I really don’t care, they went above and beyond to keep a customer happy. Thanks Rosewill
  • MUCH better than it has a right to be at this price.
I threw in the towel on my old Rosewill RSV-8S eSATA enclosure and controller after it continued giving me fits with the port multiplier. What I needed what direct internal storage for my home NAS. Even though it was old.So simply put, I took a 2012 PC, and 8 large for the time SATA HDDs and moved them from their original cases into this one enclosure. . Yes it is BIG, and yes, it is built like what I expect a computer case at this price point to be built like.I am going to start by the low points. First and foremost the card slot covers in the back of the case are the breakaway kind which means you end up with empty slot holes if you decide to move cards around to different slots. This is common but a VERY annoying design choice on Rosewills part. This is to be expected in this price class.Second thing that annoys me is the drive cages. The screw holes to secure them back to the chassis stop lining up if disks are installed. You need to give the ears a tiny gentle squeeze to pull it back in. No idea why this is like this but bleh…Front panel functions like control buttons and front panel USB is actually phyiscally on the TOP of the case. This is a mixed blessing. Makes it tough to access the buttons if you are putting this on a rack shelf, but likewise the light from the power button / LED and drive LEDs don’t laser beam you in the eyes either!Last complaint. The bottom 2.5″ drive mounting space. This requires it be screwed in from underneath inside the drive cage and given the size of my hands there is no way physically for me to get in there and manipulate the screws to install a drive. Now for the good.Easy assembly.GREAT features.10 3.5″ drive bays3 2.5″ drive bays. Well 2 actually usable, a third if you have child sized hands or can manipulate drive screws using the Force…EXCELLENT cable management / routing design.FANTASTIC airflow keeping internal temps in check.super quiet fansMesh filtration screens help keep dust bunnies out of it.Except for the snap out slot covers, no sharp edges or bad finish issues.
  • THOR NAS Pro – Great utilitarian NAS and Server System
This review is for the THOR NAS Pro. Super great tower NAS solution especially when it’s on sale. I got it for under $200 and I’m very, very pleased with the value. Keep in mind this is not going to be blinged out case but serves a great utilitarian case for mass and hot swappable data storage. I don’t review any purchases but this one I had to add my thoughts
  • It’s decent
I got this case as it looked like a solid performer for my server build. The price, as well as the HDD cages caught my eye. It came in, and I was initially very impressed, but cracks in the veneer did show as I assembled my PC in it. It was easy to build in, but the sheet metal is thin, and overall the case is flimsy. I had the sides off and while I was building it, and managed to catch the corners multiple times, the aforementioned thin sheet metal cut me, though it proved to be less than fatal. It’s decent, but if you don’t need the cages for the drives, then get something nicer for the money.
  • Great bang for the buck.
Just built a new NAS using this case, for the price I think they did a great job, semi cheap feeling in some areas but overall functions great and roomy. I am using all 8 hot swap bays in truenas with a LSI 9300i HBA and no issues. Would love the same case in a rack mount version around this price point though.

What Customers Say:

  • Connects my servers to my server rack
    No issues.
  • Item received in open box and rail bent.
The rails work, after some finageling that shouldnt have been necessary.First off the item I recieved had clearly been returned before or atleased it had been opened. All of the tape had been cut and the rails were not seated in the packaging correctly. The right rail is bent and did not open eaisly like the left rail did, it took me bending and wiggling and trying different things and after a part fell off (a small metal peice) that I couldnt figure out where it came from. The rail finally came out and I was able to get my server to mount. After the server was mounted it took me several cycles of opening and closing before it finally loosened enough to slide as I would expect.Bottom line, after some unexpected problems, the rails work fine for now. I recieved it today and installed them today so I dont know about the longevity but I have no reason to think that they will not last so I have high hopes that this will last.
  • Rubbish
The rails were flimsy and bent and came off trying to load the server (Dell R720) on to them. Granted the 720 is a beast, but unlike typical rails where part is installed in the rack and part on the server and then you slid it in, this system requires you line up the back to pins on the server to slide in to the rack slot and then lay the rest in as you tilt the server down. If you miss, God help you as 30 near-microscopic ball bearings go flying everywhere the rail falls apart from the weight of only one sever pin. I even got a micro ball bearing into the slot where the actual server pin was properly in, so I could not move it forward to lift it out. After both rails fell apart, i eventually got the broken rails sorta in to the rack and part on to the server and slid it in like a typical (i.e. good) rail system would be, but of course it keeps partly slipping off the rails in the back.

  • Very satisfied customer
Very satisfied customer. Been using it for several months to a year and no issues.
  • Fantastic for the price
This is really good for the price. It doesn’t have much GPU power so you need to install additional video cards. It can hold 2. They are super easy to install. Once installed and configured it’s amazing. I use it to train Large Language Models and run my Ai. Runs like a dream. It lost power briefly once and came right back up. It was really loud for about a minute while coming back up. Then it ran normally. It’s really quiet. I barely hear it when working and it’s 3 feet away. I would absolutely recommend this. Just remember to get the additional video cards.
  • Clean, functional, arrived early
The media could not be loaded. How did I end up here.TL:DR Very clean, arrived early, worked out the box, even has the key to lock the cover to the rack!Functions fantastic, not as loud as I thought it’d be. I have it in a server rack in the office which shares a wall with mine. I do not hear it. Mainly a media server but doubles as a NAS until I get a nice storage server. I stocked it with 16 1.2tb drives in raid 50.I did all this with online guidance cause I have no clue what I’m doing. Somehow this purchase resulted in me running my own cat6 cable and learning how to terminate it. Good news, it works great. Got new cat 6 from living room to the office. Bad news, a switch arrives in a few days. And all cause I got this for 400$.I should mention the cpus I got were slightly slower but offered many more cores so I just didn’t say anything. lol.
  • AWESOME!
I’ve been looking at upgrading my old vmWARE ESXi server for a couple years. I wanted the 720 (to run dual nVIDIA GPUs), but this was an awesome price with everything that it comes with!128G RAM4 1.2TB drives (I also grabbed a pack of 10 additional for storage)iDRAC 8 Enterprise (versus my older iDRAC6 Enterprise)PERFECTLY CLEAN INSIDE AND OUT!!!!!BATTERIES IN WORKING ORDER!!!!!BIOS UPDATED / FIRMWARE UPDATED!!!When I re-enabled the initial 4 drives included, the server booted up with 180 day evaluation of Windows Server 2019 – which I have a licensed older 2012R2 on another machine I need to update soon as well.Quiet! Fast! Worth EVERY penny!Shipping was SUPER FAST!
  • Good home lab start
Unit came with uptodate bios and drivers, had to reconfigure the raid as the HDDS were not recognized on boot, small issue but perfect for my home lab, gave me actual experience and a good idea of what it’s like to manage a server. Learned alot, great product, box was damaged it came in but thats shipping, they used enough foam to protect the product there were no issues there
  • Ridiculous price what you get. ridiculously low!
Came with all the drive covers and front bezel, Looks like new inside, not a spec of dust. It had windows server 2019 installed but I screwed it up. I am trying to get the controller to work with the SAS drives and two SSD Sata’s, It is defiantly loud, and weirdly it got louder when I installed the ssd’s . Once I figure out how to get it working with my windows pc it will be great, These things cost about $20000 new.The trick is when you insert additional disks, you have to pull the ones that are already configured or they will be wiped when the new ones are added to the RAID controller.I still haven’t been able to connect thru the IDRAC port, I get the login screen after I set the port address, but can not get a user/password to connect, I have tried setting the jumper to reset the password but that dosen’t seem to work either. I have Windows 10 Pro and Ubuntu linux working on it and VMworkstation.
  • Not Quite
Seems to be a good, clean server and is operating just fine. However, there were some misses on the description:1) iDRAC is an enterprise version, not express (a good thing)2) Hard Drives are 6Gb/s, not 12Gb/s3) Seller had not upgraded firmware (no biggie, just 30 minutes or so using LCC)4) Item was late shipping5) Shipped with Win Server 2016 installed (no problem, just noting)Overall, I expect this will work in my homelab for many years to come (replacing a Dell r510).
  • Above and beyond
Not only did the server arrive 4 days early, but the BIOS was already updated to the latest version, the CPUs have good thermal paste, the empty RAM slots have fillers, iDRAC 8 is on the latest version, and the server was packaged with the proper Dell shipping foam which survived the beating FedEx gave it. On top of all that, the four disks the server shipped with are already configured to a virtual disk in RAID0. Outstanding condition and I think the best used item I’ve bought off Amazon on this IT journey. Thank you very much for not disappointing.

What Customers Say:

  • pfSense on ZimaBoard 232 solid so far!
I bought my Zimaboard 232 for a pfSense project, to build a dedicated site-to-site Wireguard tunnel between my data core pfSense router and a new remote node. As a long-time Raspberry Pi builder, I was really excited by the possibilities of the Zimaboard. My first impression was that the coolness factor is just off the charts. The heatsinks look sweet. No fans. Dual NICs, PCIe slot, how cool is this! The chipset even supports AES-NI CPU crypto, which is really important for VPN routers (even though I don’t get to take advantage of that with Wireguard). The possibilities are vast with this thing. For my application, I added rubber feet to stabilize it on a flat surface. The Zimaboard has enough weight to make it stick to a desktop nicely with the added feet. I’m a bit surprised this wasn’t included with it.Installing pfSense was exactly as it usually is (F11 key to enter boot device selection to boot from USB). It went quick with no surprises. It assigned the two NICs to re0 and re1, left and right ports on the rear of the Zimaboard respectively. I have read online that pfSense sometimes has issues with Realtek NICs, but after 3 weeks of heavy traffic utilization, I have had zero glitches. I have not had to disable hardware checksum offload in pfSense. Solid.I have pushed close to 10 TB of data through my Wireguard tunnel in the last 3 weeks, and it hasn’t missed a beat. The processor keeps up with Wireguard throughput up to around 150mbps very well. I will attach a screenshot of the pfSense dashboard that was captured after a large file transfer had been running through the Wireguard tunnel for about 10 minutes at around 80mbps. This is perfect for my application. It also comes with some very cool stickers, which I just love. Nice touch.Rock solid on pfSense so far. So cool!
  • Very Capable Little Computer – Passive Heatsink is Excellent
I bought the ZimaBoard as a small server for my barn which lacks heating and air conditioning. The ZimaBoard’s big heatsink looks perfect, and removes the possibility of a fan failing in the harsh environment. It hasn’t faced summertime heat yet, but it runs cool so far. I’ll update this review if something goes wrong when the hot weather arrives. It seems like the ZimaBoard would be comparable to the Raspberry Pi 4, but as much as I love the RasPi and the company’s mission, the ZimaBoard is really in a different league. It seems snappy, and my benchmarking confirms it: The ZimaBoard is much faster, and it runs amd64 architecture which is nice. It has a bigger footprint than the RasPi, but it’s still tiny. Quality is far nicer than I expected at this price point, and it feels heavy and solid. So far so good. It appears that this will be a great little headless server, and might even have enough grunt for desktop use.UPDATE 07/23/2023:It’s summertime and my ZimaBoard has stayed up without a hitch, even in an environment without air conditioning. This week I moved 7TB of data through it with rsync, which caused a continuous load of about 35% CPU usage for 24 hours, and it handled the task, no problem. And this was during a heat wave with 100°F (~38°C) daytime temps. Once the CPU nears 50°C it throttles down, keeping temps in check, and without much performance hit in my case. Turns out, the ZimaBoard is as rugged as it looks, and the passive heatsink does its job, even in the heat.UPDATE 08/05/2024It’s been two snowy winters and two very hot summers and my Zimaboard has been rock solid, all without climate control. Aside from reboots from updates or the occasional power outage, it’s been up and available, no hiccups, no drama. During an especially frigid stretch last winter I threw a shoebox over it for a couple days, but I doubt if it even needed it. I always know that when I SSH over to it, it’ll answer. Couldn’t be happier.
  • Very outdated build
Overall the device is okay however the device came with several issues which had to be fixed straight off the bat.The CasaOS version was several revisions out of data arriving with version 0.4.1, the current version being 0.4.9. I was wondering why it was so out of date and then I noticed that apt was giving me key signature errors.. I was like okay that doesn’t seem great. Turned out that the date was so incorrect the ntp server was rejecting the connection from the device. I had to set the ntp sync to manual, manually adjust the date and then set it back to manual and reboot the service. Once that happened I had 557 out of date packages. After rebooting the zimaboard, I resolved most of the update issues like fixing the samba config, updating the casaos image and fixing broken packages. The overall security by default is pretty abysmal so I highly suggest to setup the device with no ports forwarded/exposed on your network. All in all the product is good just as long as you know your way around linux administration and troubleshooting as you may run into problems.
  • Great NAS
Have had this unit for the better part of a year and it works great. Initially I had issues with the CasaOS software that came with it. Couldn’t get any support, which was very disappointing and cost me a lot of wasted time trying to figure out myself. About a week or so later a software update came out which fixed the issue. Since then, I have enjoyed the unit. One gripe I have is when using the SATA connector, it won’t recognize existing data on the drive. So it needs to be blank or it needs to be reformatted. With the USB ports, this is not an issue. Otherwise, the unit has fast data transfers. Also, I recommend using a third party software like Tailscale to be able to securely access the connected drives remotely. This setup is far superior to the Synology I had before it. Its also very quiet.

What Customers Say:

  • Arrived exactly as described. Would buy from this vendor again.
The server arrived exactly as described with regard to CPUs, memory, and hard drives. Server was clean inside and out, but was obviously used (of course.) No dings, bent metal, or defects. It arrived with Server 2012R2 evaluation copy installed, with all 8 drives striped into a RAID0 array, which made it easy to check for issues. The BIOS was current, but most of the other system firmware was a bit behind, so I updated them with downloads from the HP site. No issues performing the updates.iLO works properly on the machine, but is unlicensed. If you want to be able to run a remote console through iLO for more than a few minutes, you will need an iLO license key. Once added to the server, the iLO remote console works properly as well. Note that you need the key for the remote console, but not for other features if iLO.Don’t expect this to be a quiet machine. It is a 1U rack form factor, and has a bank of 8 small fans in the front to force air through the case. The chassis is filled with temperature sensors (you can see all of them on the iLO webpage.) When the machine is idle, the fans run at about 20% speed, which is like a small desk fan. When it is booting up the fans run at around 55% to 60%, which is “ready for takeoff” mode. Don’t plan on keeping it in your workspace…it may need to be set up in another room and wired into the network there. It came with redundant, hot swappable power supplies. Great for server use, but with a caveat. The power supplies have NO power cables coming off of them. They attach directly to the motherboard through a single connector, much like a hot swappable hard drive. This means that there are no loose power cables to connect to an added PCI card. There is a “slim line SATA” port to attach a DVD-ROM drive, where some power can be tapped (5V, 1.5A.) However, because of the layout of the case (1U height) and the way it manages heat (one row of fans up front), it is very sensitive to anything that obstructs or modifies the airflow in the case. so cable management that does not obstruct the airflow is critical. I tried adding a full height USB3 card with an external cable for port power to the server, and the fans switch to idling at 50%.The server has two PCIe slots…one 8x half-height slot and one 16x full height slot. Great for SAS cards and 10Gb network cards, but I wouldn’t try putting a video card into it (no external power connectors other than that SATA port.) Might be OK if the video card does not require a power supply connection, but I would still be worried that the fans would kick into “blow out your eardrums” mode. The p420i raid card it uses is capable of using both SAS and SATA drives, but not in the same virtual disk. It can read SSDs as well. I reconfigured it with a 1TB Mushkin Reactor MLC sata drive I had handy as the OS drive. (Yes, I realize that consumer grade drives don’t have nearly the write cycles of an enterprise grade SSD, but it will be fine as the OS drive, especially given the 1TB size vs the space requirement of a running OS. Of course, if your deploying a production server to a data center, other parameters apply…)The p420i card has two operating modes…RAID and HBA. It can only do one or the other. In RAID mode, the physical drives are not visible to the user, only the RAID virtual drives. In HBA mode, the drives are all visible to the OS. That said, I was not able to get the machine to boot from a drive in the drive array in HBA mode. It was visible, but the machine reported that it could not boot from the drive. So plan on using the RAID functionality of the machine for all of the drives in the front bay, not storage spaces. (This can be worked around by booting off of an INTERNALLY mountable SD card…the server is designed to do this for added security. I did not try it as I do not have a suitable SD card handy.)The evaluation version OS initially installed on the machine was password protected. I had to call to get the password. No issues doing so, the phone was answered immediately by someone who was able to give me the password. Nice service :)Overall, the machine is exactly what I expected and the components were all as advertised. It included 2 power cords. The service call I had to make to the seller was answered quickly and competently. I would buy from this vendor again.
  • Great server – especially for the price!
I bought this server despite the disparity in reviews. I was a little confused on how it would come configured. My model came very well packaged with two power cords (for the redundant power supplies) and the server. The server itself has two decently powered Intel Xeons. It originally came with 8 300GB 10K SAS drives. First thing I’d recommend is swapping these out for at least one SSD (boot drive) and then some 900GB SAS drives (can be found cheap on Reddit’s HomeLab Sales subforum). This will add about $120 to the cost, but it’s been an absolute beast since I did this. My unit also came with 64 GB of 1333DDR3 ECC RAM. So, it’s far from the fastest, but gets the job done. I bought another 64 GB of it from eBay for about $80. All told, for around $500, I got a server with 5TB of storage (not counting the boot drive and the two parity drives), 128GB of RAM, and two Xeon processors with a total 24 threads. This thing is an awesome hypervisor. I run 2019 Datacenter as the bootable OS, Hyper-V to run an Exchange server, a VM running 10 Pro with 40GB of RAM (for comp sci research), and a handful of other small projects. This is a great server, and will last a while I think. I even have room for about another 256GB of RAM (though the fiancee would murder me if I bought more RAM lmao). I’ll probably be virtualizing my current DC into a VM on this server. 10/10 I would recommend buying this over any other, especially if you can pick it up for the $250 I got it for.Hope this helps!
  • Good, Solid Product
I’ve been running my server non-stop for 4 months in my basement (temp+humidity controlled) and have not run into any issues. First thing I did was buy 4x 256 SSD’s and swapped out the HDD’s that came with this server, rebuilt the RAID array and installed ESXi 6.7 with a free license. All ports work great, no issues with ILO or NIC’s. The only issue I had was I had a power outage and one of the PSU’s did not come up. I ended up re-seating it and the power cable to bring it back up. The reason that this is not 5-stars is because I need another badly so if anyone reading this wants to buy me another that’d be great — message me back, thanks! 😀
  • Server review
The unit they sent me had 4x600GB hard drives instead of 8x300GB as listed. I prefer the ones they sent me, though, since it allows me room for upgrades later. This is my first actual enterprise-grade server, so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. Some thoughts:- I wish I knew it on initial setup on my ESXI image, but the iLO interface remote console helps a lot. Even though it eventually boots you off (no license for ‘advanced features’ like remote console), you can reconnect for a couple more minutes.- Another thing I wish I knew right away is that I had to go to provision the hard drives.- LOTS of room for more RAM expansion, which I plan on doing in the future. 64GB is nice for a couple VMs, but I’m trying to build a home lab capable of running several.- Item description shows 450W power supplies. However, mine were 750 watt. According to iLO, I’m only pulling 94 anyway, just idling.- The iLO admin username and password are printed on a stick on the top. I saw some other review indicate that they had to call support for that information, but the one I found on my case worked just fine. It looks like the seller reset the iLO configuration a couple months ago, probably when they were preparing it for sale.Overall, satisfied with the item and it’s more or less what was advertised.

What Customers Say:

  • Came one week early, clean, and works
This server is great and works as expected. Well made, large capacity memory. You have fully functional and you can remotely control everything thing about it.
  • Very impressed!
Came in great condition, clean, no dust, no issues. Actually a bit better CPU than advertised!Started up no failures or issues showing healthy! VERY much impressed with the state of this server. Obviously, no iLO license or similar, but for a homelab kinda thing, it’s in great shape at an amazing price! PLUS fast shipping, lots of protection in the package. IF anything that’s probably my one complaint is that the box was fairly… dinged up and could have used a stiffer box with more protection, but at the price, I can’t complain TOO Much as long as it runs/works without failures.
  • Great little homelab server
Great experience! The device arrived DAYS earlier than the estimated arrival. The packaging was properly secured. More than enough bubble wrap and styrofoam. After unboxing, I was able to plug it in, setup iLO, and virtually monitor the device reaching TrusNAS without any issues.I did have one of the 600GB drives arrive DOA after only a few minutes of activity. Ebay has a bunch of 600GB, 900GB, and 1.2TB drives for cheap. Overall plesant experience.
  • Received the server as described.
The packaging was well done and arrived in good condition. As expected, the server’s external surface shows signs of usage, with no major dents or scratches, and the access panel opens freely. Internal components are as advertised, and it booted without issues and has been running solid for the last week.
  • Storage not working
I got the server and it turned on nice but when I tried installing windows server on it I come to find out the the component that connects the storage is broken
  • Quality across the board.
I’m lovin it. Sangoma specifications for FreePBX declares this server “overkill” Lol!THAT’s how I like it! ????More than I expected, such as four 10gb fiber sfp adaptors as well as two 500 watt native power supplies. It will be put into commission first thing in the morning and start its long life of transporting the human voice. BOOM!
  • Great server for a great price
My server also arrived early and was exactly as described. I bought it for a home lab to replace various aging computers (NUCs, RPIs etc) around my house and it does not disappoint. No missing components or anything, although I didn’t get the surprise processor upgrades some have mentioned. Two things I wished I knew before purchasing.1, it will run proxmox without any crazy modifications. No need to compile any code or anything, just make 8 raid zero drives if you want to take advantage of ZFS2, components do come loose during shipping sometimes. I spent two days trying to get it to boot normally before discovering one of the processors heat sinks wasn’t securely attached. Check your system when you get it.The seller has been fantastic to me.All in all a great buy I would recommend to anyone.
  • Good Purchase for Refurbished Server
I purchased this DL380G9 for a home lab server because it had very good specs and (8) 600GB hard disks. The unit itself arrived in good condition and is a great addition to my home lab environment letting me move my virtualization host off desktops to a server grade machine. There were only two issues with the unit. The first was the air dam for the fans was missing which wasn’t a huge deal as I’m not putting a heavy load on the system and cooling doesn’t seem to be a problem. The second issue was failed hard drives. Within the first 6 weeks I had two hard drive failures which the vendor promptly replaced but the second replacement arrived DOA and the vendor did not replace and quit responding to my emails. I was forced to buy additional disks from another vendor. I was able to purchase this server at a good price so it wasn’t too bad for a refurb just be warned you may have to buy additional parts. I only wish the vendor had continued to communicate with me.
