  • Get it????????????????✅????????❤️????????????????️????????
It is my chemical Romance of course It’s so good. I love Gerard Way except when mine did come. The CD side was cracked but that’s OK. It’s still Gerard Way.!!!!
  • Cheap and affordable cds
Got them earlier then expected im happy
  • I love you mcr ????
I love mcr sm omg they’re my favorite band and this is my favorite album of all time, so I bought this as a birthday gift for myself and I adore it sm. Came perfect condition, packaged nicely and normally and came on time actually if I remember correctly it came earlier than anticipated. I haven’t run it yet as I currently don’t have a cd player anymore, but seeing as it was brand new im sure it’ll play nicely.
  • Saved my childhood
Because of the state wide school phone ban, I thought id have to get bullied again, but no, CDs exist, and my moms old.
  • Music not to slit your wrists by…
I’ll admit when MCR first came across my radar, I was right on the verge of being too old for their targeted demographic, but there was just something about this band. Nearly a decade later, and this beast is still taking me to that same place as it had that first time. Is it a dark place? No. This music isn’t a Catholic cry fest, nor is it a denial of life. It is, contrary to the lyrical imagery or the frenzied mood of the music, a celebration of life in spite of all the evil @#*! that it often brings. Sure, there are gangster vampires, car crashes, dying loves and all those haunted memories crowding these songs like demented, drug-addled party-worn phantoms, but beyond all that the sense I always got from Gerard Way’s words (and especially in his delivery) was “Give me all your poison…you’re running after something you’ll never kill…”I once described this band (to a friend) as “the Pixies meets Metallica.” I don’t know if that ever did this band, or their music any justice, but I still stand by the description. Unlike the frenzied punk of the Pixies, there was dark driven guitar after layered guitar burning as brightly and as intensely as anything Metallica, or any other metal band had done before them. But unlike Metallica, there was just always this punk rock edge I’m certain Cliff Burton would have very much appreciated. Put it this way, if metal was the leather clad father, and Goth powder faced black lipstick wearing smokey eyed mother, and emo the drama-queen daughter with black mascara streaks running from her eyes, then MCR certainly drank from the fount of this particular undead muse, even if they denied the label. They weren’t like any other band from this, the fourth wave of hard rock bands (counting since the late 60s/early 70s). They weren’t Thursday, or the Used, and definitely less poppy than say Fall Out Boy or AFI. Like KISS, Alice Cooper, Bauhaus, and Marilyn Manson, they donned specific looks for each album, often portraying characters spun right out of Gerard Way’s fertile imagination, giving their music (as well as the band’s image) an extra dimension lacking in other artists. Because of the controversy they courted, and the inclusive nature of their message, they spawned a loyal cult-like following that only grows rather than declining, even since their permanent split going on two years now. (Has it been so long already?)If you don’t believe that hype, just look at the prices that not only Three Cheers is going for (the original 2008 red vinyl fetches between $200 to $300), not to mention the recent reissues from Newbury Comics and Hot Topic (already climbing to around $100 and higher). People are really paying these prices because they so love the music this band created. But like any good thing, even this had to come to an end. Truly there have been kids who have worn black clothes and sported long hair (often dyed in different shades), whose lives have been cut short due to poor choices and/or suicidal tendencies (the name of a great band from the late 80s), but to blame this band or their music for such sad behavior simply misses the point. Like any artist, great and otherwise (even the aforementioned Marilyn Manson, who once accused this band of sincerely flattering him), they were making a STATEMENT, often confused by (already confused) pundits who hate new music and are truly terrified of the impact it might have upon the kids, with the message diluted or even twisted hopelessly beyond the intended meaning by the time it gets to the parents (and us other old-timers). It isn’t the first time this has gone on (I still remember the Christian right-wingers marching in protest in front of Marilyn Manson venues), nor I predict, will it be the last. The POINT, as I see it, is that there is a certain joy to be had, even in the darkness, in spite of all the pain. It certainly isn’t worth cutting your wrists over. Just put Three Cheers back on the old CD player, or if you like, give that vinyl version a spin and crank it like it’s the first time. It’ll be OK, you’ll see.Trust me.

  • Arctic Monkeys Get Surreal
(3 1/2 *’s) UK’s latest and greatest new sensation, The Arctic Monkeys, come up with a follow up to their smash debut, ‘Whatever They Say I Am, I’m Not’ with more experience under their belts. Overall, they add some texture and, as the title suggests, the darker aspects of their brain hemispheres for the lyrics. While I don’t possess their heralded debut, I know by listening to the samplers that this album has more variety, but less of the immediacy of their first C.D.Starting with “Brainstorm,” we get a propulsive electrical storm that provides a cyclical effect reminiscent of the ‘Pulp Fiction’ soundtrack. In the fast forward vein they still deliver their best, fronted by Alex Turner’s trajectory of images that sometimes seems like alternative’s free association answer to rap. Never getting tongue tied, Alex’s words, nevertheless, don’t always integrate well into the mesmerizing mix. Following the “Brainstorm,” “Teddy Picker” comes to the fore with arguably the album’s best song. Proving that experience hasn’t tarnished the band, anti-glam “Teddy…” is truly an intricate gem. Keeping in the third person, we get lines about women who make love go wrong. Included is that propulsive assertion for “D Is for Dangerous” with some scathing words for some wayward girl known as “Your favourite worst nightmare”. Later, “Do Me a Favour” featuring Ventures’-like sounds, asks the lamented beloved to “Break my nose.” And “Old Yellow Bricks” seals the bad deal, lamenting “You’re a fugitive, but you don’t know what you’re running away from.” The playful “This House Is a Circus” and the heavy “The Bad Thing” almost live up to the aforementioned, but new territory is achieved with the shimmering “Fluorescent Adolescent” and the Stray Cats-like “Only One Who Knows”.At their best, Arctic Monkeys gives us some new hooks and elaborations of what they’ve already accomplished. When they’re effective, they connect well. Sometimes the trajectory flows like a dream; at other times the whole project is ordinary and stuck in idle. For those who remember The Undertones, this album reminds one of the transition when they went from the propulsive punk to the artiness of ‘Positive Touch’. Hopefully, with gradual changes, The Arctic Monkeys won’t undergo the Undertones’ fate.
  • A CLASSIC
This album is easily tied for number one in their catalog. Every song is distinct but somehow they all fit together as well. The lyrics are crisp and the songs and they are ALWAYS playing in the pocket.CLASSIC“Do me a favor”. Go get this one.

  • Good music
Good music. It’s funny how music can take you back in time just for a moment. Music can also allow you to get lost in your thoughts. Zeppelin has always been good for that for me. My only complaint is it came in a cardboard sleeve instead of a jewel case. Not a deal breaker. Record albums use to come in cardboard jackets. There is something special about picking up a CD or a LP and playing what you want to hear. I do stream my music. That is not the same. It’s alright, good music.
  • Perfect Transaction!

  • Great Classic
One of the all time greatest albums from one of the all time great bands!
  • Led Zeppelin’s Fourth Album: A Superb Classic!
What more can you say about this fourth album from Led Zeppelin? It is by no doubt a classic. In fact it was the first Zeppelin album I bought on vinyl once I started high school as the seventies drew to a close. But of course I first this album back in the early seventies when my sister borrowed it from a friend not to mention hearing the songs “Black Dog”, “Rock And Roll” and, of course, “Stairway To Heaven” on the radio constantly back in the day. Originally I was going to get the deluxe CD copy of this but then upon discovering the second disc was merely the same set of songs but with different mixes involved as part of head Zep man Jimmy Page’s remasters not to mention the altering of the cover so I decided to stick with the standard version as I know it. You have eight great songs on here which is just right[That’s four songs per side on vinyl] and much of them classic in their own right. Half of these selections are credited to guitarist Jimmy Page and lead vocalist Robert Plant. Two songs(“Black Dog” and “Misty Mountain Hop”)has Page and Plant co-credited with bassist John Paul Jones. All four members of the group[The fourth member being drummer John Bonham]collaborate on “Rock And Roll”, which is considered a drummer’s favorite amongst aspiring rock drummers everywhere. The album’s concluding track “When The Levee Breaks” find the entire band co-credited to Memphis Minnie(!) when in actually the song dates back to 1927 as recorded by the artist herself with the help of another blues guitarist. This version makes it a rock classic within itself with its recorded set-up involving a single mike for Bonham’s drums, the fantastic harmonica wailing from Robert Plant and Jimmy Page’s use of slide guitar with John Paul Jones’ bass anchoring the bottom. There are two guest appearances on this album. The first is the piano playing talents of original Rolling Stones co-founder Ian Stewart on “Rock And Roll”[The Zeppelin song “Boogie With Stu” from Physical Graffiti was recorded in the same session reportedly. “Stu” was the nickname of Stewart for those who still don’t know]. The second is Fairport Convention vocalist Sandy Denny on “The Battle Of Evermore”, the first of two acoustic songs on the album. The other acoustic song is “Going To California” in homage to the Joni Mitchell song “California”. Both of these acoustic songs feature mandolin playing by either Jimmy Page or John Paul Jones. The only other track featured on this fourth Zeppelin effort is “Four Sticks” with its barrage of riffs any guitarist and bassist could use. Supposedly the title was literally due to the use of four drumsticks used by John Bonham when recording the piece. Arguably, the best song on here is “Stairway To Heaven” and is considered an anthem for AOR[Album Oriented Rock]and always tends to top the lists of various FM station countdowns with Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Freebird” coming in second. The arrangement itself is crafted out well-the acoustic beginning supplied with double-tracked recorders by John Paul Jones; the middle section half acoustic/half electric featuring electric piano, 12-string electric guitar, bass guitar and drums; the electrifying conclusion including a guitar solo that has force to be reckoned with. Finally, the title of this album has many people puzzled. Even though this was Led Zeppelin’s fourth album they never had an appropriate title for it and each member of the band chose his own symbol or rune and they each appeared on the label next to their group name. Many people assumed it was titled after Page’s rune Zoso[A 1527 meaning for Saturn reportedly], while Plant’s was the feather within a circle, Jones’ was the trilateral interlocking within a circle and Bonham’s was the interlocking circles meaning man, woman and child which bears striking resemblance to the Ballentine beer logo. Sandy Denny also had a rune for herself which was the three downpointing triangles that looked almost similar to the Fallout Shelter design. Other nicknames for this album were: The Hermit[The front cover design], Runes, The Stairway To Heaven Album[The songs’ lyrics were printed inside the inner sleeve plus it showed an illustration of a man carrying a lantern atop of a high hill], The Fourth Album and, of course, Zoso. If you don’t have this album in your collection, then you don’t know what you’re missing. This is one Led Zeppelin album no one should be without. If you want to get the Led out, get it out with this one and you won’t go wrong. Rock And Roll!
  • For me this is Led Zeppelin’s best album
Best CD of LZ in my humble opinion. Received my CD in good order and working perfectly.
  • Cardboard cover, not plastic.
CD cover is cardboard not the usual plastic. CD is fine.

What Customers Say:

  • Amidst a sea of juvenile criticisms (the kind female artists seem to face exclusively), Lana Del Rey proves she has the chops!
If you haven’t heard of Lana Del Rey by now, then you’ve probably just crawled out from under a rock (we have a black President now, by the way…) Lana has garnered a pretty loyal fan base over the last year following a string of popular Youtube music vids from her EP. She has also come to the attention of many others (myself included) more recently following an SNL performance that garnered much negative attention, including tweets from the likes of has-been actresses Juliette Lewis and Eliza Dushku. Everyone waited with anticipation for the release of this album to see if she could put the money where her pouty mouth is.And I think she more than paid off! The album is a love-letter to fans of trip-hop and lushly orchestrated ballads. Lana is a vocal breath of fresh air, eschewing the auto-tune that is the current bane of the music industry. And the tracks are varied enough to not get stale, and as I mentioned, well orchestrated and multi-layered. It’s a sonic delight that compels multiple play-throughs. It’s been awhile since an album has dominated my player as much as this one has. I’ve listened to it nearly exclusively over the past week, and even the few tracks that I didn’t like at first have become favorites! The album opens with the four songs that comprised her EP from 2011. BORN TO DIE, OFF TO THE RACES, BLUE JEANS, and VIDEO GAMES. To me, these were all fresh as I never heard the EP before. OFF TO THE RACES is an album favorite of mine, and is frankly the reason I finally decided to download the entire album. VIDEO GAMES, of course, is the song she will be forever identified with (until she tops it, anyway). And it is indeed a fantastic and dark ballad, though I think the album boasts plenty of songs to rival it.Following this is a handful of tracks updated from her previous recording sessions, and some new tracks. Highlights include more trip hop goodness with DIET MOUNTAIN DEW, a Fiona Apple-esque ballad MILLION DOLLAR MAN, and the swirling (though profane) RADIO.Through multiple listens, and putting pieces together from her interviews and biography, it becomes clear this album is meant as a snapshot of her teen and young adult years. We see two sides of Lana here, singing about partying with her girlfriends on tracks like WHAT MAKES US GIRLS and in full Jersey Girl Twang with NATIONAL ANTHEM (“Gawd, yeh so hansum…”), and then covering more personal ground as the fragile, lovelorn girl who has loved and lost and fears being used, in tracks like the now infamous VIDEO GAMES and MILLION DOLLAR MAN. Between these two extremes lay tales of how girls are used as sex objects … stories of drinking, drugs, and the many other things teens do today to cope with their burgeoning adulthood. Many of her critics brutalized her for their misconception of her as being a shallow artist singing about partying and nothing much else. But there is much more depth here than appears at first glance. I caught it at the end of the last song – Lana laments how she was taken away from her best friends in WHAT MAKES US GIRLS: “They were the only friends I ever had / We got into trouble and when stuff got bad / I got sent away, I was waving on the train platform / Crying ’cause I know I’m never coming back.” Whatever happened during her youth, it ended with her parents sending her to Boarding school – and with this line, the entire album comes into focus. It’s a lament, a funeral dirge for her lost youth and the friends and loves she was forced to leave behind.Which leads to the excellent (and seemingly overlooked) album cover. Lana appears against a mostly clear blue sky with tightly coiffed hair and a white collared shirt, buttoned all the way up to the neck – an image that screams conservative! She’s all grown up now. But then there’s that red bra ghosting through – a reminder that she still retains that wild, party girl somewhere inside her. You can take the girl out of the party scene, but you can’t take away the party girl! What a fantastically appropriate image for the album! In short, Lana rode into town this year amidst a sea of insensitive critics who were more obsessed with her background and the size of her lips than her actual music. Can anyone remember the last time a male artist was chastised for being fake or too handsome!? Who was the last male artist who was declared a manufactured product of the music industry!? It’s a shame that in our current day and age, we still can’t give women a fair shake. Well, fortunately miss Del Rey has more than proven herself, and I look forward to more to come from her in the future!
  • Eleven awesome songs
I am a Lana del Rey BELIEVER despite the SNL mishap. I love her soulful, sultry voice and the interesting, unique song compilation. She tends to have certain themes repeating throughout her songs, but they do not get boring or stale. Some people find her music a bit depressing or not lively enough, but I disagree. I have probably played this CD on repeat over 100 times. I love every song except “Carmen” – find that one kind of odd and too slow for my tastes, but in particular I have gravitated towards:1. Blue Jeans – This is the song that got me hooked on Lana in the first place. I liked the range of her voice, and the unexpected but totally perfect “rap” in the verse.2. Off to the Races – I absolutely hated the verse when it first played, but once the chorus came on, I started to tolerate and then really liked the verse. The chorus is amazingly catchy, chaotic, and fun.3. Summertime Sadness – There is usually one song besides the initial radio hits that become popular with good artists. I honestly would not have pegged this one to be it. I thought “Dark Paradise” or “Diet Mountain Dew” would have been more popular, but I understand why people like this one. The verse is cool and swingy, and I eagerly await the bridge (cause it is SO FUN to sing) every time this song plays.4. Radio – I like the sweet sounding melody paired with the expletives. It was unexpected and kind of fun. Though it sucked that the first time I had this playing, I was in my car, next to a minivan with kids in it. Definitely got some evil eyes from the lady driving the van… sorry, lady. I had NO idea!5. This Is What Makes Us Girls – This song is completely on point. It’s unapologetic in pointing out that us girls tend to kind of leave each other to the wayside in the pursuit of romance, but that it’s a “curse.” I see it as a frank assessment, but something that we can improve on!6. Dark Paradise – Lyrics are super relatable. This is definitely something you listen to when you’ve just gone through a bad breakup. I like that her songs have clear situations in which they apply but are still good to listen to outside of those situations.Overall, her lyrics are super nostalgic, both in calling back times far gone and times of our childhood and youth. It takes me back to the days when I used to play my scant few CDs on repeat, and that’s how I would find all the hidden gems that no one else knew about. Though I understand the ease and convenience of purchasing single digital songs, unless you download the whole album and play it on repeat, you don’t get that same experience as popping a CD in and being somewhat forced to listen to all of the songs. This album is definitely worth listening to in its entirety. (Except “Carmen.” I really don’t like that song.)

  • Clairo has grown up!!!!!
I have been listening to Clairo over the last few years. I love her songs such as Bags, Softly, and Pretty Girl. When I heard she was coming out with a new album, I thought I would give it a listen. I was thinking it would be similar to her previous work. I was wrong. Clairo outdid herself. This album shows her maturity and how she has grown as an artist. You can hear the Blues and R&B influences throughout the entire album. It blends very well with the indie/alt roots. This album was nominated for a Grammy. She deserves the nomination. There are no skips in this album. My favorite songs are “Sexy To Someone” and “Thank You”.

  • The Smiths best CD, ever.
This is without a doubt The Smiths best CD, ever. It’s all very clever, ironic, funny, dark, brooding, even a bit sarcastic at times. The drums are hot and the guitarwork is excellent. Even the singing is top-notch.If you are reading this review, you may already have this CD but if not, you would do yourself very well to get a copy.
  • Essential 80’s Alternative CD
Great classic Smith’s album and the last official album to complete my collection. A must for an alternative fan and 80’s music fan.
  • nice product
    thanks nice LP !!!
  • Their best studio album!
I realize that it may be almost cliché to make a statement that The Queen Is Dead is the best album by The Smiths, a bit like saying that Led Zeppelin IV is the best album by Led Zeppelin. The key difference being, that you could also reasonably argue that IV is Zeppelin’s second, or even third best album. The equivalent argument about The Queen Is Dead, if it could even be started, wouldn’t survive long…For starters, as hard as it is to believe, The Smiths only released four studio albums. Also, the title track to their previous album, Meat Is Murder, is, being honest, kind of a drag, speaking as a huge fan of probably literally every other song that they ever recorded. Strangeways, though brilliant, leans a bit too heavily on the pop side of the band. Their self-titled debut, though legendary for good reason, simply doesn’t possess anything quite as magical as the best songs on TQID.The Queen Is Dead has the perfect amount of everything that The Smiths did incredibly well, even compared to most, if not all, of their best peers. It’s an amazing album, and I’m still genuinely shocked that it took me until I was twenty-seven years old to discover this album, and this band, despite being a fan of virtually every great similar band I can think of, for over a decade! If you enjoy The Queen Is Dead as much as I do, might I suggest that you consider picking up the first Smiths compilation, Hatful Of Hollow, as, like TQID, it is also seemingly flawless, with no overlapping songs!
  • El favorito de mi colección
The media could not be loaded.
  • great vinyl
shipped fast and even better than described. thank you!!
  • Good
Good quality no scratches jumps ex. Not worpd and good sound, there was no picture of the actual record so for anyone wondering it’s black with the smiths name in the middle
  • ✨️❤️
SUPER GOOD ALBUM AND THE DESING OTS REALLY CUTE, the only reason im giving 4 instead of 5 its because the edges of the álbum didn’t cam out right , BUT IGNORING THAT ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT

  • Stunning
A compilation album by one of the three or four most important alternative bands of the 80s. It’s incredible.10 of the 16 songs are live takes from the John Peel and David Jensen shows. I can’t tell the difference in sound between those songs and the other six which were presumably recorded in a studio.Production is low key and allows the songs to breathe and feel natural. Pretty much the opposite of the sheen on an album like “Hysteria” by Def Leppard. So many great songs. Morrissey’s got an amazing voice and jangly guitarist Marr is economically brilliant. The rhythm section of Rourke and Joyce is magnificent and bassist Rourke is particularly impressive. This is a band that understood and appreciated the power of the bass guitar. There’s no synthesizer, keyboards, piano, or harmonica. This is stripped down guitar drums bass rock and roll.I like all the songs. There are many standouts. Some are “William It Was Really Nothing,” “What Difference Does It Make?,” “This Charming Man,” “How Soon Is Now?,” “Hand In Glove,” “Still Ill,” and “Reel Around The Fountain.”Except “How Soon Is Now?” which is almost seven minutes long no song is lengthy. There isn’t a down spot on the album and, though this is blasphemy to many Smiths’ fans, I prefer it to their supposed masterpiece “The Queen Is Dead.” The sound here is more authentic and bare. You can feel the incredible unity and strength of a band very early in its recording career. The 10 songs from the shows were recorded in 83. The Smiths released their first album in Feb of 84. They released this about nine months later. The insert is clutch and has easy to read lyrics for every song. No tiny type or lyrics written on backgrounds that make reading difficult. There’s a great pic of the band and two of Morrissey. The jewel case came with a small crack. Unfortunately par for the course with Amazon.I saw them three times. Twice on “The Queen Is Dead” tour and once on the “Meat Is Murder” tour. A very powerful live act and their breakup after only four studio albums is tragic. They released two excellent compilation albums later in their career which I used to own – “The World Won’t Listen” and “Louder Than Bombs.”Morrissey went on to mixed solo success and took at least one very long break between albums. Marr has been active and in a few bands that had some success. Sadly Rourke is dead. Given Morrissey’s personality, a reunion tour or even show is most likely impossible. They were nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at least once but didn’t get in.This was an amazing band that only made great records. This album rocks hard enough for classic rock fans and has enough differences from the norm in both lyrics and music for alternative fans. This band should have been huge and most likely would have been. Listen to this and find out why.
  • Good item!
Beautiful record. Can’t get tired of listening, good quality.
  • Great Album
Great compilation album, delivered with no damage or issues
  • “Let me get what I want this time”
Completed my Smiths collection. Sounds great, no surface noise.
  • Essential compilation from a legendary band!
The Smiths were one of those bands that, despite being heavily a fan of many of their contemporaries in the New Wave/Post-Punk scene of the ‘80s for many years, I inexplicably never gravitated to, even though everything I’d ever heard about them was that they were amazing, fantastic, one of the greatest bands of all time, and more along those lines…Well, that has changed. I’m still not quite sure what suddenly compelled me to finally give this band a proper listen, but long story short, as an avid listener of virtually everything within this particular sub-genre of music, somehow excluding until recently, The Smiths, they are that good. Having now listened to their entire discography a few times over, I decided to get Hatful Of Hollow, and The Queen Is Dead, after many days of careful reasoning, factoring in the amount of space I have for CDs at the moment, the amount of money I have to spend on CDs at the moment, which songs of theirs I love most, and similar criteria…Hatful Of Hollow is the earliest compilation album by The Smiths, consisting primarily of versions of songs from their first album, recorded live on-air for various radio programs. Each of these tracks differs significantly from the studio take, and personally, I prefer these versions, no offense to that legendary debut LP, which is great, regardless. Notably beyond this, Hatful also contains the first non-single appearance of “How Soon Is Now?”, which would later be added to the US edition of The Smiths’ sophomore album, Meat Is Murder, though I feel like it fits better here. Beyond that, the rest of their pre-Meat singles and b-sides, all of which are fantastic. In summary, this is an essential album, by an essential band of their era and genre. If you’re just getting into The Smiths, this is a great place to start, and if you’re already a Smiths fan, contemplating whether or not to pick up, go for it, unless the decision is between this one, and The Queen Is Dead!
  • Loved
    Perfect gift

  • Weezer is amazing
This…. Changed my life. Before I listened to this CD, I was happy considering myself a Weezer fan. But after listening, I truly understood what I had missed. The lossless quality blew me away.It is the single greatest purchase I have ever made, and the apex of human brilliance. It is a flash point of absolute divine beauty, and its bliss should be known to all.
  • Weezer is my band
this was the first album I had bought. It was the third album in my beginning record collection. It was my introduction to the 90s alternative rock scene. This album was my introduction to weezer. I remember this bands name popping up after I watched a youtube video about the top ten alternative rock bands of the 1990s. I ended up listening to a few songs off the album, mainly the hits, and I was instantly hooked. Eventually, I decided to buy the album. Weezer is just a band that connects to me on a very simple level. This album is categorized by pure rawness and sincerity. The instrumentation isn’t profound, but it doesn’t need to be. The album has a very garage rock sound with banging drums and ripping guitar with some nice hooks. One of the best parts about the album is just how sincere is feels on every level. Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo shows off how geeky and awkward this band is in some cases. I connect to that and I just love it. Rivers isn’t a poet; he just sings what he feels because he can’t any other way. He just tells you how it is. This lets you know that the album means just as much to the band as it does to the listener. this album’s hits: buddy holly, the sweater song, and say it aint so are staples of the band and are just awesome songs. The lyrical content with these range from the fact that rivers looks like buddy holly to going insane to talking about some seriously dark subject matter. Every song is just sincere, unique, and recognizable. My personal favorites: in the garage (I just feel like I can relate to it), my name is Jonas (it is an awesome opener and is just rocking), surf was America ( I just love the riff and it is about surfing!) and only in dreams (you’ll just have to listen to that one). This album is just legendary and although weezer has gone through many ups and downs in their musical career; this album makes sure that their legacy is never tainted.
  • Review
    No complaints! Great cd!
  • 20 years old now, huh?
I’m going to start by confessing that I barely had my first listen a month ago and have only listened to it a total of three times. But trust me when I say I can distinguished an average album from an outstanding one. This, of course, is an outstanding one. Right from my very first listen, this album skyrocketed into my sphere of all-time favorite. This album stands tall among the 90’s best. It stacks up high next to “OK Computer” and “Nevermind”. And when talking about the best debut albums, it holds just as much accolade. But what makes it so special? Charm. Charm is something many albums seemed to lack in it’s period and that time’s smog of grunge and over-seriousness. These songs aren’t metaphors for drug use or sour relationships. They talk about being comfortable, playing D&D in your garage, and saying to hell with the traffic of life, just ride the waves. It has off vocal phrasing, cheesy lyrics, and just look at that cover. Just look at it. But these things serve to bring a smile upon your face, bring out the nonconformity to it’s contemporaries, what made the music so special. The most impressive thing about this masterpiece is it’s complete lack of filler. There are very few albums that I have listened to where I can honestly say that each piece is just as good as the whole. But this one’s different. Every song on here is absolutely incredible. If I were to review each separate track, they would all get five stars, expect for “Undone — The Sweater Song” and “Only In Dream” for which I might reserve six stars. But reviewing each song would eliminate a key aspect of the product, this is a whole album. What I can say is that these jigsaws fit to make a beautiful picture. Each song flows into the other perfectly. When re-listening to this for it’s 20th anniversary (and I’ll admit, I wasn’t even around for it’s first release), I realized just how important this was to music. It was released just three weeks after the death of Kurt Cobain and it shifted gears for the direction of musical tones in the industry. But beyond that, I was just blown away by how great an album can be. To me, this is the “Doolittle”, “Ziggy Stardust”, or “Velvet Underground & Nico” of the 90’s: an album that strays away from the successful routines of its peers and manages to lives its own ways, different and eventually remembered as legendary. I haven’t been this blown away by a group and record since The Band’s “Music From Big Pink”. And then I heard their sophomore effort “Pinkerton” is even better. Screw waiting another two years to celebrate that one’s 20 years, I’m getting it as soon as I get a spare $10.
  • Prime Choice was new and unopened
The album is amazing, a classic. I bought the Prime Choice listing of this album, and assumed it must be used for the price, but it was sealed, brand new. My only complaint is that the listing said “order in the next three hours and get it tomorrow,” which was a complete lie. It was sent it from one Amazon facility to another by USPS and took four days to arrive. Prime is becoming a bait and switch.
  • Great version of this album
It’s Weezer’s eponymous blue album which is a perfect album for vinyl since there’s not a single skippable track. The sound is great. Each instrument comes through as if Weezer’s performing in the living room. The biggest change from the original vinyl release is the tracklist. Surf Wax America has been moved from the first track on side 2 to the last track on side 1, so now you have six tracks on side 1 and two on side two. The first time I listened, I got ready to flip the record after Undone, then Surf Wax America came blasting through. It’s perfect though, because the four cuts on side 2 take on a much more unified feel than when Surf Wax was on side 2. Also, it balances the side length better. I actually like the track listing better flipping the disc after Surf Wax. Overall, an excellent pressing of a great album.
  • Damaged even though I bought new

  • Amazing quality vinyl
An excellent quality album from a great band. Two disc sleeves, both of which have art on them, and they are wonderful. Sound quality was excellent and so was the packaging it came in
  • Arctic Monkeys creates music that helps you relax and makes you feel romantic, sensual with your girlfriend or wife
Arctic Monkeys CD AM is by far a style of music that makes you feel like groving on the dance floor or relaxing inside your house or for meditation after a long day at work or stressful day in general. I did notice while listening to the CD that eight songs were in the three to four minute range, one song was roughly about two and half minutes long, while the other three songs were in the four to five minute range. Now I will take it song by song for those out in the world who like to know what they are getting into. Do I wanna Know? is a great opener with a soft sensual voice that makes you want to make out with your girlfriend or wife while also having a good beat to the lyrics. R U Mine? Is an another good song featuring great lryics that makes you want to get on dance floor and groove to the beats. One for the Road a song with lryics that makes you want to hit on a lady while at the club or bar and ask her if she would like a free drink before heading out on the road. AraBella is a song with good guitar riffs mixed with the singers amazing vocals. I want it All is a song with lyrics wise exactly how most of the humans feel about “wanting it all.” NO. 1 Party Anthem is a slower song featuring lyrics that make you feel like slow dancing with the love of your life. Mad Sounds another slow song that you just feel like relaxing or meditation as you listen to it. Fireside good song with killer beat and good lyrics about hiding secrets and what it cost you because sometimes it feels like your losing the fight. Why’d you only call me when you’re High? Funny song title with even funnier lyrics because we all know someone in our lives that fits this song and it’s lyrics. Snap Out of It is a song about falling in love and your buddy wanting to shake you out of it and by doing so “snap out of it.” Knee Socks is another good beat song about a common item everyone wears around the house listen to lyrics might even laugh some like I did at particular lines in the song. I wanna be Yours is the last song on the album and is a good closing song because in our lives we all have someone we desire to be theirs at some point in our lives. In closing I can honesty say this is one of the better CD’s I have heard in a long time and one of best in my collection of music CD’s.
  • Good quality
Album was in the sleeve. Yay?I guess I’m supposed to review the band, but…weird.
  • Wondering if you’ll like this album before you buy???
This album– wow. I had never even heard of the Monkeys until about a week before i bought this, and boy they do not dissapoint…Let me try to give you a feel for if you’ll enjoy the album by explaining my musical tastes…. I’m very into classic rock. I’m a musician, and i like the complexity of that style. As a result i’m not so much into the newer punk and even indie rock. It’s okay but i guess to listen to the songs more than a few times i cant help but become a little bored by the the exact same predictable 4 four chords and all the instrumentation is 8th note power chords on a cheap electric guitar. For an entire album.I LISTEN TO THESE SONGS OVER AND OVER. The Arctic Monkeys do NOT bore me. This album does NOT have the short shelflife of a couple hits on the radio nowadays. Nearly every single song on this album is fantastic, instead of the four “okay” songs at the beginning and then filler for the rest of the album. This album is filled with meat, and you definitely get your money’s worth. Now the musical style, it definitely has taken a big step away from the more ’00’s sounding punk of their first two albums, so if that is your style you may not like the album as much. People have said this album takes a lot of influence from R and B. If you’re worried about it being onef those sort-of-rock-songs with someone rapping over it, don’t be alarmed. I, on a personal note, do not really like rap or hip hop at all (i know, born in the wrong generation), and i ADORED the musical style of this album. it was more a fusion of the Black Keys than of rap though. More blues than hip hop. if you like the Keys i think you’ll like this. I love the blues and I loved the style of this album.Overall, incredible album! Blah, blah, faith in my generations music restored…. all that stuffFAVORITE SONGS: Arabella! R u mine! no 1 party anthem!THANKS LOVES ;D
  • On Vinyl, sounds fantastic!
Commenting on the vinyl itself, sounds fantastic! Drums, bass, guitars, Alex’s vocals, all sound nicely spaced out and clear, not clustered like some other “rock” records. One of the best sounding vinyls I own for sure. A+++++++++
  • The music is great- the vinyl is a bit…
Edited 4/2024:Got a much better vinyl playing setup and although it didn’t come in the best condition, it does play better on more expensive equipment, still not a 5 star but much less skipping.Obviously it’s pre-2015 Arctic Monkeys so the music is great, if you can play songs without skips and pops. The vinyl came in the gatefold, that was in good condition, the sleeve was in poor shape so I immediately worried it might be a warped vinyl or scratched – pop it on my player and it skipped a fair bit, pulled out my cleaning kit, cleaned the player and the vinyl…issue persisted. I’ll buy another one from an indie shop that’ll play the songs to check for me because skipping vinyls online is becoming far too common when vinyl is increasing in popularity again.
  • Really cool set
This album came with the vinyl, a conservative case, and a sheet with all of the lyrics for All the songs on this album. This vinyl sounds nice, and is super pretty! It’s amazing for the price! I suggest you buy this if you like Arctic Monkeys and have a vinyl record player or a vinyl themed area!!<33

  • Good Stuff
    Thx
  • Their best and sounds amazing on vinyl
I first heard the entire side A of the album in a boutique coffee shop in Nakano, Tokyo, Japan a year ago. Although, I had previously heard one song before on the radio, the album being played in the shop happened to be on vinyl. I was so impressed with not only the songs but with the sound quality of the album that shortly after I returned from Japan I bought the record
  • Classic!!
This album is a must have for any music collection. Arrived in perfect condition.
  • A masterpiece
Not much else to say. Absolutely brilliant.
  • so good
I love this album.Maybe you will, maybe you won’t… I guess it depends on what you want your listening experience to be.Its all about what you want out of an album. You pry won’t be dancing much to this one. This album is beautiful, there really is no argument there, its gorgeous and pure.Much of the lyrics on the album are undecipherable. Bon Ivers voice is really the main instrument hereand if you’ve missed that, you have missed the point. The point is atmosphere and soul, at least thats what I feel. Its a really nice addition to anyones record collection, and if you have a record player, get it on vinyl, you wontregret it.Bon Iver is like a fine wine, he only gets better with age.To the haters that gave it one star, my guess is you’d rather listen to Dave Mathews Band or Jack Johnson.
  • I love it
It was a gift for a friend and she loved it. It came in perfect state and a day before it was supposed too, also the cover and vinyl are so pretty. It has good listening quality and it looks good if you want to hang it in your wall too.
  • So great!
Love this album. Such wonderful music!
  • Not the highest quality pressing
I’ve had the same issues with the vinyl pressing as many other reviews, so I’m adding my two cents just so others will know that quality control is not an isolated issue. The record is slightly warped, the center hole is not properly cut (or maybe it’s just the sticker getting in the way?), and there are some small sound issues. If you’re able to get past that, it’s still the same lovely album it’s always been.
