I had this cd several years ago but lost it in the flood of 2016. Came across it and had to have it. Thanks Amazon for bringing me back in time.

I originally found this at a thrift store. It was stolen out of my car but my evening routine with my kids was to listen to it until they fell asleep. We all loved it.so much I just had to replit and theyre not easy to find.

I absolutely love it, I bought the cd , ???? disk and played it in my car (((((( ???? )))))) I was rocking it with Pure Moods original tracks as I remembered it, sound was clear too. ????

I bought this because I was nostalgic for the commercials, and was immediately reminded that it’s full of highly enjoyable tracks. 12/10 would recommend listening to it on a roadtrip.

I actually had this as a teen but it was lost along the way. I love this cd. It’s got a great selection of music and I greatly enjoy the peace and relaxation it gives me. Helps me escape the busyness of the days.

I had this CD in the late ’90s early 2000s. I used to walk around in my house holding my baby’s son while it played, it helped me get him to sleep. I am so glad I was able to buy this again I absolutely love it.

I was on tiktok and there was a song that is on this CD and I spent over an hour trying to find it. Once I did and received it I played the whole CD on repeat for 2 days and was instantly transported back to high school. I will say this may quite possibly be the best purchase I have ever made on Amazon.

I also own Pure Moods II and can say that I find this CD equally enjoyable-except for the X-Files and Tubular Bells tracks. I had no clue that “Tubular Bells” was the theme song to The Exorcist, until I listened to it for the first time after purchasing the CD. I can’t figure out why they put these 2 songs on this CD, considering it’s not the type of music that puts you in the “purist of moods”. Maybe had I never seen The Exorcist or watched an episode of X-Files, I could enjoy the music for what it is, but I guess I’ll be forever tainted. And, trust me, I’ve tried getting past my “fears”, but every time I listen to these two particular songs, all I see are images of Agents Scully & Mulder chasing after some alien or Linda Blair’s spinning head.Overall, if you can get past the creepy tracks, it’s an excellent CD.

Teddy is the best artist out right. Down home Georgia boy has been playing small venues for years. It has paid off. You are going to be hearing a lot out of this artist. This albumn is wonderful each song.

Initially I was surprised that the Chakra Suite I received was the 35th anniversary edition, hoping it gives no worse than the the old edition that is still available for previewing on the amazon webpage, and the 35th anniversary edition really did not go wrong and demonstrates it as an exceptional pieces of arrangement of sound frequency.The picture on the cd cover was properly chosen, the coloring choice and shapes placement are balancing. My sister saw it with her first impression immediately told my nephew that it was beautiful without anyone asking her opinion.When I first come across with this kind of new age music absent any prior knowledge on Chakra Suite, I fell in love right away and eagerly looking for a suitable new age cd that I would like to purchase. I read opinions from forums, and found that theta wave is able to associate with deep meditation, which is a state that can help relaxation, inspiration, healing, and etc. Then I search “theta” in Amazon music section, and chose the best selling option, it just popped as the first result, I listened to some previews, and instantaneously know this is the ‘destiny’s call” CD I need to purchase. I also compare a lot of other results, previewing them and only 1 other cd by Anugama, Shamanic Dream, which was the second best selling from “theta” search gave me the “destiny’s call” feeling which no other cd from the new age, mediation, healing or other sections in Amazon could give me.This was the first new age music cd together with “Shamanic Dream” I bought. Without hurry when I received the 35th anniversary edition noticing there would be different than the non-35th anniversary edition preview that I heard, I played it during a family dinner gathering, the music hit our heads like the silence you get after a Judge pounding the gavel, everyone at the noisy dinner table felt soothing, and quiet down to a mind set that you can really listen to someone who wants to give his/her opinion.The sound is really radiant that it seems it shines on you, and after that gathering when I play the cd, I can just feel the ambiance changes in a way that seemingly spiritual if I can describe it correctly.Later, it led me into research more on chakra balancing and realising there are huge resources on the Internet about chakra in existence, which should be one of the effects Chakra Suite does that I can explore with, and I can conclude this cd is no doubt helpful to my life.

This is the best CD in my collection, I am not sure about its healing properties but I can guaranty it’s a very good tool if you want to relax and clear your mind. Every time I feel stressed, angry or “blue” I lie down on the floor, take few deep breaths then listen to this CD. Half an hour later my mind is incredible clear, I am relaxed and have a positive attitude. I am sure it doesn’t work for everybody; I tried many other CDs before that seemed to work fine for everybody else but not for me. If this works for you I can suggest another exercise that I learned somewhere else and works fine with this CD. Close your eyes and imagine a ball of light (it can actually have any shape or color), imagine this light as a healing light. Imagine the light “scanning” your body. As you listen to the first chakra song the light is warming up exactly that area of your body, then you listen the second chakra song and the light goes there and so on for all of them. It’s not an easy exercise, it takes a lot of practice but after a while you’ll PHISICALLY feel warm around the chakra points. I don’t know how the brain does this but it’s real.

I am very happy with the purchase of this CD. I purchased it to relax me, heal me and to clear out my blocked chakras. I feel great every time after I listen to it. This is a product definitely worth getting if you need some healing and relaxation music. Wonderfully put together!

I use this going to sleep and I fall asleep in no time . Very pleasant.

Good relaxing music

I have trouble staying asleep some nights, and I’ve recently found that certain types of music or sounds can put me in a relaxed state. Steven Halpern’s “Chakra Suite” is one of the best for this purpose.The chakra suite is supposed to be used to meditate on each of the seven chakras or power centers of the body. I am not one who meditates, on chakras or other things, but if you do meditate, this is supposed to be a good aid to focus one’s energy and concentration. The bonus on this CD is the “Spectrum Suite” and another bonus, Sonic Satori thath is supposed to use the power of sonic entrainment. a psycho-acoustic technology with an effect on brainwaves.The music involves notes with 8 cycles per second, which is said to synch the brain to relaxed brain waves, for example:Alpha – 8-12 CPS (associated with relaxed, calm, and creative waking state)Theta – 5-7 CPS (associated with dreams, suggestive states, hypnagogic states)Delta – 1-4 CPS (associated with deep, dreamless sleep)Whatever the effect, I find playing one of the suites as I lie in bed, relaxes me to the point where I drop off easily. I also like it for a quick relaxation break during a stressful, long day.

As much as I enjoy the music, I really should watch the movie sometime. Although the same is true of “Grease”, great soundtrack but in that case I didn’t care for the film.

Classic country! Each track reminds me of the movie. One of my favorite’s is “Lookin’ for Love” by Johnny Lee for its catchy melody and his distinctive voice! Every song on this CD is timeless! A great soundtrack.

I really loved the movie Urban Cowboy, and I really love this soundtrack. I’m glad it’s on CD. The amazon product description gives all the 18 songs and artists included on this soundtrack, so there’s no need to repeat that here. Some of my favorite songs from this soundtrack, include: Jimmy Buffet “Hello Texas”, Mickey Gilley “Stand By Me”, Johnny Lee “Lookin’ For Love”, The Charlie Daniels Band “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”, Gilley’s Urban Cowboy Band “Orange Blossom Special”, Anne Murray “Can I Have This Dance”, and Boz Scaggs “Love Look What You’ve Done to Me”. When I hear these songs, they remind me of the movie.Recently, I saw Mickey Gilley & his Urban Cowboy Band on their 30th Anniversery Tour of the Urban Cowboy movie, that was shown in movie theatres back in 1980. Mickey is recovering from an injury, but he is making a great comeback. Mickey is from my home state of Louisiana, he is Jerry Lee Lewis’cousin. This 30th Anniversery Show, that I saw, was down in Concordia Parish, Louisiana, Mickey’s hometown is in this Parish. It was Mickey Gilley Day in Concordia Parish, Louisiana. It was on September 12, 2010. I really enjoyed the show, it was fantastic. You can get a dvd of this 30th Anniversery Show, from Mickey’s website. I knew after the show, that I had to get me a CD of the “Original Soundtrack”, so I ordered on through Amazon. I love it!!! Thanks!!!

I loved it.

Whether you call this country music or not (some tracks are, some aren’t), it’s impact is undeniable. Pop country became fashionable. Traditional country did briefly fight back via the Judds, Ricky Skaggs, George Strait, Randy Travis and others, but then came Garth Brooks – and you can see the roots of his music in this soundtrack.Of the first four tracks, three are uptempo rockers and the fourth is a rock ballad. After that, the songs have a definite country flavor. The only two that I would call real country are (surprisingly) the two Bonnie Raitt tracks. I love Bonnie’s music, but I’ve never heard anything like these tracks on her own albums – and neither of them has yet appeared on a Bonnie compilation. Bonnie fans who like country music should buy this just for Darlin’ and Don’t it make you wanna dance.Nearly all the songs were recorded especially for the soundtrack. Two obvious exceptions are Lyin’ eyes and Devil went down to Georgia, but they are great songs and fit here well. Could I have this dance? is one of my favorite Anne Murray songs. It was not released on any of her original albums, but has appeared on some of her compilations. Love the world away is one of Kenny Rogers’ best songs. I could go on …. I’ve never seen the movie, but this is a great soundtrack.

Has the sound of the Eagle’s orginal tracks , but with a slightly country take. Wish it a little more country take. Will order again if my daughter doesn’t return it.

This is a classic cover album that I found in a box store about 20 years ago. Been looking for another CD since; lost the earlier one. Glad to have found it. If you like The Eagles, this is a must have;t he music is solid and original, yet the various artists add some nuance that gives a traction to the long-time Eagles fan. Worth the money and, as far as I know, blessed by The Eagles themselves.

If you like the Eagles music, buy it. If you like good country music singers, buy it. The best of both worlds, an album that checks the boxes for what I want in good music. Recommended to all. Price was right, packaged well, arrived in good time! Buy it and you won’t be disappointed.

Unlike some of the reviewers here, I don’t consider the cover tracks on this album better than, or even quite as good as, the Eagles’ originals. But most of them are, no question, good performances of some great original tunes.For all their California rock/pop-ness, the Eagles always had strong country influences in their sound (Don Henley himself has made reference to the band’s “satanic-country-rock period” during the era of the “One of These Nights” album), and so adapting their songs to the vocal stylings of country singers isn’t that big a stretch. The tracks on this tribute CD are pretty straightforward covers of some of their classics: in most cases, the track-length is within seconds of the Eagles’ originals. Some of the versions have been “countried-up” a little, but even then they’re pretty faithful to the originals.Personally, I think I was most impressed by Clint Black’s “Desperado,” Tanya Tucker’s “Already Gone,” and Travis Tritt’s “Take it Easy.” Suzy Bogguss did a fine job with “Take It to the Limit,” but I missed the Eagles’ tight harmonies on this one. For all Suzy’s talent, I just don’t think it sounds as good as a solo. And I wish they would have found someone to cover “Witchy Woman” or even “Hotel California.” But you can’t have everything.

Was not sure whether I would like this CD but it is great. If you like country music, you will love this.

I love this CD and was so happy to find it at a reasonable price on Amazon. I bought this as a cassette tape many years ago when it first came out. All if the songs are classics and are sung by wonderful country artists whose voices are perfectly chosen for each song.Shipping was fast and my CD arrived in perfect condition.

I’ve never been a true CW fan, but the Eagles were always, for me, a bridge between that genre and rock, and gave me a greater appreciation for CW. When this cover album was released, I was curious to hear these Eagles’ songs done in true CW style, and I was not disappointed. Each of the artists on this album is excellent, and hearing their own interpretations of these classic songs was a treat. If you enjoy the Eagles, and also have even a moderate appreciation of country, then you will love this album.

We like to play music for the dogs while we are out of the house and our old CD stopped working properly. That one was just your typical classical music, this one is said to be scientifically proven to have a calming effect so I decided to give it a try. The dogs seem to enjoy it, and it is definitely better than trying to find a good radio station. We set the player on repeat and have been using it for quite some time now. It is durable and plays perfectly at a nice tempo.

This music puts my dog to sleep, it helps me sleep too.

Mrs Sevaron reviewing since I’m the one who ordered this and have the primary experience with it.I ordered Through a Dog’s Ear Music to Calm Your Canine Companion, Vol. 1 (CD) along with Canine Heartbeat Lullabies. Received them the afternoon of Aug 18, and have been playing both since. We’ve been having thunderstorms, or at least rain, just about every day since early July. They’re not happy with rain, and the harder it rains, the more unhappy they get. They panic with thunderstorms.I had been playing the free sample song on the Canine Heartbeat Lullabies website for over a week prior to ordering – partly to let them hear it during non-stress times only (never played it during storms) and partly to test it when they were being heathenish. It was working so I ordered the CDs. First weather test came less than an hour after the mail arrived. It worked for the rain – they weren’t happy, but not panicky or displaying stressed behaviors. Didn’t work so well when the thunder started. The CD ended at that point, so I restarted it and touched the volume up a bit. By the time I headed back to my chair, one was in her “safe” spot unhappy but no longer panicking, one relaxed in her safe spot a minute later, and our scaredy boy was alternately anxious and okay but unhappy.In the following days, I played TaDE whenever the weather was good to get the dogs used to it, switching to Heartbeat when the weather changed. So far, TaDE has not helped with weather (the pop-up storms sneak up on us), even if there’s no thunder. I now tend to play Heartbeat overnight and during bad weather, and TaDE during the day. I’m hoping that with having played TaDE for a week they’ll soon have a better response to weather changes with it.Last night I decided to take a break from playing either CD. I wasn’t sure if TaDE was actually having an effect … until last night. The dogs were totally heathenish without the music, including barking more (although I suspect it was for tv sounds rather than anything on the street). So far, Heartbeat Lullabies is the clear winner for bad weather, but TaDE is calming during good weather. Your mileage may vary since all dogs are different.Part of the success of these CDs is playing them during non-stress times so the dog(s) learn to associate the music with relaxation. Expect to give them at least a week of listening to the calming music before using it for stressors, such as thunderstorms. And based on my experiences so far with these two CDs, I suggest getting the appropriate TaDE CD for your need. There are editions for puppies, driving, noise phobias, and more. Each edition is specific to a need and audience. Canine Heartbeat Lullabies only has the one.I’m hoping to get more of the TaDE CDs in the future.

I can’t say for sure that my dog finds this calming, but I think so, and it’s very pleasant for the humans to listen to as well! I like that the four CDs have different genres.

Does nothing for my poodle.

If I could give this CD more than 5 stars, I would. I teach music lessons from home one afternoon a week, and my dog has been having some issues being upstairs in his crate alone while there are humans downstairs having fun. He has no issues being home alone, but something about being separated while we are in the house is difficult for him. He would eventually quiet down but would bark from upstairs off and on and especially when students would come and go at the front door. Not a huge deal but distracting for me as a teacher and I could tell he was stressed. I bought this CD honestly not expecting much but figuring it couldn’t hurt to try. I put the CD on this morning while the two of us were hanging around so he would have a positive association with the music for later in the day, and when it came time to teach my lessons brought him upstairs and left him in his crate with a Kong, like usual, and left the CD playing on a loop. Well… not one single bark for 3.5 hrs! Not a sound! Not even when I let students in and out the front door, which is traditionally a big reactive moment for him. I was floored. I went upstairs when I was done teaching and he was just calmly sitting in his crate. My mind is blown! Perhaps it was a fluke… I guess we will see next week… but the CD was the only change this week and he had yet to make it through a lesson without a barking fit. I’m sure every dog is different, but it is definitely worth a shot if you have a dog who could use some relaxation. This was a night and day difference for my Clyde.

I have a three year old Australian Shepherd that has epilepsy and gets extremely anxious during thunder storms. She has a seizure about every three weeks and we are always worried that some event, like a thunder storm, will bring it on even earlier. Playing through a Dog’s Ear during these events really seems to calm her a lot. It’s all piano music but it seems to do the trick. Very happy with this purchase.

I cant explain how thrilled I am with this CD. I was at the end of my rope with my roommate’s dog. She would cry for hours, even if I had her out of her room playing with me and my dog. I tried talking to her in soothing tones, I tried shaking a can at her that she was scared of, I even tried just ignoring her. Last night my roommate left, like she does many nights, and of course her dog cried and yelped-even though she was out running around with me and my dog. So I put her in her room and put on this CD. She cried for maybe 20 seconds, then went to her bed and was silent for hours. It was the craziest thing, and it made my week. I just put the CD on repeat and she was so calm. Normally if she even sees me walk by the room she will have a fit. Yet I went to check up on her and she saw me and didnt make a noise but just went back to her bed. So my roommate gets home and we are expecting the normal crying and barking and general mayhem. Instead we were so pleasantly surprised to have a calm quiet dog in her place. I cant give this CD enough praise, and just wish I had thought of it before.

Perfect soundtrack to an emotional movie of the same name released during the 1990s when Whitney Houston was at the top of her game regarding soundtracks and movies. Here, there are original songs from The Voice herself like Exhale (Shoop, Shoop) that went to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and the brooding Why Does It Hurt So Bad with the last track a duet with Houston and the Gospel empress Cece Winans. I ordered this cassette because I was in the mood for collecting them before they get erased from the face of the earth. I hope there are still cassette tape formats of this lovely soundtrack as I checked there were some. I gave this cassette tape as a Christmas gift for a classmate of mine in high school and she absolutely loved it! Other than that, get this also on Compact Disc or download it to your listening device now in this new age in technology. I assure you you will love songs from Brandy, Toni Braxton, and TLC to name a few that are included on this 90s decade gem! Enjoy!

Great movie soundtrack!

You don’t have to be a fan of the film to enjoy this fine collection of songs. This soundtrack album features a good mix of very famous and underground music legends. Don’t let the title fool you; this music is better described as rock than heavy metal, but it is good rock. Cheap Trick has one of its best songs on this collection (also one of the best songs of the collection): “Reach Out”, which is rarely performed by the band. The catchy and intense “I Must Be Dreaming” is also by Cheap Trick and its frenetic instrumental opening and closing are addictive enough that you’ll catch yourself humming it as you go about your day.Journey’s famous arena ballad “Open Arms” is included here and is required listening for anyone interested in that group. Stevie Nicks has a decent song here with “Blue Lamp” but is rather overshadowed by Riggs’ “Radar Rider”, Grand Funk Railroad’s short but sweet “Queen Bee” and the atmospheric and haunting “Veteran of the Psychic Wars” by Blue Oyster Cult. The two songs that carry the same title as the album and film are decent songs themselves, but while Sammy Hagar’s “Heavy Metal” tends to get old after a few listens (the 1986 album “VOA” is a better representation of what Hagar is capable of), Don Felder’s “Heavy Metal (Takin’ A Ride)” has far more staying power, mainly due to the well-realized hook and the tight vocal harmonies, particularly during the chorus.For whatever reason, the Devo song “Through Being Cool” is conspicuously absent from this album (it was prominently featured in the film), which is a shame as it’s a very good song, but at least Devo’s other offering, a quirky cover of “Workin’ In The Coal Mine” is included.Any fan of 80’s music should enjoy this album; the music is a fine example of its time and much of what is presented here was not released on other collections (there are exceptions though, the most obvious being Devo, Hagar and Journey). Knowledge of the film is not at all necessary to enjoy this. However, I do recommend the film to anyone who enjoys adult animation.If you like 80’s music or any of the bands listed, this is a perfect addition to your music library.

This soundtrack from ’81 is, in my opinion, the greatest soundtrack comprised of a various artist collection. First off, 1981 is probably my favorite year for music in general. It was a time when AOR rock ruled the airwaves and featured fabulous pre-digital guitar tones. So many artists put out landmark records that year. It’s too bad they couldn’t have squeezed in some Billy Squier, Def Leppard or Reo Speedwagon onto this already stellar collection! All those artists produced the best albums of their careers in that year.To my understanding, several of the songs herein were not released on any other albums (Cheap Trick’s two songs, Stevie Nicks “Blue Lamp” and both of Don Felder’s songs). Additionally, two more songs that appeared on artists’ albums, “Heavy Metal” by Sammy Hagar and “Mob Rules” by Black Sabbath, are both remixed versions; different from the ones that appear on their 1981 albums. Both these versions are superior to the ones that appear on the albums “Standing Hampton” and “Mob Rules” respectively.The only reason I give this a four star rating instead of five stars is the fact that one of the Devo songs from the film has been left off this version of the soundtrack. I’m not a massive Devo fan, but I still would like to have the tune that is from the bar fight scene.Regardless, this is a great collection that brings back memories. “Radar Rider” by Riggs is worth the price alone! I can’t listen to this tune without envisioning a ’57 Corvette flying into the atmosphere. This collection is a must-have for anyone who spent part of their formative years in the early 80’s.
