    This mini heat press is less expensive than the name brand yet similar in functionality and look. It also has the same 3 level settings so when making projects with iron on vinyl, you can match the recommened settings. While I’ve used the mini heat press several times and it works as intended, I have defaulted to using my Rowenta iron as it’s simply heavier and excellent quality. Perhaps the mini is still nice to have for smaller projects or when you need something portable.

    I like the features of this press. I screen print and DTF. It allows you to switch between two time/temp settings for projects. I love that it automatically raises when the time is up. I don’t have to babysit it. If the light flashes and it beeps, the tray isn’t pushed in all the way. I haven’t had any trouble uneven heating. Only thing that I don’t like is that it doesn’t swing away so you have to be careful when placing clothing on the mat so that you don’t burn your fingers.

    Update March 2024:This press is still going strong and I still like it very much! I have been able to press DTF (by placing an extra pad on the tray, to trick the machine into using more pressure). I have done sublimation slates with success. I have pressed puff vinyl, but I don’t think the results were great and the vinyl started peeling after a few wears. That’s been my one failure. But the press works great for regular HTV and for sublimation. I really like the small footprint of this press. I still feel it would be better if the press was redesigned to have greater clearance and to have a longer timer (pressing something like sublimation slates requires repeated pressing of the button, since one is limited to 99 seconds). A pressure adjustment option and a silicone pressing mat would make this press much nicer. Other than those things, it’s a good press and is great for a casual crafter.2nd Update Jan 2023:The re-designed pressing pad is still developing ridges with use. I prefer the silicone pressing pad I purchased separately. HTVRONT would be better served by just including a silicone pressing pad – so much better! Note that the silicone pads you can buy are square and so you have to trim the corners to be rounded, to match the autopress surface (otherwise, the edges would curl up and make an uneven surface). It’s not easy to trim and make it look nice. But I would still rather have ragged corners than a ridged surface.Update Jan 2023:HTVRONT reached out to me to explain that the cracking noises were just expansion and contraction of a piece inside of the press and it was not a defect. They said the cracking noises would abate with use. And they did! No more weird noises…yay! They also said they re-designed the pressing pad and sent me a new one. I haven’t used it enough to make any judgement on the new pad, but I will update this review after I have used it for awhile. I have increased my star rating to reflect the good customer service, the noises being gone, and the receipt of a new pressing pad.Update Dec 2022: I received a replacement press and at first, it wasn’t making any noises on heating up and I was really happy. But unfortunately, on about the third use, this one also started making cracking noises as it heats up. Sigh. This one isn’t quite as loud as it cracks, so I guess it’s better. but what the heck?Original review:So I really like this heat press. It’s working fine, but it does make very loud cracking noises as it is warming up. It has concerned me enough that I have ordered a replacement. I’m hoping I just got a lemon, and the new one won’t have this issue. If I have more problems, I’ll be updating my review.Other than that, this is functioning nicely for me. I was previously using an easy press, but I was finding that my back was hurting from having to lean over my project. Having a heat press is saving my back. I know others say that it is easier than having a clamshell press, as it saves the shoulders and arms too. Some have complained about trying to press a sweatshirt, because of the bulk of a hood getting in the way of pressing the tray in fully. But I have been using my press from the side so that a sweatshirt hood just falls off to the side. I find it easier. And it fits better on my table sideways.It has been working well for both vinyl and sublimation. I did not have luck with DTF film, but I have since read a tip that said putting another mat on top of the included mat tricks the machine into thinking your project is thicker, and thus the machine will use more pressure. I’m going to try that with DTF to see if it helps.Things that I really like about the press are:1. Lightweight (relative to most heat presses)2. Beautiful color (I got the mint)3. Small size, compared to a clamshell or swing-away press4. Automatic features save your body from stress5. Larger heat plate size than an easy press, and suitable for most of my projects6. Convenient slide-out tray7. Relatively quick warm-up time8. Quiet operation, once it is warmed up9. Safety auto shut off (can be a bit annoying however)10. Blinking light when turned off prompts me to unplug the press, which I think is safer (can be annoying if you don’t want to unplug between uses. But I do).11. A whole lot cheaper than a Cricut auto press.I do think there are some design issues that could be better, but I have been able to work around them, so they are not big issues for me:1. As others have also stated, the clearance between the top plate and the bottom plate is meager. There’s very little room to work. The slide-out tray helps, but the slide-out tray only comes out so far. There’s still a section where you have to fiddle with getting t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. to slip into the opening.2. There’s no pressure adjustment, but for most projects, the auto-sensing for pressure works fine. And now that I have the hack (listed above), I’m hoping I won’t have any problems. Still…having the ability to set light, medium, and firm pressures would be a nice upgrade.3. And lastly, the pressing pad isn’t great. I have included a pic showing how, after only about 20 uses, my pad is all ridged and lumpy. I have ordered another silicone pad that I will either use in place of, or add on top of the existing heat pad. A better pad would have been appreciated.

    Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY this machine….I’ve been a loyal Cricut customer for years, but after my ongoing experience with the EasyPress 3, I’m done.I own two different EasyPress 3 units for my business and both have had to be replaced over FIVE times, each in under a year of having them. It’s the same issue every time: error messages, won’t heat up at all, totally useless. This isn’t a one-off defect or bad luck, It’s clearly a serious, ongoing quality issue with this model. The only reason I’ve kept replacing them is because the compact size for my small space, but if you have the room, seriously — get something else. This is an overpriced, faulty product that will waste your time and money.And speaking of wasting time… Cricut’s customer service makes the whole situation even worse. Every replacement is a long, frustrating process of endless questions, photos, emails, and troubleshooting knowing full well the machine needs a replacement. Now they’ve refused to replace my latest broken press (which is only 8 months old!) because they go by the date of my original purchase — even though that press has already been replaced TWICE within the year.Cricut used to be my go-to brand, but after this endless cycle of broken machines and frustrating support, I’m done. Learn from my mistake and save yourself the headache.

    I bought this ink to use with freezer paper stencils cut with my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine. I used it to make a shirt for my son’s first birthday, white on navy blue. The white stayed bright and strong with only one coat! Very happy with the consistency and appearance of this ink on my dark shirt! I used a sponge brush to apply the ink with the stencil. Sometimes it felt like I was using a lot of ink, but it was likely because the sponge soaked it all up. Plus, I wanted the white to be good and heavy, so I didn’t skimp.I should mention that I also purchased the black ink and it was actually the first of the two that I used. I’m pretty sure I read reviews that said to use gloves, but I forgot. The seal under the lid was very hard to get off, even with the tab that was there for that purpose. My thumb and fingers ended up covered in the ink after wrestling the seal off the container. Because it was black, it was easy to see the ink everywhere it ended up, on my body and work surfaces. I also wasn’t as pleased with my final result with the black ink project I did but it was almost surely my fault because I was afraid to use too much so I probably didn’t apply a heavy enough coat. I also used a cheap boys white undershirt that stretched a bunch and cracked the design before I could heat set it. I used gloves with the white ink and the seal on the white ink container came off with the tab the way it was supposed to.My experience was great! But it left me curious. I’ve done screen printing a few times (took a class in college for my graphic design curriculum) and I feel like using a screen vs the freezer paper would be a more economical use of this ink. It worked great for this project and probably for others I will do in the future, but it left me aching for the screen printing method and experience. In fact, I’ve looked at the screens and other products available through Speedball and I might be persuaded to shift my focus to using screens instead of freezer paper.

    The plates themselves are good, I wanted to comment on how they were stored or packed or shipped; I ordered the 8 x 10 & 5 x 7 together and they were pressed together in such a way that the small one created a permanent indentation in the larger one. Not good. I don’t have enough experience to be able to tell if it’s affecting its performance, but they require care and they’re not cheap. Not sure at which stage the problem was caused, and so I’m not sure if it can be remedied at such a high volume company (Amazon). Gel printing itself is so much fun (but has a learning curve for sure)

    I purchased 3 gelli plates off TEMU, and I almost gave up trying this art style .. aarrghh so frustrating! But I joined a Patreon instructon gelli pull membership by “Lieve Ericx” she’s really knowledgeable about gelli pulls , and is very communicative with her members. When I mentioned my frustration, she suggested I get rid of the Temu plates and buy one of these. OMG ! The difference is day and night! The Temu plates were too sticky and paper always tore.This plate works fantastic ! I’m So thankful for Lieve’s knowledge, I was ready to quit!     Disappointed that the sides are slightly shy of 8 inches or 10 inches. I need 8″x9″ exactly and didn’t want to spend the money for a bigger gel plate. However this gel plate works as it is expected too and I saved money on this one over other brands. Just be aware if you are looking for a full 8 or 10 inches this may be not be the one for you.

    I bought this ink to use with freezer paper stencils cut with my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine. I used it to make a shirt for my son’s first birthday, white on navy blue. The white stayed bright and strong with only one coat! Very happy with the consistency and appearance of this ink on my dark shirt! I used a sponge brush to apply the ink with the stencil. Sometimes it felt like I was using a lot of ink, but it was likely because the sponge soaked it all up. Plus, I wanted the white to be good and heavy, so I didn’t skimp.I should mention that I also purchased the black ink and it was actually the first of the two that I used.     Paint arrived sealed but when it opened it, it was more solid than past ones I’ve bought. I contacted the company which had great customer service. They said to stir in a teaspoon of water and that the batch number was fine. I’m pleased the company keeps track of their stock and my paint flows better on the screen now.

  • They Sublimate Beautifully even for My First Time Sublimating Tumblers!
    I am new to sublimation and this is my first time trying to sublimate tumblers. These tumblers are great! Since I am new to this process I went on YouTube and followed a few videos and really didn’t follow the sellers information. One of the reasons is because I am using a Cricut Mug Press and not an oven. The tumblers of course are taller than the Cricut Mug Press so I had to adapt. Also, there isn’t anyway to know the temperature of the mug press so I had to take the information from one of the videos.The tumblers came out great and I am very happy with the way they look. My camera doesn’t do them justice. The following is the process I used:- I wrapped the sublimation paper very tight around the tumbler. I took the heat resistant tape and taped around the tumbler many times until I was satisfied the paper was not going to shift. To make sure I didn’t get a line where the paper edges meet, I cut the edges into a wave like pattern and when I overlapped the edges you can’t see any lines in the finished product.- I then covered every part of the tumbler with parchment paper (you can use butcher paper but I didn’t have it) and taped the crap out of that. I made sure to cover the open top and the bottom with parchment paper because of the metal.- I placed the tumbler in the provided shrink wrap and used a inexpensive hair dryer to shrink wrap the tumbler. nI have a heat gun but thought that may burn holes in the wrap and the hair dryer worked great.- I wrapped a silicone sheet around the bottom half and placed it in the Cricut Mug Press for 4 minutes. Then I turned the tumbler 180 degrees and put it back in the press for another 4 minutes. After the 8 minutes was done, I flipped the tumbler over and put the top in the silicone and pressed it for 2 minutes. When the first 2 minutes I was done I turned the tumbler 180 degrees and pressed it for another 2 minutes. The tumblers look great!The tumbler covers fit securely and nothing leaks even when I held it upside down or put it on its side. It retains ice or hot for a good part of the day and seems to hold both hot and cold temperatures as long as my Yeti does. I like that they come with the pad for the bottom and with metal straws. I didn’t use the sublimation paper that came with it as I use A-Sub paper which I like. I bought a few tumblers from a large craft store but by the time I got the tumblers home, one had started to peel. I returned all of them.I highly recommend this brand and once I am done sublimating all 8, I will buy more. They will make great gifts!

    UGH THESE ARE SO GOOD. they sublimate SO well and have so many extras included like the rubber bottoms, straws, and boxes with ribbon. These also seem like really good quality, they aren’t super thin and seem well made, but also are CONSISTENT with the outcomes. Bulk buying these isn’t necessarily cheap but when you look at the individual cost per tumbler it absolutely levels out, especially if you are selling finished products for profit. I highly highly recommend these and will absolutely repurchase as needed.

    These are one of my favorite brands of tumblers to sublimate. It hits all of the items on my checklist when it comes to quality: Fit, Seal, and Insulation. Reports back have been that people come back some hours later and there are still ice cubes inside and their drink is still cold. They report that their hot drinks remain hot and warm for a long period of time.

    So, I don’t use these for sublimation, I use them for resin. Because of this they work perfectly for me!One side has a nice shiny coat to it, the other side is raw clay. When I make my ornaments I pour resin on the raw side so it will adhere to the ornament. If you put the resin on the shiny side it doesn’t coat it correctly. Once the ornament is done it looks beautiful with the resin on one side and the nice shiny side on the back. You can also use a paint marker on the shiny side to personalize it.Even with the resin they aren’t too heavy for a Christmas tree. I’ve also dropped a few and they haven’t broken or cracked. They are packaged well, none of them were scratched or sticky when I received them.I’ve bought these 3 times now and I’m sure I’ll be purchasing more! I can’t keep them in stock!

The paper does stick making it look like the surface has come off in spots but a quick wipe with a damp wash cloth is all they need! See photos for example!
  • Don’t buy these if you plan to sublimate and sell
    I don’t know how these have such high rating. These are garbage. The front of the ornament has such a thin white coating that you can see the dark ceramic clay through the coating, making them look dirty and cheap. The backs EVERY SINGLE ONE have either pits, holes, bumps, the white coating dripped on the back and/or the clear coat dripped on the back. Making them look like a dirty messy cheap low quality ornament. Every single one has multiple problems. Also, when sublimating they have an odor that literally reminds me of the poison smell of roundup. While this style of ornament (Sublimation on one side and raw ceramic on the back) does sublimate fantastically, the mess on the front, back, sides, and the ‘see through’ coating on the front, the black spots and dots on the front and back, and sides make them total garbage. . These ornaments were costly compared to other one sided 3 inch ornaments, I expected them to be better quality. Not the same garbage and in most instances worse than the 60 cent (each) one sided 3 inch ornaments. I’m going to quote a few cons from another reviewer’s info, as that person broke it down well:The Pros:1. Ornaments were individually bubble wrapped (all ornaments come individually bubble wrapped).The Cons:1. Ornaments all had bubbles and raised spots on the front surfaces.2. The edges of the ornaments had black marks.3. The edges of the backs of the ornaments all had white or light areas, stained areas where whatever coating slashed messily on the back.4. The backs of the ornament sare raw gray, had splotches, light spots, dark spots, stains. They felt rough and had no finish on them at all.5. The back raw surface is totally unsuitable for viewing, much less writing a message on as suggested in the sales text.5. Ornaments had a chips, dips, bumps, on both front and back. The sides have cracked coating in splotches that have to be sanded off.6. The edges of the ornament sometimes had a coating on it but sometimes did not. Inconsistent application of coating.7. Ornaments were packed in the company’s box loose. Nothing protecting them from jumbling around during transit. Good luck if at least one isn’t broken, cracked, damaged.8. The white coating is so thin, you and literally see through it to the dark ceramic underneath, making these look dirty and interfering with the design if you’re not doing a full cover of dark sub ink over the entire ornament.I checked every single one of this set of 48 ornaments. I will NOT order from this company again. The terrible thing is that all the other ornaments are late, putting me in a bind where I actually have to use this garbage. I’ll be sanding the backs and sides all weekend long, trying to clean this trash up. Otherwise I would send these back for a full refund.

  • Wanted to like but…
    I wanted these to work but they do not sublimate well. I have a very good heat press and my sublimation paper adhered to one of the ornaments. I pressed two at the same time using a heat press that is automatic and one worked, the other didnt. So I can’t support a product that will not work 100% of the time – especially when being used in a project.
