I picked up two 4-packs of these Govee smart bulbs during a sale to replace a set of aging LIFX bulbs I’ve been using since 2017. After eight years of syncing, grouping, and trying to get everything working just right with LIFX, I finally decided it wasn’t worth the extra cost for features I rarely used. One LIFX bulb had failed, and a couple others were getting flakey with connectivity. I wanted something simpler that still gave me color and scheduling — and Govee delivered.Setup was incredibly easy. These new bulbs were detected almost instantly when I plugged them in. A couple of taps in the app, and they were connected and even auto-integrated with Alexa. That’s a huge improvement from earlier smart bulb setups (even earlier Govee ones I own). I now have seven of the eight bulbs installed along with two Govee light strips, all grouped and running Halloween scenes on my patio. It’s been a solid setup so far.Compared to LIFX, the color control and brightness aren’t quite as dynamic. The LIFX strips, especially, had more nuanced transitions and stronger color saturation. But in practice, the difference just doesn’t matter much — especially when synced to music. After years of trying to get light/music syncing to be something magical, I’ve come to realize it’s more of a gimmick than a feature. Govee still delivers good color scenes and effects, and unless you’re obsessive about subtle hue shifts, you’ll be more than satisfied.I’ve used Govee products for at least five years now — four bulbs and two strips — and they’ve been very reliable. One older bulb has a minor issue where it doesn’t completely turn off and glows faintly like a nightlight. But after that much usage, I’m fine with that. It’s a minor flaw, and the overall track record is solid.These bulbs have made my smart lighting more manageable. They’re easier to set up than LIFX, play well with Alexa, and give me the features I use most without overcomplicating things. So far so good. A high-quality item and extremely easy to set up. I literally set up in my house and marked them for the garage lights outside, and within minutes, we were up and running! How easy all of it was. My house looks great, the light levels can be adjusted, and it’s incredibly easy to connect to Wi-Fi! Control from you phone with a press of a button.

Love using Govee products. I have picked them as my go to with mood and outside lighting in and outside my home. I’m using these bulbs to enhance my Halloween outside lights and decorations. They are as advertised. It’s easy to connect to the app and manipulate colors. Something convenient is the on/off timer in the application. I use it to start my lights when it’s dark and shut off at my regular bed time. They also come on early in the morning when I head to the gym and shut off shortly after I leave. I will keep these bulbs year round and change colors depending on the time of the year.

We love these lights. I’d eventually fill the entire house with Govee bulbs..working on it. They fit into our living room lamps perfectly. Great quality – solid build. Connects to the Govee app immediately and since we already had Govee items connected to Alexa, that was a breeze. There are dozens and dozens of lighting options. We love that. We control it through Govee (which gives us complete control) and through Alexa, which has trouble with “Color Scenes” (like Starry Sky or Forest) – but the common ones have no issues (“Alexa, set the living room lights to Nightlight”) works just fine. We didn’t have to program each one. But again, the unique ones don’t work (e.g., “I don’t know how to set Living Room Lamps to that setting.) Oh well, maybe we’ll find the ones we want and just program them individually. You can set all the options through the app directly. It’s just voice control that’s tricky.

You can change the module name at first point of recognition, or later in the software.You will need two schedules, one for on and one for off.Plug slightly larger than the standard plug width. Need a gap between the outlets to fit the smart plugin in. May need to create a quick account, but no subscriptions are needed.

I have installed several of these timers for holiday lights over the years. These were the easiest I have ever installed. I like that I can adjust the schedule on my phone and turn the lights on from anywhere. These work best for me with the GHome app. I decided I didn’t need to add it to my Google Home stuff. I have used Belkin remote outlets for years. They decided they were going to stop supporting them so I went with these. They are well built and do what I need them to do and they are an exceptional bargain.

Bottom line is, it does the job it was intended to do. My aging but still functional Levovo ThinkCentre SFF desktop computer has only Display Port ++ connections and my new Acer 27″ monitor has only HDMI (in addition to VGA). Problem solved! Cables shorter than 6 feet are hard to find and cable clutter is a big concern for me, so this one is perfect. Totally plug-and-play installation was a breeze. Price is about right for a specialty cable, IMO.

Had to hook up a set of monitors, the monitors come with cables but are dual HDMI and I needed DPI cables. These solved my issue, nice quality and short enough to not have huge amounts of cable hanging around.

Although it doesn’t support charging through the USB-C port, it excels as a straightforward adapter for extending or mirroring displays to TVs, monitors, and projectors. This works pretty good for playing downloaded content from places like Disney+ off an iPad Air 4th gen onto an hdr tv (UHD). Note that ATMOS output doesn’t work, and from iTunes even on surround content you’ll only get stereo sound…but that in some apps (like HBO MAX) you can get discrete 5.1 PCM output.But let’s back up.Why would you want to download content?Well, if your internet connection is not reliable (google “digital divide” or similar concepts; it impacts tens of millions of people in the USA, and hundreds of millions more around the world) downloading versus streaming is critical. This isn’t just a “poor people” problem. Plenty of affluent rural communities are underserved, in addition to other demographics. And, of course, if you are traveling and want to watch content on the hotel’s TV, or your friend’s TV or the TV at the airbnb, this is useful.So, what does this dongle do and what are the limitations?This device enables the iPad settings screen (to adjust video output) with both my LG OLED (2017 model) and my second display (Sony UHD) connected to the other end of it. This settings screen is another section of the settings menus on the iPad itself that shows up ONLY when a compatible dongle is connected to the iPad and that dongle is connected to a compatible display.That settings screen means: I could force everything to be Dolby Vision, or HDR10, or SDR and I could also do the iOS equivalent of TVOS’ features called “match dynamic range” and “match frame rate”. BUT Note that the iPad makes you choose BOTH frame rate AND dynamic range for matching. You cannot choose just one like on an Apple TV.Why does that limitation matter? Well, 24p output is super nice with film based content. It gives one more fidelity and fewer artifacts for film based content. And, perhaps even more important, with the iPad Air 4th gen, and possibly some other bandwidth limited devices, 4k output is capped at 30fps…..so this is the only way to get 4k. In other words, this feature is particularly useful because this dongle on the iPad air CANNOT output 4k 60p (60hz). That sound like a big issue at first, but then remember that moves are 4k 24p (24hz)! So as long as the TV accepts that kind of content, you can choose to “match output” and be okay……mostly.What’s the problem? Well, the way the dongle and or the ipad handle HDR output is the problem. Read below to understand more, but in short it would be REALLY HELPFUL to be able to “match frame rate” and NOT also have to “match dynamic range”. TVOS lets you choose one or both. Unfortunately, ipad OS (iOS) does not allow for that separation.So, in my testing, I could output 4k hdr at 24p to both displays. 60hz output was limited to 1080p but hdr would still work with the content I tried. So if you really want HDR (which is a little wonky, see below) and can use 24p ouput for whatever reason, that’s something of an option.HOWEVER: The Dolby Vision output is wonky or somehow otherwise non standard. The OLED didn’t recognize it as hdr 2020. It tried to use sdr gamma, and the colors were completely wrong, such as black was displayed as red. Solution? Forcing DV content to be output as hdr10 solved it……sort of. The problem (you have already guess this?) is that to force DV content to output at HDR10 content, you have to TURN OFF the “match content” setting……and that means that you are turning off the 24p frame rate……and now the ipad and dongle are outputting 60p…….and that means you cannot output 4k any longer, just 1080p! So, you can get HDR10 output onto a 2017 LG OLED but only at 60hz, and 1080p.HOWEVER: Another DV capable display (SONY) didn’t mind the DV content but perhaps not all profiles of DV work on the iPad output because it automatically output DV as hdr10 even with match content enabled and a Sony DV display. This is important to note. Apparently either the ipad air 4th gen or the dongle do NOT support the so called player led Dolby Vision profile (which is required by my Sony)…… The good news? Since you have selected match content, even though the ipad and dongle decide to output DV as HDR10, you have the 24p output still……so you get the full 4k resolution of the downloaded content. Not a perfect solution but workable.VERY BIG CAVEAT: This dongle (or the ipad based on this dongle) forced Atmos audio in downloaded iTunes content to be 2 channel audio output from the iPad Air 4th gen. This is a big caveat if you are wanting to hear surround sound. However these appears to be support for 5.1 content in some apps like HBO now. So YMMV.In summary, this is a well priced dongle. It appears to offer the key features that the overpriced Apple branded dongle offers. I’m giving it four stars because it would have been nice for Anker to provide more details about what is and is not supported, rather than users have to experiment themselves.

I bought a 6 pack of the dimmable 100 watt, 2700k, Amazon LED A19 bulbs for 2 new 3-bulb bathroom light fixtures. Bottom line is that the bulbs work great; they’re bright, and they work fine with my dimmer switch – no flickering.i had 2 halogen fixtures on a dimmer switch that i replaced a couple years ago. I remember when looking for a replacement dimmer switch for one that was going bad, some specifically said they were for LED bulbs, but i don’t remember if the one i got was so designated. I got it bc it was pretty much like the one i was replacing – “lumitron” or something like that?eventually one or two of the halogen bulbs started going out and examination indicated the problem was in the fixture. So i got 2 Kichler 3-bulb fixtures for replacement and they required 100 watt bulbs, which didn’t come with the fixtures. I got a 6 pack of these Amazon bulbs and they worked fine, but with 6 of them, they were mighty bright, even with the dimmer at its lowest level. I remembered when i put in the new dimmer switch a couple years earlier it had a slide that looked like it would adjust the dimming level – i set it in the middle at that time. When the Amazon bulbs were so bright, i took off the light switch plate and the dimming slider was easily accessible. I pushed it down to it’s lowest level and that resulted in the bulbs being at a reasonably low light level (“mood” setting) at the lowest dimmer setting. As for brightest level, i find the light to be more than bright enough with the dimmer a bit more than halfway up to the max, but it can go brighter.When i began looking for lights for the new fixtures, i was surprised to find that dimmable 100 watt, 2700k, A19 bulbs aren’t that easy to find, and are pretty expensive. I also read lots of complaints in reviews that the LED lights flickered when used with dimmer switches. i haven’t seen any flickering problem with the Amazon bulbs after using them about 2 weeks now. Very pleased about that and can recommend them.

I have installed about half of the box in various lamps, during the past month.Anybody who has actually worked with the LED light bulbs can tell you that the 5-year, 10-year, 15-year claims are not very reasonable and that about half of most LED bulbs will fail in some way in the first 1-2 years… so, as long as they all last for at least 1-2 years, then I will think them to be good for the price.
