  • Nirvana – Nevermind (Vinyl Review)
Nevermind. The word alone evokes images of ripped jeans, flannel shirts, and the raw, unfiltered energy of a generation. More than just an album, it’s a cultural artifact, a touchstone for the 90s and a testament to the power of genuine, angsty rock. Listening to it on vinyl, more than three decades later, is a singular experience that both rekindles nostalgia and reveals new nuances. The Sound:This is where the vinyl experience truly shines. While digital versions can sound crisp, Nevermind on vinyl possesses a warmth and depth that’s hard to replicate. The opening riff of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” hits with a satisfying crunch, the drums feel heavier and more resonant, and the bassline in “Come As You Are” thrums with a visceral presence. The dynamic range of the vinyl allows the quiet moments, like the verses of “Lithium,” to truly breathe before exploding into the explosive choruses. The overall experience feels more organic, less compressed, and more engaging. It’s not necessarily “better” than digital, but it’s definitely different, offering a more nuanced and textured listening experience. The Experience:Beyond the sound, the act of physically handling the vinyl is part of the appeal. Carefully removing the record from the sleeve, placing it on the turntable, and dropping the needle is a ritual that encourages active listening. You’re not just passively consuming music; you’re participating in a process. The crackles and pops inherent in vinyl add a certain character, a sense of history that you don’t get with digital streams. It’s a more deliberate and immersive way to engage with the album. Flipping the record halfway through acts as a natural break, prompting you to reflect on what you’ve heard and anticipate the rest. The Packaging:The album art for Nevermind is iconic in its own right, and holding the full-sized sleeve in your hands is a treat. The baby in the pool feels both innocent and unsettling, perfectly encapsulating the themes of the album. Examining the liner notes, credits, and artwork up close allows you to appreciate the details that get lost on smaller digital screens. It’s a physical artifact that feels substantial and worthy of its place in music history.Minor Considerations:Cost: Vinyl records, especially newer pressings, can be more expensive than their digital counterparts. This is a factor worth considering.Equipment: Obviously, a record player is necessary to enjoy this format.Surface Noise: Depending on the condition of the record and the quality of your equipment, you might experience some surface noise (pops and crackles). This is part of the vinyl experience for some, but can be a deterrent for others.Overall:Nevermind on vinyl is more than just a listening experience; it’s a journey. It’s a chance to connect with this iconic album in a tangible and visceral way. The warmth of the sound, the ritual of playing the record, and the tangible nature of the packaging all contribute to a uniquely rewarding experience. While the cost and potential for surface noise are factors to consider, for any fan of Nirvana, or even just anyone looking to explore a classic album in a different way, the Nevermind vinyl is a worthwhile investment. It’s a reminder of why this record continues to resonate with generations of listeners – not just for its music, but for the feeling it evokes. It’s a piece of rock history you can hold in your hands and truly experience.Highly Recommended for:Die-hard Nirvana fansVinyl enthusiastsAnyone looking for a more engaging and immersive listening experienceThose seeking to connect with the music on a deeper, more tangible levelNot Recommended for:Those strictly seeking convenience and portabilityListeners who are easily annoyed by surface noiseThose on a tight budgetHopefully, this review gives you a comprehensive overview of what it’s like to experience Nevermind on vinyl!

  • Geffen makes High Quality LPS
Geffen is great. for decades , they have been making records, right. Flat, centered, and sound amazing. Remastered, I think, the sound is great. Very high quality vinyl. I was impressed. Sounds a little different ( louder, if you can beleive it) Kurt Cobains’ vocals really stand out. Love it. Great “pressing” of this legendary album.
  • Every song is a hit
    Amazing album
  • That one album of which I NEVER tire.
There’s nothing I can say about this album that hasn’t been said, contradicted, paraphrased and scrutinized backwards, forwords and at more rpm’s more than a Beatles’ album circa the mid to late-60’s.I count this album among the iconic objects that would bulge from my personal “time capsule.” Although I associate both manically joyful and ledge-skirtingly dark times with the songs on this album, it never frustrates me or makes me regret playing it. It’s not so much that I discover new things each time I hear it intentionally or coincidentally. I marvel at the eerie, spontaneous relevence, pegging my slant du jour on life, regardless of the particular phase through which I find myself earnestly stumbling. The songs are deliciously accessible, uncannily intuitive, evoking waves of somehow anything buy non-mutually exclusive invasive/welcome penetrating junctions that intersect,to conversational inroads charted by the Davinciesque nakedness of bluntly confessedlyrics and unpretentious emotions. Few other classic rock albums can recreate. Even though this album was called “Alternative Rock,” it is at its core unselfconscious Rock ‘n’ Roll with its simplicity and palpable descriptions of the human condition. Nirvana’s surgically accurate capacity to erect songs that neither glorify or self-aggrandize the band members’ familiar growing pains and akward metaphysical revelations includes us in an ardent discussion that we could just as easily be having in our own living room after too many beers, tenderly tracing our own new scars fresh from uncautious emotional end-overs. I’m so grateful to have been intellectually mature enough (arguably) when it came out that was able to take it in. I appreciate how I have this relational logistic rapport with Nirvana through their well-thumbed musical photo album and mark time by its advent. It has long since now become a landmark in the panorama of my own chronology and personal voyage nto and through functionalmythology. Far from generic, Nevermind includes us in the cryptic in-joke unlike so many ethereal abstract poets who seem to serenade their own demons with no epilogue or backstory to guide the listener. This musical teain rebounds pole to pole, nevef reaching the end of the line and always saving a seat for us to dismount and reboard at will.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars – A Sonic Revelation That Redefines Music Itself
Where does one even begin with Sleep Token’s ‘Take Me Back To Eden’? Calling it a mere album feels like calling the universe a collection of stars – a vast understatement. From the moment ‘Chokehold’ begins, you’re not just listening to music; you’re embarking on an odyssey through the cosmos of sound. Each track is a universe unto itself, with ‘The Summoning’ and ‘The Apparition’ creating a supernova of emotions, and ‘Granite’ and ‘Aqua Regia’ offering a meteor shower of melodic and rhythmic brilliance. ‘Vore’ and ‘Ascensionism’ aren’t just songs; they’re musical epiphanies that make you question everything you knew about progressive metal.’Are You Really Okay?’ and ‘Dywtylm’ strike chords in your soul you never knew existed, while ‘Rain’ washes over you with a cleansing flood of sonic bliss. The title track, ‘Take Me Back to Eden’, isn’t just a song – it’s an eight-minute-plus spiritual ascension. And ‘Euclid’? It’s the mathematical proof of musical perfection. This album isn’t just heard; it’s felt – in every nerve, every heartbeat. It’s like discovering a new color, a new dimension. You’ll find yourself listening to it loud in quiet, dark rooms, letting the complex tapestry of sounds enfold you, transport you to realms you never imagined. In ‘Take Me Back To Eden’, Sleep Token hasn’t just created an album; they’ve crafted a new mythos, a sonic odyssey that redefines not just music, but existence itself. It’s a journey through the heart of darkness into a universe of light, a journey that leaves you reborn.Forget every music review you’ve read. This album isn’t just a masterpiece; it’s a cosmic event. Buy it, experience it, and let it transform you. This isn’t just the best album of the last decade; it’s a new chapter in the story of music.
  • Beautiful album – good CD and sleeve quality
One of my favorite albums of all time; of course I had to have a physical copy. This CD comes in a cardboard sleeve rather than a plastic case, but it seems nice quality for what it is. Mine arrived perfectly undamaged and as described.
  • Further building the foundation of how music should be made.
Top three still in ranking depending on the day. Probably their most seamless production from track to track. Follows the narrative in a linear way once you figure out the story. Musicianship and mixing goes to a higher level in this masterpiece.Top three ST albums:SundowningTake Me Back To EdenEven In ArcadiaThis place will be your tomb is a super emo suicide album with a few good tracks but I widely avoid this album. Lore aside, it just doesn’t have the life the others have and it’s a rather boring listen imo.
  • The album that got me obsessed with ST
Perfect album. Arrived fast and in pristine condition. Worship!
  • Every Track Is Original and Revelatory
I am in awe of the creativity, work, and ingenuity that went into writing and producing this album. The coherence of the themes makes it both a standalone masterpiece without compare and a final third album in the Sundowning/This Place Will Become Your Tomb/Take Me Back to Eden that closes with positivity, wistfulness, and wisdom. I want to start the first album as soon as the last track of Take Me Back to Eden finishes, and I often think, “I can’t wait to get to one track!” only to replay the current one multiple times. We are not going to see a CD like this again — unless Sleep Token/Vessel makes another, and in any case, I am sure that the world will continue to benefit from his endless, beautiful artistic viewpoint in whatever form it takes, even if it is just to review the corpus repeatedly.
  • Fantastic Music!
Awesome album, I highly recommend adding this to your collection.
  • Amazing album by an amazing band
Amazing album by an amazing band
  • Fine
Disc is not of the best quality, but not nearly as bad as the Emergence 7″, haha. Honestly the only issue is mild warping and a few skips near the end of one of my favorite tracks. Tolerable. Record otherwise sounds great, really good mix.

  • BUY THIS 100%
This album is pure gold, if you listen to it on a Walkman you’ll hear bits of the song you’ve never noticed on Spotify or any streaming service. As a fan that listens to System every day this album is NEXT level on cd. Definitely do not buy this if you’re not ready to rock the f out.
  • Quality is great
Great sound. No warping. No scratches or skips
  • How do you own disorder??
When it came out in 2001, Toxicity was probably the biggest album there was. System of a Down had gotten fairly popular with their debut album just a few years before, but this is what really solidified them as one of the top modern rock/metal bands. I remember getting this album a week or two before it was supposed to come out, thanks to a clueless dude working in the music section of a store putting the CDs out before release, and being blown away. I hadn’t heard an album this good in a while, and it was easily my most listened to album for a good 2 years…and I -loved- System’s debut album. Rick Rubin helped the band pull off another masterpiece- the song order, editing, everything was fantastic, and I really wish the band could release another album as good as this.I hadn’t listened to the album for a while until recently because, for some reason over the last couple of years, I haven’t listened to music as much as I used to. Sure enough, the album still rocks, and I remember all the lyrics. I’ve noticed a couple of things I don’t care much for, but that shouldn’t keep anyone else from enjoying it. I’ll just get those out of the way right here- the band does the whole “stop” thing a little too much for my tastes. As in, they’ll play music, stop for a second for dramatic effect, then come back in and keep playing. The first track of the album, Prison Song, starts out with one chord, a stop, then a few chords, a stop, etc. Several other tracks do this and it gets kind of silly. Fortunately, the music is all top notch, and it’s doesn’t necessarily ruin the songs. The other complaint is a “DUH!” one because it’s how the band is, but nowadays, I really couldn’t care less for political stuff. At least half of the songs here are political, and while they mean well, it gets a little tiring at times. But again, the music and Serj’s delivery of the lines is what drives the songs. He could be howling and screaming about peach cobbler and most people wouldn’t notice because they’d be so into it. What I’m really saying here is that I hope people make their own political decisions, and not just go what one performer’s talking about. This album came out when I was in high school and a lot of us had the sheep mentality here.Alright, little gripes aside, if you somehow haven’t heard this album yet, you’re in for a treat. Standout tracks include Deer Dance, X, Chop Suey!, ATWA, Science, Toxicity, Aerials and the ‘hidden’ track Arto. Go listen to samples of those, or the whole tracks on whatever video site you use, and listen for yourself. Chop Suey! is the first single that came out of freakin’ nowhere, and I can still remember seeing the video on MTV (remember that?) and going “THEY’RE BACK! YEAAAAAAAH!” when I was 16. The opening acoustic riff going right into an oddly-paced series of metal chords while Serj delivered a powerful song let you know that they were back and they meant business. If you ask me though, the two best tracks are Deer Dance and Science. Deer Dance is just plain beautiful while still being a metal track, with how the music and vocals change towards the end, and I love the lyrics to Science, especially today with how everyone’s so big on science. You can’t go anywhere, or on any site, without someone talking about science, whether they’re being serious or trying to be funny. Read the lyrics to this one and see if you agree. It’d be great f someone could make a video for this song using footage from the new Planet of the Apes movies where the chimps are going berserk, smashing everything up.Toxicity is perfect for people to enter the musical world of System of a Down. It’s a little more beginner-friendly, for lack of better term, than their debut album, but not as raw. It’s a shame that modern radio-friendly music is what it is now, when you consider that all of the singles from Toxicity used to be in regular rotation for a long time, and not just on rock stations. Hopefully the guys can come back with a new album soon and be in the spotlight again, saving us from more boy bands and pretty-faced singers that were put together by studios. ‘be kinda cool if System had a track where the vocals were auto tuned though, I gotta admit.

What Customers Say:

  • Brilliant. Awesome. I’d like to play it “One More Time”
Now this is interesting. Apparently these guys have been famous for quite a while, yet somehow I’d never heard of them. All that was remedied recently though. When I heard that Leiji Matsumoto had created a full-length animated feature with stunning animation based on an ablum by Daft Punk, I just had to check it out. While my opinion of that excellent piece of animation is mixed (I just didn’t dig the story or think most of it matched the songs all that well), it did something to me. It made me buy the album it was based on “Discovery”. Wow.In this case, it seemed more like the music video was just a distraction than an extension of the music. When I first started listening to the album I thought it was okay, but as I progressed through it, listening to the songs in order, and then repeating some just to hear them one more time, I got HOOKED.It’s hard to describe. I love electronic music and techno and all that sort of thing, but this is different. The voices and music are all really just toyed with by the musical artists in these songs. Everything is just a way to get you into a feeling, of a rhythm, or a beat. The more you hear the songs, they more they grow on you, the more you get into them, the more you like them, the more you listen to them.Take that song “One more time”. That song is downright addictive! The beat is so infectious that I found I absolutely had to move to the song while I was listening to it. Ditto for the next three tracks. “Aerodynamic” is amazing because it uses electric guitar like a piano player uses his keyboard, not just for show, but to extend and play with a melody, finally turning it into a music-box version of itself before transforming into my favorite song on the album “Digital Love”. I love that song. It’s just so incredibly upbeat, happy, and beautiful. I love that song. A lot of people really love the next one, “Harder, better, faster, stronger”. I didn’t care for it at first, but it grows on you, to the point where I love it too now. My other favorite tracks include “Nightvision”, “Superheroes” (why do I actually think of comic book superheroes when I hear that song?), and “Voyager”.This may be an acquired taste, but it’s definitely a taste I’m glad I acquired. If you dig electronic music in general you should check it out. Just keep an open mind. This more than just more of the same repetitive techno/electronica you’ve heard. This is beautiful, original, and unique music. Great stuff. Give it a try.
  • wonderful
High Life and Short Circuit sound a bit warped but I don’t care. Good product
  • Daft Punk’s Best Album
I cannot emphasize enough how spectacular this 5-star album is. How much creativity and effort is poured into every single one of these tracks. To me, this is the album that defines Daft Punk – Melodious vocals, well placed beats, perfect timing, and unique musical ideas. One More Time, Aerodynamic, Digital Love, Harder Better Faster Stronger, Something About Us, Voyager, Short Circuit, Face to Face, and Too Long are all quite exceptional tracks, and none of the other songs are mediocre enough to be labeled album filler. Let’s get right to the song by song analysis:1. One More Time – 5/5 Stars. This track is absolutely classic. A shimmering music track with perfectly timed vocals and beats. Very fun to dance to. It doesn’t matter if you’re a techno fan or not. No one can dislike this song.2. Aerodynamic – 5/5 Stars. A remarkable track. Very well put together, with an interesting sound and very rapid notes. This song is very creative, and takes on an almost magical sound from 2:30 to the end. This song is extremely cool. Not one of Daft Punks most famous tracks but it should be.3. Digital Love – 5/5 Stars. Catchy, well timed beat. Cute vocals. Cute lyrics. This is a very feel-good song. Like Aerodynamic, the track gets more and more awesome as the song progresses. At 3:25 a crazy guitar riff is added, giving the song a wild climax to 4:25. Then the song cools down to a peaceful ending.4. Harder Better Faster Stronger- 5/5 Stars. Probably one of Daft Punks most famous songs, and for good reason. This song is perfectly timed with progressive vocals and an irresistible beat. Extremely fun to dance to. It’s also fun to see how long you can keep up with the vocals before you run out of breath. It’s hard to describe what makes this track so epic. You just have to hear it.5. Crescendolls – 4/5 Stars for techno fans, 3/5 Stars for casual audiences. There’s only one word to describe this track: weird. But if you’re like me and love music that is creative to the point of strangeness, you will enjoy this track. More casual listeners, however, will think this sounds pretty nasty. This one’s harder to dance to. This song is good, but not on the same tier as the first four tracks, and probably too weird for many people.6. Nightvision – 4/5 Stars. There’s nothing wrong with this song, except it doesn’t feel complete. Well under two minutes long, it doesn’t feel like a song. It is also quite un-danceable. To its credit, it is well put together and very soothing to listen to. Again, no real complaint here, just not as epic as the first four tracks.7. Superheroes – 4/5 Stars. A good track. Steady beat. Well timed. Danceable. However, the lyrics are extremely repetitive, which isn’t a problem for me, but take it down a notch from the awesome vocals in One More Time, Digital Love, and Harder Better Faster Stronger. Altogether, a solid track, but not outstanding.8. High Life – 4/5 Stars for techno fans, 3/5 Stars for casual listeners. Same story as Crescendolls. A high pitched voice shouting BAAAM, BUUUM, BAAAM, BUUM over and over. This song is just silly. But, as a fan of creatively weird techno I still enjoy listening to it.9. Something About Us – 5/5 Stars. A sublime, relaxing song with touching vocals. Like Nightvision, not a danceable song. I love this track. Like Digital Love, it shows that techno can make love songs too, and good ones at that.10. Voyager – 5/5 Stars. This song is delightful. A distorted bassline under a shimmering track. At 2:16 a quick xylophone-ish note progression is added, meshing perfectly with the first two musical elements. Not very danceable, but overall as good as the first four tracks.11.Veridis Quo – 4/5 Stars. Similar to Nightvision, only a complete song. It progresses very slowly, but very naturally, and grows more and more complex. Soothing to listen to, but not danceable. A great track.12. Short Circuit- 5/5 Stars for techno fans, 3/5 stars for casual listeners. Excellent song from 0:00-1:40. The first 1:40 is great for breakdancing and extremely catchy. Then the song slows down, to a riff that grows more and more distorted until the song ends. Near the end the track gets very choppy. Casual listeners will hate this part. As a techno fan I find this intriguing and melodious in its own way. Very creative, very catchy at the beginning and very interesting at the end.13. Face to Face – 5/5 Stars. Brilliant. Creative. Great vocals. Fascinating beat. I would go as far as to call this the best song in the album. The music is all over the place, but somehow makes something perfectly harmonious. We then move on to great vocals with a steady beat in the background. The song also has an interesting message to it, but I’ll leave the lyrical interpretation to you. I wish this song was a lot longer. It feels like the ending is way too early, especially for a techno song. I think Daft Punk should’ve extended this song another 2 minutes. But as it stands, it’s still an absolutely brilliant, catchy, danceable song.14.Too Long – 5/5 Stars. Well, it’s a 10:00 minute song called “Too Long.” The question stands- is this song literally too long, or is it 10 minutes of quality music? I would say the latter. It has a natural progression with great vocals and an interesting message. When the beat finally kicks in at 1:38 its very catchy and danceable. The music gradually swells, ebbs, and changes, over the duration of the song, but remains interesting and catchy. An excellent end to the album that is certainly not too long.Discovery is a shining gem among techno albums. Even if you’re not much of a techno head, you’ll find a great deal of these songs enjoyable. This is the best $9.49 I’ve spent in my life, but you’re making a huge mistake if you leave this page without downloading “Face to Face” at the very least. Thanks for reading!
  • great beats awesome pressing
I just got wind of the vinyl resurgence after living in a cave the past 10-12 years or so.I had vinyl in the past but had maybe 8-10 records and a really bad combo player with cassette, 8 track, and a automatic record player.Anyway this daft punk album excellent. The pressing is pristine- ultra pristine too bad it won’t stay that way.I think it might be a bit better than random access memories but RAM is very well mastered.Great beats on this one – this was a good “discovery”. Haha could help myself.Been on the fence about getting back into it. I had just upgraded to a bit of a midfi system – elac unifi ub5 – with Yamaha r-n803 reciever and a Sony cd changer.I flipped back and forth on this vinyl business – finally I saw this daft punk on sale for tad over 10 dollars. Perfect re-gateway into vinyl.I just got my turntable literally today (lp120xusb) and this albums pressing is fantastic- oh boy it is quiet. Just one or two minor pops and clicks or it coulda been my imagination. It was quiet which also says a lot for the LP120xusb. It is soooo quiet that motor. It’s like it isn’t even on.I did find like a curled up piece of plastic vinyl – prob from the pressing.Great beats – excellent pressing — can’t go wrong with daft punk.Edit 9/13/19 this record sounds so good I forget I’m listening to vinyl cuz it sounds like a CD or hi res stream.

08-2011 was a rough time for me, and this album was with me thru it all. It’s hands down my favorite Deftones album and I finally have the vinyl!!! Every song is perfect. That’s all I’ll say.
  • Sounds great
    Great album
  • Fly
    Every song is good
  • amazing!!
such a good vinyl. i love it
  • Stronger than Saturday Night Wrist
I own all of the Deftones albums beginning with “Adrenaline” up to this most recent album “Diamond Eyes”, and I’m happy to say that it is stronger than their last album “Saturday Night Wrist”. I personally was introduced to the Deftones with “White Pony” when a friend suggested I give them a try. The only point I wish to make is that my later introduction may skew what I expect out of the Deftones to the “White Pony” sound than say “Adrenaline”. That being said, I am a big fan of their first two albums as well.I must say, I’ve been pretty disappointed with bands as of recently. Many of the solid groups I grew up listening to put out album after album that slowly signified the decline of an era. Sure I’m biased like every other reviewer out there, and I have fond memories of the music and style that I was introduced first to, but overall I feel I’m pretty open to change and growth. This is definitely not “Adrenaline 2” or “Around the Fur 2” or “White Pony 2” as some people claim (or demand) but it is definitely a Deftones album. When you get that–not only with this band but every band that has ever existed–you can really learn to appreciate it.The good news, as I said, is that this is a Deftones album. It’s got the core of what makes one: those harsh sounding guitars, those groovy drum beats, and lyrics that drive you to understand the message, sung with emotion and unconcern for direction. However, as with every Deftones album it is always those elements that make it so hard to digest at first. This is a CD you need to play through once entirely to first get a sense of what it is about, and then on repeat listens you can start to pull out the gems. It reminds me of when I first listened to “White Pony”. I knew there was something so unique about it, but no one part was grabbing me. It’s after you can start to predict Chino’s sometimes unusual vocal melodies and pacing that you realize how catchy the songs are.I was somewhat concerned when I heard the first single “Diamond Eyes” off the album. That song by far is the most commercial and outwardly catchy song that I believe the Deftones have ever created. No I don’t feel they “sold out” with this song but its almost so catchy that it’s corny. It’s a different Deftones than I’m used to but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I have nothing against the song as I listen more to the album, but I frequently skip over it to songs like “You’ve Seen the Butcher”, “Prince”, and “Risk” which I feel represent some of the real highlights on this album. If you give these songs a chance they will get stuck in your head. The only real thing I do miss on this album is those real heavy uptempo tracks like Hexagram or Korea. I understand why some people are disappointed by their absence, but I get it. They are getting older and their music is starting to chill like Korn did and Incubus did. You get older and you don’t have that same kind of angst and hate for the world as you did as a kid. I personally am glad they were able to move on from that stage. Doesn’t mean they can’t throw a heavy one in there, but I get that slow and emotional is where they are ending up.It brings me back to “Saturday Night Wrist”, which I feel was the weakest of their albums so far. It didn’t have the raw straight-forward sound of “Adrenaline”, the more polished yet still rocking sound of “Around the Fur”, the complexity and otherworldly sound of “White Pony”, or the hard hitting sound of “Deftones”. It was kind of just slow and mediocre. I feel this album takes that new introduced sound in “Saturday Night Wrist”, adds some Team Sleep sort of flavor, and actually produces real stand out tracks. If you liked their first four releases, and were maybe iffy about “Saturday Night Wrist”, I think you need to give this one a chance. If it doesn’t get stuck in your head, then maybe you and the Deftones have hit a fork in the road.

My original copy vintage 1979 had a big scratch right at the beginning of Highway to Hell, courtesy of a troglodyte with ten thumbs and no permission to touch my stuff. He’ll be picking his nose with his toes for awhile now.

  • It’s new, sounds fresh and very metal.
One of the greats and a truly influential metal bands of all time, Testament is still very much alive with their new album Para Bellum. Going with the times, their songs reflects 2025 and staying relevant. It’s new, sounds fresh and very metal. You’ll hear anything between classic thrash and speed mixed with hardcore death metal a bit too. They even squeezed out a “ballad” (Meant to Be) for you. However, the album can be Headbangers Delight. Chuck can still howl and growl, Petersen and Skolnick can still write and shred. Chris Dovas (drums), Steve Di Giorgio on the bass are playing very well. Overall, I am digging on this album and it’s been on heavy rotation in my daily digest. I would rate this a very good album, whatever that means to you. Favorite tracks: Ifanticide A.I., Room 117, Havana Syndrome.
  • Fantastic & Heavier than I’d Expected
I’ve been a fan of them since The Legacy back in 1987 when I first heard them on The Underground (a Baltimore radio show thats survives on the net with new shows) in high school. All of their releases are solid, but I like this one best of their releases the last couple decades. It’s much faster & heavier than I expected, kind of thrash death metal in places especially in their first songs such as For the Love of Pain. But Meant to Be is more of a heavy ballad that could have fit in in their 1990s music. Lots of great songs, but my 5 favorites on this album in order starting with the best are Havana Syndrome, Para Bellum, Room 177, For Love of Pain & last but not really least High Noon. Honestly there’s not a weak song & I like how Meant to Be gives a solid breather from the blood pounding pace of the surrounding songs.
  • Best Thrash Band Ever
    Testament never disappoints, Great album!!!
  • Metal
Great album, changed up the sound a little bit
  • Testament Rules!
Testament are thrash legends & they once again deliver the goods with their latest offering, Para Bellum. Their sound never stops evolving but, they still have the classic Testament feel & ferocity. Chuck Billy is in fine form with his vocal brutality & Eric Peterson offers up his own eerie vocals that takes their sound to another dark level. Skolnick proves once again that he may be most criminally underrated guitarists in metal. Not to mention, the rhythm section of Steve DiGiorgio & Chris Dovas are a literal sonic assault of power. This album definitely one of the best metal releases of 2025.
  • This is a 45 RPM recording (Not 33!!!)
I first put this on the turntable and I was wondering why it was so sloooooow and heavy. Turns out it’s a 45 RPM record and NOT a typical 33RPM. That’s pretty important to know when playing it back! LOL That said, it’s a great return for Testament full of incredible riffs, brutal vocals and machine gun drumming. Highly recommended…just set your turntable accordingly! ????
  • straight fire
when it comes down to it TESTAMENT is better and more consistent than any of the so called ” big four ” of thrash metal… and this new album is incredible, after spinning this for a week I can say that it is a masterpiece of metal…highly recommend ????
  • Their Newest & Possibly Heaviest Aibum
Another solid entry to the Testament catalog. This is probably their heaviest album.
