I bought this kit without any embroidering experience and it’s been easy to learn! The kit comes with all the necessary tools. There’s also a manual that gives pretty good tips and also has all of the basic stitches for reference in the back. I bought the flower kit and the colors and designs are so pretty!I was confused about what to do with the short end of the thread and had to watch an additional video to learn that it just kind of exists and there’s no need to knot it anywhere. Other than that the manual was easy to follow for me.

Great kit! What is extremely helpful is to follow along with the YouTube video that goes with the kit. Everything you need to get started. It’s fairly easy and fun.

The voice in the videos was sometimes choppy and didn’t given clear verbal instructions but you can look it up on YouTube and see for yourself before you buy. As long as you can follow along visually, you’ll be good! It was also sometimes hard to tell which color to use for each part because not all of the diagram was labeled with the color of embroidery floss to use.

I honestly love this kit and would highly recommend it to beginners. I love crafts and so I wanted to try embroidery but was intimidated until I got this kit. This is so doable for beginners!

This cute little kit really has everything you need to start embroidering right out of the box. The instructional booklet is high quality and detailed. The videos that the QR code sends you too are subtitled in English and helpful. I think anyone who is remotely interested in learning how to embroider would enjoy this.Cheers!

I’m really enjoying this embroidery kit. The video instructions are easy to find and us on YouTube. Everything came as described. The only suggestion I would offer to the makers is that I would appreciate explanations of why stitches are done certain ways (i.e. the short and long stitch), and when and how to decide to use stitches.

Did not receive everything that was supposed to be in the kit! It did not have scissors or the medal needle threader. The kit itself is pretty neat and great explanation videos. I would have given it 5 stars if it had everything!

Not for first timers. Recommend looking online for video of stitches. This one didn’t have videos for all stitches or were not as thorough as other videos on YouTube. I didn’t do the numbers at the top seemed silly to hang on wall with the numbers at the top

I sewed for years but never learned the embroidery stiches I so admired. These simple pieces are for beginners…you don’t need any experience….and this came with all the supplies needed. The colors were spot on, and the instructions were very clear. I am finishing them up for holiday gifts because they’re a handmade treasure and just lovely.

I love this kit. I have a hard time visualizing stitches from written descriptions. The QR codes next to each written stitch description are extremely helpful – they take you to short how to videos showing each stitch. I’ve learned a lot in only 3 days of casual working on it. This kit will be a great reference for all future kits. I will be buying more from this specific brand!

I’m a lifelong cross stitcher, and I’m just getting into embroidery. I felt like this sampler would be helpful in learning the stitches. It is, but with some limitations. The numbers printed on the fabric don’t make any sense and don’t match up with what the instructional video shows. I was so confused and had to watch multiple videos to finally get the outline stitch. It remains to be seen how I fare with all the rest.

Great quality! Loved that I didn’t have to do the tracing for the stitches and it was all pre-printed on the fabric!

I am of mixed minds of the material. It is canvas and I would have preferred cotton material, mainly Egyptian with Sateen weave. Actually cost me less than buying at the fabric store.The instruction could have been better buy you could get online and get more info. Unfortunately, I have a hard time figuring some things out, so just decided to follow the direction in the booklet. It make it clear what to do.It will help me a lot to get the designs I had learned from my mom years ago and forgot them. We lost her 40 years ago.I still miss her, still sometimes cry (69 and still cry for my mom).Anyhow I would suggest that someone who wants to learn the basic in embroidery this would be a good book to get.

I was excited to teach myself embroidery and this kit was absolutely perfect. It came with everything I needed to get started. I got 2 needles, scissors, all the embroidery thread colors on a cool little cardboard card with holes to keep threads separated and organized, plus hoop and then 3 different patterns to follow. Each pattern has both a picture and guide to teach you the stitches PLUS QR code to YouTube videos also showing and teaching stitches. I am a VERY satisfied customer!

Very lovely, but I don’t think this is for a beginner. As soon as I saw French Knots I knew I was in over my head! But if you like embroidery and have a knack for it, by all means go for it.

Very cute kit, easy to read and comes with everything you need to do all of the stitches and then some. Nice quality thread and lots of needle sizes to choose from. The videos are more helpful then the instructions on the back of the directions in some cases. The threader that is included did break pretty quick so maybe purchase some extras.

For beginners, this is a good starter pack. Ive never embroidered and bought this to pursue the hobby. HOWEVER, none of the eyes of the needles provided are big enough for a 6 strand floss(thread). I broke the needle threader trying to force the thread into a needle eye (and i tried 3 different needles). After researching, theres a specific needle called the chenille needle (size 22) that has a bigger eye, suitable for 6strands. This pack brings needles size 1-9 milliners. A chenille needle is definitely needed at least for the 1st EASY level of this pack. Im moving on to the 3 strand parts until I go buy a chenille needle to continue with this pack.

I’m new to embroidery and this kit was a dream to work on. The instructions were useful and that there is a QR code to take you to online video instructions is the best add-on feature. This kit would be a value at twice the price. I’m thoroughly happy with the product, and the experience in brought me in completing it. I highly recommend this for anyone interested in taking up embroidery.

My wife wanted to learn embroidery so she got this set to begin. The levels of stitching are pretty straight-forward, however some of the included instructions/videos are a little confusing, but easily supplemented with any of the plentiful free resources out there. The included supplies are all of a good quality, and there is plenty to utilize.

This was my first ever embroidery project; I knew absolutely nothing going in. I’m not sure it’s the best thing for a first project (try searching “embroidery cards” instead, and get yourself either a book on embroidery for beginners, or someone who can answer questions as you go). I honestly don’t know if I could have completed the kit without the help I got from a friend.While I learned a lot, it definitely leaves a lot to be desired; the instructions aren’t very clear or easy to understand, and having that missing information would have helped, a lot.For example, it comes with a piece of cardstock that’s full of holes. The instructions don’t mention it (and there’s no materials list), not what it is or what it’s for. Turns out it’s for organizing your floss, and keeping it from getting all tangled — information that would have saved me a lot of time and headache, but I never would have figured out on my own (a friend had to explain it to me).And, it doesn’t say anywhere how much floss you should use for each stitch or part of the pattern (like, how long a piece you need). This is a real problem, as you only get so much of each color to use across all six of the patterns. I used the majority of a couple colors doing just the first pattern, and a couple more doing the next couple patterns, so I ended up having to use extra floss (that didn’t come with the kit) to complete the other patterns, which meant I had to get creative instead of following the instructions exactly.I also had to look up videos on YouTube to figure out some of the stitches, because the included pictures weren’t clear enough; they lack the written instructions alongside the pictures that actually explain what to do. Like, for one of the stitches, you need to complete the next movement of the needle before pulling your floss through (if that makes sense), or it wont work — and, worse, it’ll put a knot in your floss and screw up what you’re doing — but it doesn’t actually say that anywhere. The pictures are also incredibly hard to see; they use patterns drawn in grey, so the [silver] needle in the pictures is hard to see against the patterns, and they often jump to the next move without explaining how to get there. There’s a lot of trial and error involved, which could easily be avoided with a little more instruction.I started with the “Easy” pattern (of course), and it does have a QR code that takes you to a YouTube video… but the video it links to is of the “Normal” pattern. So the video instructions don’t match the patterns, making them kind of useless.I ended up using the kit just for practice, instead of seeing it as my first project, and not necessarily doing it as instructed to get the most out of it. For example, embroidery floss is made up of six strings that can be divided, and the instructions say to use all six for most things on the pattern, but I quickly realized it’s much easier (and comes out much better, more legible) to use just two or three (which I learned is actually the norm in embroidery).All-in-all, this kit is missing some essentials, but does teach you quite a bit. Again, if you had a book on embroidery for beginners, and / or someone you can talk to when you have questions, you’d do a lot better than if you just had this kit.It is a pretty great value for the price. Just know you might get frustrated with it, and possibly need to supplement some of your materials. If you haven’t embroidered in twenty years and want to refresh your knowledge and skills, this kit is perfect; if you’re just starting out, you might need some help.

The kit has everything I needed to begin learning how to make each stitch. The instructions are very clear, and each canvas is well marked. I recommend this kit to anyone looking to learn how to embroider.

It is amazing! I just started but I studied everything first to get a sense of what I might learn. This kit is very comprehensive! I shall be pretty darn embroidery savvy when I am finished!

UPDATE: since the writing of my original review, CSRP Handiwork was kind enough to send me a few kits with updated revised materials, and I’ve since completed the Highland Cow punch needle kit. The contents, packaged in a nice box, are improved as follows: finer, easier to use yarn with appropriate colors, thinner & longer punch needle – love it, better fabric, better scissors … I also checked out the online video, even though audio free, it provided great examples of different stitch techniques to get certain design looks. I’ve also previously watched a few short online utube videos as well. I will note that with the Highland Cow, while I had enough yarn to finish the project, I had to be careful with the lighter brown color & not waste it; may be partly my fault because I did some extra layers of stitching in a few places. I’m very happy with these newly revised kits from CSRP, I appreciate their customer service, & will definitely purchase these fun, cute, & relaxing kits again. I’ve included a few photos to show the colors of the yarns in different lighting.Why did you pick this product vs others?:Sooo … I’m glad this Wolf needle punch kit was not my first kit to try (it was my 2nd); this kit left me frustrated. I’ve worked with many various types of yarns before while knitting, etc., & I believe the included yarn in this kit may be the lowest quality yarn I’ve ever used; it tended to split & came apart too easily. Also, not enough yarn was included for one of the colors. One of the colors included was the wrong color: instead of a golden brown, yellow was included. The yarn was too thick for the project; I couldn’t get the detail as needed (& as pictured online). The yarn was too thick for the needle punch tool, but useable. After spending too much for this kit for what I received, I definitely did not want to go buy my own yarn. The fabric was of low quality, & also not as pictured online. The included scissors would not cut the yarn; I threw that away. The threading tool came apart, but I repaired with my own tape. Luckily, I had already watched punch needle videos on utube, so I was able to make this project work with extra effort. I wanted to do some silk stitches, but they mostly came out when I tried it, & I had to be careful because the punch needle left oversized holes in the fabric, so I needed to get the stitches right the first time as much as possible. The included hoop is a good hoop. I used the plastic needle to drawstring stitch the fabric behind the hoop. I received this item quickly.

The design is super cute! I also love the colors of the yarn in this kit. The yarn itself kept fraying/unraveling when I was threading the punch needle and even while punching the design. It felt like the materials were a bit cheap, but overall it’s a fun project!

Unfortunately, I suffer from an over inflated ego, which makes me see a craft and immediately think “Pfft, I can do that..” lucky for me (and my bank account) that this is, in fact, a craft that I CAN do! Like the other reviews said, the instructions aren’t the most crystal clear, but after a 2 second YouTube video, I was basically an expert.As pictured- I didn’t run out of any yarn, some colors I definitely came close, but I didn’t need to buy any more yarn or anything (this project would’ve never gotten done if I did), I digress. I started this project at the respectable hour of midnight, and finished just around 3:30 AM (… and after admiring my work for 20 minutes, here I am, writing a review). The yarn was surprisingly nice to the touch, it wasn’t scratchy like I thought it would be. I immediately broke the yarn threader though, but then again, it’s literally a wire held together by the equivalent of dollar store tape. Once the tape is off.. you can still use it, so, did I even break it? ANYWAY! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this project and I’m very happy with the end result, I’ll definitely be buying more in the future.

I ordered this kit as I wanted to try a new project. The video instructions were clear and easy to follow, however the supplies received do not perform the way the video shows they should. The yarn is too thick for the punch needle. Every time I punched the yarn through, it would come out on the next punch. The yarn does not move through the needle at all. I tried to manually hold the yarn in the back when I pulled the needle through, but that frayed the yarn and really didn’t work well either, and frankly, it is not the way this is supposed to work at all. I think with either a different needle or thinner, smoother yarn, this could be a very cute project. Unfortunately I bought both the highland cow and the sloth and both have the same issue.

Nice looking and easy to do for beginners. Everything you need to do the project is in the kit. Price was a bit high but still comparable to anywhere else.

I really enjoy doing these samplers. I embroider for my own enjoyment. I find it relaxing and it keeps my mind off of things I don’t want to think about. Sometimes I do different stitches than the sampler indicates, because I just don’t like how some of the stitches look, or I have trouble doing them The floss is okay, not the best quality, but good for my needs. The hoop , needle threader, scissors, and needles that are included are good, too.

This was great for beginners and has a fantastic set of video tutorials to help you learn. Great for beginners!

This is a very good kit! I am just starting back to embroidery after years of other hobbies and this kit has everything I need to get started! There’s very clear instructions and even videos if you need them! The designs are printed on the fabric already with instructions that I do not need to wash them.

The materials feel good quality, and the colors are vibrant, which makes the designs stand out beautifully once stitched. Instead, I had to look up videos to learn them. I have wanted to learn how to embroider for a while now but refuse to pay $40+ for a kit.This kit does EVERYTHING the same ones I see on IG do and I feel like the designs are just as cute!Will be seeing if I can order more to learn more stitches and patterns. Very nice kit but didn’t come with the manual. I am very new at this and the manual was a very important part for me. Bummed.

The item did not come with a tutorial, I had to look it up. In you tube. The book pages have to be cut apart from the cover and they have to be cut apart from each other.

There was no tutorial or information about how to access it and the pages need to be cut apart because the stitch patterns are printed back to back. Not happy with this purchase

Literally zero step by step instructions. Basically just a fabric book someone printed ink on. Useless. Scam. Like someone else said you would have to cut it all out

Pages are 3×6 inches. They are double so you have to cut them in order to stitch. There are no instructions and the print is barely legible.

I didn’t order Pink, I ordered Beige. I received the beige. I was unsure if the color would be the beige I was hoping for. It is! I’m happy with my purchase. I love its stiffness. It’s easier for me to work with their 25ct. The price is reasonable. I’ve made 2 orders with this company and there hasn’t been any disappointment yet.

First time with pre-gridded fabric, a breeze to work with:)

The Aida cloth is wonderful. It is soft enough to be pliable yet form enough to hold the floss without stretching. And the light green color is lovely.

It is very stiff at first and I was difficult to keep it from folding while I was trying to get it in my hoop. I had to wash it and then air dry. Be careful of it fraying in the wash! Still, it held up great. I, unfortunately, didn’t understand how small 14 count is and had to put it away to give to someone who can see that more easily.

Exactly as described. 18 count, one solid piece of fabric, soft with some starching to help keep stiff. I’m very happy with the quality and size of this. It’s pretty easy to sew with.

I had trouble finding good cloth locally so I tried ordering. It is great quality. The sizes are accurate. The white and off-white are perfect.
