Chenoa LakeAppears to be top quality.The bolt that came with the Alternator did not fit (1/2 inch too short); and the bolt from my previous alternator did not fit this alternator (wrong thread size); so I had to purchase a bolt that would fit; but otherwise the alternator works great and looks great, and after a month of user I recommend.

You are not alone, I never was either… Until now!!!This is your classic 3 wire Delco alternator. King of the 6 volt to 12 volt conversion kingdom. I’ve done this conversion many times and had mixed luck by going to the parts store and getting junk and going to online outlets and getting junk.I’m pleased to announce I have a one stop, NEXT DAY source of quality American made, American remanufactured alternators. Amazon Renewed – huh? You got that right!!! And NO, you don’t have to send in a core.This thing is actually better than some of the brand new alternators that I have bought. I was re-indexing the back to make it fit my application and accidentally opened it too far and the brushes popped out – not a problem at all but it gave me a chance to see the innards and they were clean and well tended. Quality inside and out.I’ve added pictures of the markings/stickers on the outside of the unit to prove this thing was not remanned anywhere but the good ol US of A. (By the way, in the pictures, knicks and dirt on the new unit came from ME. It was not getting the white glove treatment) The ol boys did a great job. Heck they even included an instruction manual – with pictures – and detailed how-to-do-an-alternator instructions. That alone is worth the price of a university text book, and it was in three languages. I’ll be dog-gone if they aren’t POLYGLOTS.Bottom line: Awesome unit and well worth the money.

S.K.HGreat Affordable 12volt Charging OptionI needed a simple alternator for a piece of farm equipment the requires a full 12 volts. The original alternator on the machine was obsolete an unaffordable when I found one finally. I decided instead to buy one of these alternators instead as the simplicity of an AC Delco alternator can’t be beat. So I bought this for my application and with one simple bracket modification it works flawlessly. It charges and works great even at low RPM. Price, quality, and dependability can’t be beat.

glenn moyerCheap for a reasonSo far I’ve ordered 3 of these first one worked but was insanely loud till a year later I found the bearings failed and were bad from the start the bearings failed on a n vehicle that dosent get a lot of mileage at most 1,500 miles a year as a rock crawler. Second one so far is much better was quiet and still is, 3rd didn’twork out of the box for a different vehicle. For a 33% chance so far I’ll probably still buy them price is rite and being amazing you can exchange. I probably wouldn’t use for a daily driver but would keep an extra as a spare. Have a friend who ordered the same alternator and has been working for a little over a year on another rock crawler. Probably should buy a better one but for toys I’ll just keep swapping cheapos. Updated review. Tried to do an exchange for the same part and sent a completely different alternator, so not only bum parts but incompetent too

PinoySo far so good, alternator seems well madeI’ve had pretty good luck with AC Delco parts. This alternator fit my 1981 Jeep CJ7 with 360 from a 1982 full size Jeep perfectly. Proper clocking, nice looking rebuilt alternator. Priced right, has new machined pulley, not stamped like old one. Fan fins were not bent, box was beat up but was packed with a lot of bubble wrap. Installed with no problem, started up vehicle and is charging at 14+ volts as expected. Cannot comment on longevity as I have been doing other repairs on the vehicle and have not run it much yet. I was hesitant to order as it had mixed reviews, but seems good. It was remanufactured in China which can be hit or miss

GonzoGOTTA MESS WITH IT TO WORKNEEDS WORK TO GET GOINGPut this in my project car, a 1981 Corvette. Fits perfect and came packaged well. Was way cheaper than what autozone and oreillys had to offer.The first one I installed charged the battery really well but whined a LOT. I was worried about the longevity of the alternator with it whining how it did, and I played around with the belt tension to no avail. A week later, it stopped charging, and I sent it in for a replacement. Get what you pay for I guess.Got the replacement, installed it properly, even wired a new ground, annnnnd it wasnt charging at ALL. I popped the case open and found that the main power stud was loose as hell, so I tightened that up and reassembled it, but still no charging. Eventually I had to look into “exciting” this alternator to get it to kick on, which did work. So far its charging well and this new unit runs very quiet. So im willing to give it a relatively good review.WILL POST AN UPDATE IF ANYTHING CHANGES.

BWorks great!Quiet unit. Has to be exited, not a one wire setup. Main wire to battery, higher wire goes back to the main post of the unit, the lower wire to a keyed hot. Started up my old ford tractor and it worked perfectly. Charges at about 14v on analog gauge. Only had it about a week, but so far so good.

Amazon CustomerZapI took mine in half to clock the rear housing ware I wanted it and it’s a full reman inside. Warranty void I’m sure. It held 12.5 volts at 65 amp load. FYI
